Anyone know how to low-risk bet Sic bo?
I've never played the game, but I've heard you can do this.

If you do - get over to Trident Lounge before they correct their obvious error!! :D

Different games contribute a different percentage of the wager - up to 100%, towards the required wager. Games played will contribute in the following percentages:
100% of wagers on:
Slots; Video Slots; Progressive Slots; Keno; Scratch games; Red Dog; & Sic Bo
67% of wagers on:
All forms of: Video slots; Roulette; Paigow Poker; Poker Pursuit & progressives games
10% of wagers on:
All forms of: Craps; Blackjack; Video, Power & multi-hand Pokers; 3-Card Poker; Casino War & Baccarat

I've just told them about the error of 'Video Slots' in both 100% & 67% groups - I wonder if they'll spot this other howler! :p

There's no such thing as a low-risk bet in sic-bo, baccarat, craps or roulette.

There are bets where you are able to set your variance to 0, and make your expected loss on each hand = to your actual loss.

There are two schools of thought as to why casinos disallow these games when bonuses are involved.

1) They don't want a player to run up a large balance, and then grind out the wagering requirement on a game where the player can calculate the exact loss that he will incur during that amount of wagering. They'd rather have the player play a game with some volatility, to increase the chance that the player will hit a losing streak, causing the player to continue to wager after meeting the wagering requirement, in an attempt to win his money back

2) Casino operators have the math skills of a jelly donut

While #1 is plausible, I personally believe that casino operators actually think it's possible to place a bet with no house advantage in the aforementioned games.

The lowest house edge bet in sic bo is 2.78%. This means that $1 of bonus money has an EV of only $0.166 when playing sic bo. However, since roulette is only discounted to 67% it is actually a much better deal to play that. French roulette has a 1.36% house edge, and $1 in bonus money has an EV of $0.386.

Errm, a 0 variance bet is a low risk bet.

Sometimes I get this feeling, too.

Sorry, but that statement is clearly wrong.
There are low-risk bets, what there are not are no-risk bets.
Even I know how to low-risk bet Craps & Roulette! ;)

bet over and under at sic bo? like hi/low at roulette.

I just know SicBo can be great fun... I've not played it in ages, but used to always plop a single chip on the big triple ones - then the six, seven, eights etc for the rest of my chips. You could get some long term fun and the occasional biggie :D
