Nice before Xmas, small stakes definitely work better for me.

Heaps and heaps of racing today. Almost impossible to file through it all.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ferny Hollow today at Leopardstown.
At Kempton Epetante has cheltenham potential so I will be watching that also.
In the King George Chantry House has a massive chance, its a wide open race though.
The fact Frodon beat Minella Indo in their first run this season can maybe be taken with a pinch of salt but for both have chances and obviuosly Clan des Obeaux too.
Should be a good race to watch.

So no real selections I may just do a few as I watch the racing.

Have more so been playing the exchanges the last couple of weeks than backing.
But there's a couple I fancy at a price today.

N'Golo 1.45 Ascot. 18/1 ew. Formerly with Willie Mullins. Was running well on first run for Duffield lto. Will def come on for the run and feels value at the price.
Palmers Hill 2.55 Ascot. 7/2 in an open race feels a very strong chance.


Both @colinsunderland (hope you're doing well mate) and I flagged up JonBon before his first run. He's now 3 for 3 and having what I would think is his prep run for Cheltenham today at haydock. At 4/11 not really anyone's bet. Unless you fancy one of Energumene or Shiskin in the Clarence House. Shiskin is 4/5 and thats how I would lean.
The Jonbon,Shiskin double pays around 7/4.

A Cheltenham comp sounds good to me. It would be nice if a casino with a sports card got involved in it?

Some really interesting races today but I'll just be an observer in the smaller field racing.

I am salivating thinking of the Clarence House today, what a race it should be and if both Shiskin and Energumene bring their A game it could be a race for the ages. The main thing though is lets hope they all come out of the race safe and sound so that we can enjoy watching them in the coming years.
I will be starting to put together my antepost bets for Cheltenham over the next few weeks and I think this could be one of the bext festivals ever as there are so many exciting novice hurdlers and chasers around, plus we will have the returning champions from last year to look forward to.
 
Bet365 gave a free €5 bet for Dublin racing festival at leopardstown which of put on Frodon in the Irish gold Cup at 4/1.
I've also had a fiver on frodon at PP because they gave a free fiver on Cheltenham gc if you bet on irish gc.


Other than that a small L15 ew on a few I fancy to go close.

Lots of small field racing today which is not for me. Cheltenham's too far off yet for me. I have been offered to work at Cheltenham but I would rather be sat watching it.

Ya Frodon did the usual. Frost had the horse out in front. Was a decent watch today even if the results were generally surprising. Minella Indo ran a big race. Profile is starting to look similar to pre gold Cup last year.

It does look as though Mullins is intent on a full on assault on the festival this year.

I loved todays racing mate. I'm also looking forward to posting my losers tomorrow because their are some quite big fields :p I'll have my eye on Mullins and Broomfields nags
 
My microwave broke. So the missus in her infinite wisdom decided we should change the entire kitchen. Someone has to pay for this and I think it should be paddy Power. So with that in mind here are 4 big priced winners for today.

Didn't do a lot today. Short priced treble which won (I mean short!) Bet totalled 2/1.

I fancy the dabbler ew tomorrow at Punchestown 3rd race. Currently 10/1 in places. I think if he was from Mullins or Elliots he'd be half half price given the profile.

I've included the dabbler in my lucky 15 and it looks like he is being backed down. If I recall he won about 6 on the trot last season? I'll be flicking between the racing and watching the toon match this afternoon for sure.

Plenty of short priced favourites today. Which leads to tonnes of bookies "special" price doubles/trebles etc.

Generally I steer clear but there is one today which I think is good value.

Liverpool to beat Norwich.
City to beat Spurs.
Fakir D'oudairies to win the 3.38 Ascot.

Fakir is backed into 5/2. If his jumping holds up he will tale all the beating.

The treble is 9/2. The way I see it you are getting 9/2 for the horse to win and city to beat spurs. I can't see Norwich getting close to a full strength Liverpool. In fairness the machine that is city now also should roll over spurs.

So in my eyes it's as good as enhanced special as you can get for value.

Probably due to the view bookies are taking that it's a massive jump in class. But like you say 5 horse race especially a chase. It wouldn't take much for one or two to fall so there always a chance.


Take a look at Patroclus in the first at Kempton. Very likeable profile. An improver for a top trainer and a very lively 7/2 shot.

You can actually get 4 in 5 chance on betfair it slashes the odds to 16/1 but still pretty amazing (providing it doesn’t come last)
 
The festival is fast approaching. Can't see us getting much of a comp going @cncas2123 with the two colins out of action. Maybe we'll just discuss our opinions on the races instead preview style?

I have several small ante post multis done. All told I've only spent about 100quid so far on cross doubles,trebles and the odd single. Most revolve around Champ in the stayers hurdle and teahupoo in the Champ hurdle mostly markets betting w/o honeysuckle.
 
Not done much today as I am keeping the powder dry for Cheltenham tuesday.
Been looking over my ante post bets and most bets and most centre around double and trebles combos mostly including Alloha for the Ryanair and Shiskin for QM.
I have more on Champ ew in the stayers hurdle than neccesssary a 5/1. Free bets all went on Galvin for the GC at 4/1.
While Honeysuckle is obv the one to beat and I have the mare in some accum I also fancied Teahupoo at 5/1 betting w/o which ha since gone into 11/4. I really do feel he's the most likely to run Honeysuckle close so for me a great price betting w/o!
So far the horses I've backed in singles and multiples are

Jonbon 5/1 ew the Supreme Nov Hurdle.
Edwardstone 9/4 the Arkle.
Teahupoo 11/1 ew, Teahupoo ew bet w/o honeysuckle.
Honeysuckle all these in Champion hurdle.
Shishkin 8/11 in QM Chase.
Allaho 8/11 in Ryanair Chase
Galvin 4/1 in Gold Cup
Prengarde 6/1ew in the X Country Race
Banbridge 14/1 ew in the Martin Pipe Hurdle, 20/1 ew in the County Hurlde
Hillcrest ew 9/2 in the Albert Bartlett
Brandy Love 11/4 in the Mares Novice Hurdle
Maries Rock ew 16/1 in the Coral Cup
HMS Seahorse ew 14/1 in the Boodles
Langer Dan ew 7/1 in the Martin Pipe.
Champ ew at 3 prices 5/1,8/1 and 4/1 in the Stayers Hurdle

Those are the ones I've done so far. No doubt I'll add more Tuesday morning and daily then for the week.
All the above are non runner no bet so covered there with the likes of Banbridge who I've backed in two races but he is likely to only run in one.




As for today.
Bet365 have given out free €5 for the prem today and also a second one for sandown.(Might be ROI only)

The first one I put on Spurs to win and Kane to score anytime at 7/2. United are so vulnerable and Spurs actually have a decent record at OT nowadays.
The second free €5 goes on Nickolson in the 4.45 at Sandown.
Currently 6/1 and imo a great price to turn over the 6/4 fav who has fallen as many times as he has won this season.

Also PP gave out a free €5 bet builder on the Man Utd/Spurs game which is again gone on a combo of Kane scoring and spurs winning.
 
A heads up for anybody who is interested in a bet at Cheltenham next week.

Paddy Power will be giving a free €/£5 bet daily for the first three days.
 
Much better showing from Cheltenham today. If horse with no name had won wow. I accidentally bet it twice. ??✅✅✅✅

To be honest seems a pretty pointless bet.

If the horse comes anywhere between 2nd and 9th you will get not much more than a fiver back. And as you used a fiver free bet it is basically breaking even unless horse wins.

I got 8.50 back actually. And would have got more had I gone less places. Horse ran 2nd should have had more faith in my nag.
 
Well punchestown was a washout for me.
Vauban and Epitante should win there today the double pays 5/2 so nothing to write home about.
Shady Operator runs in the first race. 3/1 currently and its interesting Bolger pulled him out of the banks race Thursday to keep him for this. If the forecast had been for rain he would have ran Thursday. So he may be a play today.

In the 2,000 guineas its hard to argue the favourite isn't correctly priced but I wouldn't put anybody off backing O'Briens two.
Luxembourg won all 3 starts last year but may in time find a mile a little sharp. At 5/1 if you can get four places it's a strong each way play.
Point Lonsdale has frankie on board which I always take note of for O'brien and although beaten second on last start as a two year old. Natural progression would see him involved in the finish here also.

I had my usual Punchestown -loser after loser - so nothing new there.
Hard to work out the Guineas today, the real dark horse for me is Coroebus, he was so green in his first two races and it was only on his third start that he had an inkling of what he was meant to do and although he hasnt achieved as much as the other Godolphin horse or the O'Brien horses I think he has a real chance today.
I have also had a few quid EW on Lusail @ 66/1 4 places as I think he might sneak a place.
I have backed Raatea EW in the second race at Newmarket and Heia EW at Punchestown both with enhanced place terms, but its a tough days racing ahead and I am struggling to pick my normal lucky 15's.

A few ew bets for me today on the enhanced place races.

Alrehb in 4:05 Ascot should run a decent race, but I also think Dark Shift could sneak a place if he can get a decent pace to run at from his low draw. In the Swinton at Haydock I cant see Herbiers not getting into the first 6 places but I have also had a small ew bet on See the Sea @ 80/1.
I have also done the Fav double in the Derby & Oaks Trial races at Lingfied.
