Not going great today Col :( I haven't looked at the racing today, but in the 7.15 Red Alert is below his last winning mark and has halved in price. Would expect him to get placed at least. The 5.45 has to be between the two market leaders surely, with Attaboy Roy being the obvious one to win, a small RFC should make a profit (although not much)
 
I couldn't even muster a round robin for Newcastle this evening Col . Lets hope tomorrow fairs better.

Where did you find the info about the hearing panel Col? Or did you get it privately?

I ask because I haven't seen anything today here about it. Basically only said it started at 9:30 at an undisclosed location.
Racing is poor enough this week all around. I may have a go tomorrow.

The yard will get transferred into another license, horses will still run, he will still train them, just he won't be at the races.

My money obviously have the bookies running scared Red alert is into 11/8 in places, was 9/2 when i put it up on here lol

I don't think there could be a perfect outcome to it really.
In the next in the 645 I was going to take Spartakos EW but at 28/1 I think at the time I shied away from it

Exactly what Colin said re the horses.
Some staff will head to work "elsewhere with them" and legit will take up posts at other stables.

Noel Meade and DeBromhead will take stable staff to work with the horses Elliot had when they move to their stables. Mullins I'm not so sure

There'll be an impact. Rightly on Elliot not so fair on the staff who were entirely innocent. Having said that several staff members knew of this. He was not alone on the gallops when it happened quite some time ago.
We will never know the full story of what goes on behind closed doors obviously. but he was not the only guilty party here.
 
BHA Statement

Following confirmation regarding the 12-month suspension – the last six months of which are suspended – imposed by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) on Irish-licensed trainer Gordon Elliott, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has issued the following statement:

We welcome the fact that the Irish authorities have acted swiftly. The suspension will be reciprocated here in Great Britain. The existing restriction on Mr Elliott having runners in Great Britain will stay in place until the suspension takes effect on 9 March.

The IHRB Referrals Committee pointed to the fact that the photo showed appalling bad taste and demonstrates a complete absence of respect for the horse. We endorse these comments, and the view that respect is an integral and essential part of the duty of those in charge of animals.

Today’s decision confirms that horses will not be able to run at the Cheltenham Festival or Grand National Festival in the name of Gordon Elliott.

However, if horses are transferred directly to other licensed trainers prior to 9 March – when the suspension is due to commence – they will be able to run.
 
Red Alert drifted to 11/2 and came 7th
Maybe the trainer of that should be looked into
I really hate shit like that, was obviously fancied to be backed from around 9/1 into 11/8 then to drift to 11/2 before the off shows people knew it wasn't going to win.

1.00E Jarlath 4/1 4 places Has ran well over fences in similar races to this, winning a couple of time. Race doesn't have much depth after the favourite was withdrawn so can't see this not being placed.

1.45N Benny's Oscar not the most exciting price, but thought he would be closer to 1/2 than 4/5 and can't see anything beating it.

3.10E Shattered Glass is about the only horse I can see in this race with a chance of winning. 7/4

Doing a treble on those.

Tonight, in the 6.40S, think Daafr is a cracking EW bet. Ran on this surface 4 times, won 3, beaten into second by a short head the other time. 7/1 currently. Only 7 runners but Betfred going 3 places. Same race, Fieldsman is currently around 9/1 from 25/1 earlier today.

Yesterday was one of those days. One goal, scored in the 96th minute, last kick of the game, and a penalty, just to rub it in further, knocked me out a grand from a fiver.

3.20L Always Fearless De Sousa's first ride for a while and his only one on the card. The drift is slightly concerning but I'll take the chance at 9/1. It depends on if he gets an easy lead though, which I think he should. As usual a non runner has knocked it down to 2 places though.
3.55L Defo the outsider of the day, but A Pint Of Bear at 22/1 is a decent bet. Usually wins over 5f, he did come 2nd over this C&D a couple of runs back, while it was only a 3 runnner race, he wasn't beaten a length by the long odds on favourite. Might also do a small RFC with Charlie Fellowes at around 10's.

Not in love with today's racing. Did a lucky 15 on these four spending more than I intended to but I have been hitting the crossbar so much I decided to hedge somewhat on four short priced ones.

Had a free fiver bet from PP so did this might bet. All four of these to score anytime. The real hope here is the first two score so the interest lasts for the day.

Today I'll be watching Eng v Fra in 6nations rugby,
The players championship golf,
Probably try to watch my four horse picks run, depending on how the first two run.
I'll also take in Man City and Fulham later either way lots of sport to watch today.




As for the comp. Ya I like a sponsor sticking in a prize. I will run one for a tenner a man if there is more interest. Let's see who shows interest first.

After yesterday , 2 winners from 4 horses and only one goalscorer I have reverted to type.
By that I mean horses at a price which is value but also good for an each way "interest " bet.

So here are today's 4 to avoid

Those two bets and I still have an interest in two golfers of my original 6 going into the last day of the players championship.
No doubt I'll back a first try scorer in the Ireland v scotland rugby too.

Just in case some missed it
PP doing a €5 free bet on the first race Tuesday,the first race Wednesday, and any race Thursday at cheltenham this week. I'm sure there'll be plenty of other specials around but PP are usually the best at actually going out a free bet no catch.
It's a pity the betting shops are closed here. Although it will save me driving or walking from shop to shop taking advantage of specials lol.

Ok, so got round to looking at Cheltenham today in a bit more depth, and also had a preview chat night on my forum, and from everything, these are what I like. I probably won't back anything until tomorrow to keep an eye on any extra non runners, but these will likely be my ante-post selections, and then will have bets most days too

I have a pretty good idea which nags my money will be on for tomorrows racing but I'll wait until about mid day tomorrow before placing my bets. I'll be sure to take advantage of the Skybet offer for the first.

Wow surprise you not banned with paddypower ever man and hes dog seems to be bonus banned for that promotion
 
Back from my Bonanza break, and I have been building up some ante post bets for Cheltenham.
Going to really enjoy the next few days as it looks like the normal deadwood that usually enlarges the fields have gone so it should mean fewer hard luck stories.
Good luck to all indulging over the next few days and lets hope its a profitable week for us all.
 
Speaking of Paddy Power they have an enhanced special for tonights liverpool game.

Salah evens to have one or more shots on target. That should be a 1/5 shot.ax stake 20. I would be shocked if he doesn't have one on target.

Surprised earlier today i had the free fiver bet for Ladbrokes just stuck it on Honeysuckle if it wins means my account will be down to minus £90 lol slowly but surely going down without depositing.

Yeah did the bet on Salah earlier as well. The fiver free at PP i was always going to stick on the favourite as thought it was a good thing and any return puts another bet on. But been looking at Metier for a while so ended up going Metier just got a feeling fav will lose.

Will have a good look at everything tomorrow and put a bet on in work as nothing else to do but sit on phone all day. :laugh:

I’ve backed Goshen in the champion , but I’m really interested in James Du Berlais, first run for Mullins and it’s in the champion hurdle .. skybet are going 4 places so I might have a small ew bet on it.
Will do Metier in the first on skybet with their no lose bet offer, but I’ve a few bets on appreciate it at 15/8 and 7/4.
Im also on Next Destination at 4-1, Colter at 10-1 ew and that’s my first day antepost bets so I’ll do a lucky 15 tomorrow and see how they run.
I’m like a child on Xmas eve tonight , just hope I’m not disappointed with the presents tomorrow.
