Highest ranked casinos

So, was just looking at some of the casinos with the highest rankings, and thought 'hmm, I don't often see these casinos popping up in the threads - maybe because all is good and nothing to complain about' ...but then my second thought was 'well, shouldn't we then still be hearing good things about them, we don't just bitch here right?' So, thought I'd see if these guys are actually even bothering to come around or just resting on their laurels*:

Grosvenor rating: 9.3 Last activity 29th May 2013 07:57 AM
Ker-ching rating: 9.1 Last Activity 16th January 2013 08:04 AM
Paddy Power: rating: 9.3 Last activity:16th September 2013 03:02 AM
Sky Vegas: rating: 9 Last activity: 19th May 2013 04:13 PM

And that's a top few. Shouldn't these guys have to keep maintaining and earning their standing and making an appearance in the forum, otherwise get downgraded?

* as to whether reps have been in but the rep pages not updated, don't know - going by the reps as listed

It surprises me that Grosvenor are that highly ranked. Their bonus offers are way below par (and they basically don't offer them outside of UK), and the times I've tried to get in touch with support I've had to wait 24h+ on a reply.

Unfortunately I can't comment on experiences with Grosvenor from outside the UK, but from within I've found them very good, particularly their VIP offering. For example the first deposit every month attracts a bonus of 50% (up to £250) with only 1x wagering before cashout. The VIP reps are excellent and payment is always within 4 working days maximum.

Personally I think they deserve their accreditation and are streets ahead of the poor service you get from all the other UK bookies on line (with the exception of Betfred who are also excellent)

at 4 days, seems pretty poor to me - the UK places I frequent pay in under 24 hours.
But it wasn't about them being bumped from accreditation, rather their ranking. Their lack of presence was one indication - but hearing 4 days for WDs is even worse.

I take your point. Grosvenor are about 1 day longer on payout (to card/bank) than the other UK casinos I play at. Overseas can obviously be the same or longer in my experience

Seems like some of the reps. enjoy the chat and banter more than others.

What I like to see is when there is a thread about a certain casino, good or bad, the rep. chiming in without having been alerted or told about the thread or at least acknowledging the thread by thanking or WTG'ing.

Along with the ones mentioned in the OP I see 3Dice do that fairly often, I guess they do a search and see anytime their casino is mentioned in the forums. It probably also depends a lot on how and when the casino started up. Those that do participate often have gotten as much or more from the forum and owe at least some of their success to their participation here, more than say Paddy Power or Grosvenor.

I had wonder about it but also could it be that not many people on this board play there? I gennerally stay on Casinos that deal in CND funds. Those ones I think do not so cannot comment on them.

I wouldn't read too much into their absence from the forum. I've played at all of those 4 before, and never had an issue, delay or ID request from any of them! Just joined, played and w/d without obstacles and delays. I doubt if they ever get complaints hence their non-appearance here. No problem with resting on their laurels if those laurels are the best....

On the other hand, Ben etc. all of whom like to engage in a bit of banter or give advice on other popular topics when we need it have a higher profile because of it. Horses for course I suppose. The bottom line is that ALL of them whether frequent visitors or not are representatives of good sites with few issues, just the way playing should be.

I would say that Grosvenor are one of the best,at least for uk players. As already stated,if you acheive VIP status you receive a monthly 50% deposit bonus up to £250 and what really stands out is that this only has a 1x wr.I have never yet found a single other casino that offers a bonus with such a low wagering (although obviously i stand to be corrected!).The customer service is exceptional, withdrawals normally hit Neteller within 24 hours and withdrawals to cards take no longer than the standard time you would expect.I would emphasise that all this only relates to vip players so it may well be that others have found that the bonuses on offer are disappointing but for anyone looking to try out a new casino,i would definitely recommend Grosvenor.

That can only be for pretty big high-rollers (i.e. big losers) - no casino could afford to give out bonuses that generous to all and sundry! :eek2:

No, not only for big high-rollers or losers, but for all VIPs, although obviously therefore not for all and sundry.

TBH I don't deposit much there at the moment, mainly because overall I'm in profit (so certainly not a big loser!) and obviously more likely to lose than win on deposits, however I do take advantage of the £250 bonus (on a £500 deposit and 1x play through) on a monthly basis. As stated the wagering on the bonus is also 1x. Obviously there's a risk of losing even on this deal, but I think it's pretty good!

A bit of confusion here: there is no reverse time at GC and they do the processing same/next day. The amount of time it takes to arrive in your bank account depends on the processing service used. Most bookies, to a UK bank account, takes two working nights by BACs +/- 1 day but if a cashout is requested < > 4pm for example, that can mean 1 night extra to process.

The ratings you see on Meister are automated - not manual. They take into account aspects like reverse time (or lack of), cashout time, licensing jurisdiction quality, software platform, PAB occurences - all sorts. But not bonuses for a number of reasons: the complexity of calculating what makes a good bonus (if such a thing exists anymore lol) and the fact they change a lot being the two main ones.

It can never be 100% accurate and neither will everyone always agree but as a rough guide to a good, solid casino, it is pretty effective.

I am not a high roller either and i cannot honestly remember how i became a VIP..I was a regular player at one the Grosvenor land based casinos before joining online so that might have had something to do with it.Anyone can apply for VIP status through the website although i have no idea what the criteria are for acceptance.
Another thing to mention about the monthly bonus is that there is no 'weighting' on card games. You can play through your deposit and/or bonus on a low variance game like blackjack so for example,£500 on blackjack bets counts the same as £500 on slots.Considering the best i have seen at any other casino is a 20% contribution towards wr on blackjack,i think probably makes this the best value bonus around.
