I got a spam email today entitled double your money. It was just the usual daily crap trying to sign me up offering 100% bonus etc.

The casino in question was Golden Palace Casino (playtech) but what I found interesting was this at the bottom "Standard Bonus Rules with 20x wagering requirement apply. Players from Denmark, United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, The Netherlands and the Slovak Republic require 50x wagering"

I just wonder why the WR is so high for the UK,are we a high risk country? It doesnt exactly sell the casino to me or I suppose anybody in these countries listed. The address listed on the email was a london address, I guess this is just the address of the people sending out the spam.

lol...it's a well known fact, that people from those countries play slots AMAZINGLY well ;)
Wot a pile o' bs

Ithink you have got the thread title wrong. It should read 'High wr for KK'. The guy deserves it for consistently winning.:D

Golden Palace and Brandy casino were notorious for their stupid marketing tactics. Whilst this does not sit comfortably with most of us negative marketing is commonly used to promote products and instil 'memories' in consumers. Many players remember Golden Palace for their association with 'streakers' and in this regard they have successfully made potential players to recall their casino name. The fact that they are still in existence is solid proof that these marketing tactics do not always fail as they are aiming for a different slice of the market.

I would not think it would be "too risky" for the casino in the generally accepted sense of the word as far as the UK and Nordic countries are concerned, so perhaps their data-mining has thrown up overall stats that indicate that players in some of those countries tend to have a higher win rate, whilst the action from the others may be complicated by fraudulent incidents - ie a mixed precautionary measure?

UK players have long had access to "slots" in the form of fruit machines, and it is well known that a breed of "pro" players used to make money from them by playing skillfully. Although online slots are supposed to be random, ex fruitie players will be taking the same approach, playing to beat the machine by looking for patterns and strategies.

It is clear that despite protestations that no strategy can beat online slots because they are random, UK players ARE beating them, or at least the system as a whole, and this makes the operators fear putting their money where their mouths are. Increasing WR makes it less likely that a skillfull player will make it through the WR to cash in their gains.

There is no reason why other players can't learn similar skills, and it appears to be happening, reflected in the general tightening of terms, WR, and even RTP in some cases.

These rules seem more odd given that the usual strategies such as big opening bets on Blackjack and roulette followed by a grind on slots have already been ruled out by the terms, yet operators feel they STILL need to fear skillful play of "slots only" bonuses by this group of players, even on a phantom bonus.

I have been told by one operator that this comes from Playtech themselves in the form of an "advisory" to hike WR for this group of countries based on the pooled experiences of other Playtech operations. This is why this term appears in a brand new Playtech casino that cannot possibly have it's own data from it's own players to indicate certain player groups are better at playing slots than the rest.

KK has considerable success at beating the random slots with the right strategies and bonuses, so there is substantive evidence that it can be done, and randomness alone is no guarantee that "the house always wins".

i always thought the high WR were for countries associated with lots of bonus abuse...

Or you could say LOW WR are for countries with lots of "dunce" players who don't know when to stop chasing losses and/or cash out and resist the temptations to reverse.

It's a veiled attempt to discourage players from countries such as the UK, a slap in the face for the FIRST major country to recognise that online gambling was a legitimate industry that needed a framework of regulation, not a blind vendetta aimed at stamping it out. Other major countries have gone for the UK model of regulation, but many have gone for the US model of prohibition and protectionism.

Bonus abuse doesn't really exist. It is poorly designed offers that cause the problems, aided by unethical marketing designed to make the offers look like a "win win" situation for the player. They don't want the skilled players from the UK, yet they inundate us with spam via email, snail mail, and even TV ads to take up their supposed "win win" offers.

They don't like it when UK players see right through the bullshit, and ACTUALLY "win win" as advertised:p
