Good evening/morning!

I'm Phil and new to this place so just wanted to introduce myself. I've been around the casino scene for more years than I care to mention (and I'm not all that old!). Hope all is good, look forward to catching up soon...

Cheers

Working On My Site

Hi everyone,

Ok, firstly, not sure where I should (or if I can!) post my site here so I'm going to do it and tell me off/remove it if I've been bad! I've been working on this on and off for a few months and have a few questions.. Site is xhttp://www.ipadcasinouk.co.uk

Questions..

1) I have a full time job + kids and find it really difficult to find the time to work on the site. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you make the time? Do you work through the night?!
2) As you will tell from the site, I'm not a coder! Do you guys code your own stuff/have websites built for you/use wordpress etc? The problem I have with wordpress is it doesn't seem to be massively flexible..
3) Any other general feedback/advice would be well received..

Many thanks in advance, Phil

Hi Phil,

Welcome to Casinomeister. Sorry to be a pointy stick about these things but it's generally considered poor form for n00bies to hop on and start posting links to their own stuff. Generally speaking people are expected to participate in the forums to earn that privilege.

That said, you're usually okay if you just mention it and make it a non-clickable link (as I've done with yours).

Also, I noticed you've already Introduced yourself so I'll merge those threads. I'll assume there's no harm done.

Regards,
Max, Casinomeister.com

I'm not sure you're allowed to post the link, but you could ask to be included in the webmaster group.

Finding time is difficult, I hear that - I have a site too (on my sig) and it's taken me 2 years to get to this point and it's still far from being done. I do freelance work and when I have a big job my stuff just stays idle. I'm thinking a clone of myself would help. :)

Personally I use Wordpress because I really like it and you can do a lot of stuff with it - I know a little PHP so that helps. Anyhow good luck with your site, I don't have time to look at it too much at the moment but just wanted to respond.

Hi Max, no worries, thought that might be taking the pss a bit so thanks for the guidance and merging the threads.

Hey Clayton, that's exactly what I need too, a clone of myself :) Would love to dedicate more of my time, just doesn't seem to be any! Luckily I'm starting to learn a bit of JAVA/CSS through work so hopefully that might help me smarten it up a bit. Cheers for taking the time to respond, much appreciated..

1) Fortunately for me, I started my websites in 2006 = 2 years BEFORE I had kids. I was working full time at the time and did all my webby work in the evenings & weekends. Now, even though I don't work full time (my wife does), I still find it really hard to get a solid block of time for website work. I do some after the kids have gone to bed, but probably not as much as I should as I like to "chill" and actually play casinos in the evenings (who doesn't? :p)
2) Nor am I. My websites are made just using Word & Excel documents.
3) Work hard, only list reputable casinos *, and be VERY patient. If you're lucky, your hard work MIGHT be rewarded...

* Feedback on the casinos I see on your site:
Betfair and Winner Casino are in the ROGUE PIT here - this means you wont be allowed a signature link to your website if you continue to list them.
IMHO Will Hills and 888 have VERY untrustworthy affiliate programs. I have worked with both in the past - never again!
For me at least, Playtech casinos are terribly unpopular with visitors to my sites - try to focus on casinos using other softwares.

Cheers KK.
Had a read up on Betfair and they will be removed shortly. Their customer service is pretty shocking too.
The 888 affiliate site is appalling, looks like they haven't updated it for about 10 years. Again, will be removed shortly.
See that Will Hill & Winner are on the "not recommended" list, anywhere I can find out about the issues faced? Not doubting anyone, would just be interested in having a read about them.
Will take a look through the accredited list and see who I can get on board.
Cheers again, much appreciated

BEFORE Will Hills moved from Crypto software to Playtech in January 2009 AND "sold out" their affiliate side to the previously very dodgy, Isreal based, C-Pays group - I did OK with them.
But afterwards, according to them, in 20 months of promoting them I didn't bring in ONE single player. They had pretty decent bonuses at the time, so this was more than a little bit strange.

Winner Casino are just scum (like many other Playtechs) for the very simple reason that they allow players to play progressive games... BUT, if the player wins, they will hold on to the winnings Playtech give them and drip-feed it to the players over many YEARS. This money NEVER belonged to the casino at any point, and so this is just completely immoral.
This IS clearly stated in their T&Cs, but that doesn't make it any less immoral.

For good casinos - look in the Accredited list

Cheers again KK. I seem to have the same with Will Hill, a load of clicks but not a single player. As for Winner, that sounds bang out of order, not going to promote casinos who obviously stitch up their players. I will trust a man with your experience in these things  Thanks again mate.
