Hi everyone,

I decided to post here in hopes that some fellow members and friends would see this.

Long time member Jinnia, an affiliate and player advocate and a Damn good friend, had a horrible thing happen to her. Her home blew up, a natural gas explosion was the cause, and her home was totaled, along with five or more homes damaged and not livable. She has insurance, but, other than paying for a rental home and rental furniture, there is no cash getting to her yet. It will take time for the insurance and city gas to settle this. She lost her clothes, her glasses, her computers, her car, everything. It was a miracle she and her roommate and two dogs were not home at the time.

I have her address, and if anyone would like to send a card or contribution, I would be appreciative. She has helped lots of folks over the years, players through her websites, or not. She has gone to bat too many times to remember to better the industry. She is one Hell of a tough gal, but this is more than she has ever dealt with.

She is a Damn good friend and I hope her on line friends will help out. If you are interested in helping, I would really appreciate it.

Joanne

Jinnia is a great friend.
My Heart goes out to her & her family & friends I wish them well.
What Jod5413 has said is so very true about Jinnia & I say the same for her as well.

The proof of the story for all.

Jinnia has always been a doughty fighter for what is right in the industry, supporting screwed players in their efforts to get paid and warning others about the bad guys in the business - I remember in particular the sterling work she and the much lamented late Lanidar did on exposing the Virtual group.

I would therefore like to extend my sympathy to her - it must have been a helluva thing to come home and find it all literally blown away.

Geeze - what a terrible shame! My heart and good wishes go out to Jinnia and her entire family. What a horrible thing to happen. I hope they are able to salvage as much as they can. Losing stuff is one thing, but when you lose irreplaceable things like photographs and old family mementos - this is when one feels real loss. I hope she is well.

I wanted to bump this thread, since I forgot to say if you PM me I can give her address to you. It would really be appreciated. I also want to thank those who have already gotten in touch with me. Bless you all.

Joanne

Thank you to all that have gotten in touch with me. It is truly appreciated. Like I said before, anyone can PM me for her addy, even if it is just to send a card, telling her you are thinking of her. Times are being quite stressful for Jinnia right now. And it is not looking like it will be resolved quickly.

I am truly grateful for those of you that want to help.

Thank You, Guys.

Joanne

jod, BingoT, jetset, casinomeister, mojo, RobWin, lotso, Thank You for your kind words!!

I'm back online now. Roommate found the remains of my computer, the harddrive survived, but all else didn't.

I lost everything. Pictures of my children, from birth to present, their children, my Mothers antiques passed on to me, nothing left. Couple of my siblings are going thru their pictures and have copies made, so I'll get back some that way.

The link BingoT posted, the house half gone, that is my neighbors, you see nothing of mine, not one 2x4 left.

I thank God no one was injured or killed!! That was a true miracle!!

A natural gas leak in the utilities gas main caused this, but due to we were exchanging out a water heater, they are saying that was the cause, but, it was NOT! The heater was disconnected around 8 - 8:30am, we didn't leave the house until a little after 11am. No gas smell at all, besides, we both smoke and would have blown ourselves up.

I can't say much for now, due to city had their defense attorney on stand-by within a few hours after this disaster, so I contacted a close friend (retired) within the State department, and I have an attorney on stand-by now.

For now, that's all the information I can make public.

I thank all of you!!

Deb

Roommate just corrected me: Entire hardware in computer survived, except the CD drive. Case was twisted, front gone.

Glad to hear you and yours are OK... thats what is really important.

Stuff is stuff... it sucks when you lose it, but now you can look forward to getting new and better stuff... :D

I am very thankful no one was hurt!

I heard a mini-van was driving by and 3 children were hurt and taken to the emergency room, my heart just sunk. Later I found out they were ok, ringing in ears and one complaining of neck pain, but nothing serious, that's when I started breathing again.

That was the most important thing to me!!

Like Lots0 said Jinna, I too am glad to hear you and yours are OK... thats what is really important without a doubt as most material possessions can be replaced. I hope you also have a roof over your head and are getting some local help.

Was anyone home in that house that you said was not your house? It looked like it was totally destroyed as well.

I got your address from Jod too so watch your mail..:)

Yes, no one was seriously hurt, that is the most important thing!!

I'll be watching, but Rob, you didn't need to do send anything. Times are hard for everyone, and need what they have to take care of themself and family. Even the price of a postage stmp needs to be kept. Gee, you brought a smile and a tear!

Nashvegas, thank you!! I truly appreciate your offer to help!!

I'll PM you, but with a thank you only.

Dang, Jinnia!!

Do not be such a pill! :p Over the years I have seen you help tons of people, and it is not bad to take help when needed! I have known you a long time, and I distinctly remember you offering someone a place to live, even though you didn't know them that well, cuz they had nowhere to go. Everyone needs help from their fellow man sometimes.

Take the help, say thanks, and go buy some underware!!! :D

{{chirp chirp}} :p

Yes jod, I remember offering a little birdie a cage at my place. That is what I do, help whoever, whenever, with what ever I can. I have never asked for help, just try to give it.

When a couple of birdies keep chirping, the generousity just comes in, I have no choice but to accept it, of which, I am completely at loss for words, for the kindness several has shown me, it's just unbelievable!! Such GREAT people!!

Stay safe!

"Merry Christmas"

Deb

Hello Jinnia,

I thought it time to pop in to find out how you are getting along. Has the city made any proposals to you regarding your house? Where are you living and are your pets able to stay with you? Do we need to ship up a care package of old lady under drawers & flannel nighties? If the answer is yes we will need to know the appropriate size. Jod said you were a "Pill" but are you a big pill? :p

Seriously, are things getting any better for you? I know that Jod is keeping an eye out for you and that Rob, Nash, Mojo and several other members came by and pledged their support but is there anything specific that you are struggling with?

Hoping to hear you are settled in somewhere,

Cynthia

Hey Cyn!

I have not heard from Jinnia in a few days, I know she has been simply overwhelmed at the people on line that have sent their thoughts and prayers her way. The donations helped keep her in necessities, like food for her and her dogs, since the insurance company hadn't seen fit to get anything to her for that yet. Last I heard, she is starting to make a bit of progress, slowly but surely. I'll give her a heads up about your asking.

I know she has got a long road ahead of her, yet she remains optimistic, one of the reasons I love her so much, she slaps the heck out of me if I get ""snarky"! :p

I am grateful to all that helped my friend, now we need to focus on the bigger issue of Haiti. It's a hard world sometimes.

Hi Cynthia,

Things has been standing still. Insurance did pay off on the dwelling (house) but since I'm not going to remain in this God Forsaken town, the mortgage company wanted paid off, so signed the check, sent it to them over night mail (Dec. 29th), still waiting to receive what little will be left from that to at least begin to rebuild in another town/county. They are taking their own sweet time.

Nothing on the content, but agent called yesterday saying it'll be mailed soon.

Struggling with? Stress, weight loss, non-stop headaches, oh yes, and the city!!! The latest: Fire marshal woke me around 2:30pm, just today, served me with a search warrant to search this rental place. Went through entire house and all belongings, taking pictures. They were here an hour, maybe a few minutes more.

Read me my rights and asked questions about the day of the incident, I answered. I called my friend (retired State Representative) while they were here, and told him who was here (4 of them) and what they were doing, he said let them do whatever they want, but now this is nothing but total harrassment!!!!

That is my WONDERFUL life for now!!

Thank you Cynthia for asking.

Deb
