Has Viaden sold out?

I noticed some Viaden games at a PT casino and decided to play them.

They bear no resemblance to the equivalent games at the actual Viaden casinos (Trada/Monaco Aces) other than they look the same, but they behave entirely differently.

'House of Scare' is a good example - the bonus round, which can be very lucrative in the casinos mentioned above, is truly appalling. When you choose a character to race, you are allocated a total which you will win if that character wins. In my case, I chose the ghost, and would have won the grand sum of $1 if it came first. The girl would have won the grand sum of $4 if I had chosen her. Truly insulting as my actual bet was $5.

'Jour de L'Armour' is another - in the FS rounds at the Viaden casinos, there are more wilds, so you can hit big. Not so with the PT casino - the number of FS has been increased to 5 (with 3 Cupids), but no more wilds, and as any winnings are only x1 bet, the results are again truly ghastly.

I love the original Viaden games, but this has left a nasty taste in my mouth, as I thought they were the 'genuine' article, but in fact they are nothing like it.

Viaden, can you please explain?

These are either knocked off copies at rogue casinos, or it reveals something VERY disturbing about the nature of Viaden games, and the way operators can mess about with the RTP and gameplay.

The two casinos in question are: Grandwild and Casinoluckywin. I know the latter is bad news (so why am I playing there? I actually thought they were another casino.....was obviously having a senior, blonde moment...or even a blonde, senior moment.) Shame on me!

Unlike some of the other knock-offs we have seen over the years, these games are the original, as far as I can tell, except for the paytables.

Rather than questioning the 'disturbing nature of Viaden games etc...', is it possible that Viaden re-designed a different version of the games, specifically for the casinos in question? That would not be illegal or anything, as far as I can tell, other than players who have played at either Trada/Monaco Aces would be expecting the version of the game they played there, and would be caught out by the new behaviour.

Can someone from Viaden confirm/deny this? Or if indeed these games are knock-offs, then Viaden need to be made aware in any case.

It would not be illegal in the sense that Viaden's copyright would not be violated, but to have such VASTLY different versions of the SAME game would relegate Viaden software to the "dodgy" category. Players expect that the same game would have the same game engine no matter where it is played. This also goes way beyond the dodgy RTP policy of having three different RTP settings for each game that can be configured to suit the operator as RTG do it via the reel strips, whilst there is evidently much wider scope for tampering in this Viaden example as the bonus rounds and paytables have been altered, along with the possibility that the reel strips have also been changed. This effectively makes it a different game, and it is deceptive to make it appear to be the same game as the original.

.......but to have such VASTLY different versions of the SAME game ...This effectively makes it a different game, and it is deceptive to make it appear to be the same game as the original.

Just checked 'House of Scare' again....at Trada/Monaco Aces, the scaretters (lol!) can only appear on reels 1,3,5 and if 2 appear, all the other reels spin to try to get a match. The result is quite a substantial cash prize.

In the casinos I have mentioned above, the scaretters can appear on any reel, and if 3+ occur, free games are awarded.

In other words, nothing like the original at all, and as VMW says, this surely makes it a different game.

How can you "think you were playing at another casino"....?? That one has me stumped.

The casinos you mentioned should be avoided, for the benefit of those reading.

I received an email from Trada Casino just now which said in part:

Our current provider, XP Capital Ltd, who offer Viaden Games, has opted not to renew its operating license, which expires on 10th January 2014.

Looks like Viaden are out the door, and are perhaps licensing their games to other operators in a different form.

The casino was recommended by a friend.... I didn't bother to check its credentials so thought it was a bona fide casino. No mystery, so you can now get unstumped.

Shame about Viaden and Trada....loved the original version of their games. The new version? Not at all.

Hello everyone, and happy New Year! :)

Just to confirm that I'm aware of this thread, but due to our holidays here in Belarus I'll be back only in Friday.

As you may know, Playtech bought Viaden about 1,5 years ago: https://www.casinomeister.com/gambling-news/

So, now the company is focusing on Playtech's products, social poker and health and fitness (we recently purchased domains sport.com and yoga.com). Trada Casino will continue its operations, but under different license. Monaco Aces has already moved under different license.

Regarding the difference in slot games, I will need to clarify this with the managers first.

Thanks!
Viktar.

That is sufficient clarification for me as to why things seem to be going downhill with the Viaden games. It would appear that innovation has been replaced by the bog standard game engine concepts of 3 scatters for a bonus round, etc. This is a case where bog standard is seen as a worse overall experience than the original Viaden bonus round structure. I would presume it to be a one off redesign to fit the games into the Playtech game engines rather than implement the Viaden game engines in the Playtech portfolio. As such, I would not expect to see further tinkering of these games as it would question the received wisdom that Playtech, unlike RTG, Top Game, Rival, etc, do not mess around with old games, the same assurances players get from Microgaming products.

However, keeping the name the same has confused those players that played the Viaden originals.

Hello everyone,

I would like to apologize for the confusion regarding Viaden. Playtech did not purchase the company.

Hi all,

I can confirm that TradaCasino will be switching to the Pariplay platform, offering Microgaming games amongst others in the near future. We will experience some down time, as communicated to existing players over email, from 10th January until launch. Balances will of course be migrated to our new platform and you will be notified of launch.

As an accredited casino, we of course invite all feedback from forum members on the new product when live.

Regards,

The TradaCasino Team

Pariplay is what Wintingo changed to for a while from MG flash.

It is absolutely crap awful. The slots are appalling.

I sincerely hope Trada have a LOT of MGS games, and other providers, or they may as well get ready to close up shop.

If anyone hasn't tried the pariplay games, go try them for free somewhere and you'll know what I mean.

I'm sure Trada are stand up guys...this is not a value judgement about them as a company....just their (IMO) very poor choice of software.

I get the impression Pariplay is an open platform a la Quickfire as well as a game developer. Trada suggest they are using the platform which may bundle the Pariplay games but would include others - sounds OK to me if that is the case, and with Quickfire spins being so slow, may even be a better choice.

Yes, you're probably right.

IIRC, there's no issue with lag with the pariplay games....they're just shite. Many of the slots are actually 5 scratchcards in a row made to look like a slot, and the others are just awful.

Who knows, maybe others will like them. I'd be surprised TBH, and that added to the fact that one can play MGS slots just about anywhere now, doesn't bode well for Trada IMO.

HI all,

I had never heard of Grandwild and Casinoluckywin being customers of Viaden. I am not sure where they got the software from but I can assure that previously Trada and ourselves were running the same RTP´s which were the ones that had been certified by the Isle of Man Gambling association. I doubt these other Casinos are officially running the Viaden Software.

As above mentioned we already moved on a while ago to a different Platform but keeping the Viaden Games at our Casino. We are receiving many positive critics about these Games so we will stick to them for some time of course. We added the MG Games as they give us more quantity, many of our players were blaming that we should increase the amount of Games, so we did.
During the first 6 months of 2014 we will happily announce a further development at our Casino.

I hope some of you guys enjoy playing at MonacoAces.com.

Please feel free to send me PM or even at our thread in case you have any questions, critics or suggestions, we are always keen to hear players opinions and will do our best to keep you happy. :D

Thanks a best regards, :notworthy
