Just now (at 6.10am UK time), I logged into 32Red to play The Dark Knight....only to find that it isn't there.

Is this some kind of indicator that the MEGA jackpot has been won sometime within the past hour...or even half an hour?

Does the game get "pulled" while the win is being verified?

I just found it strange that it would be currently unavailable, given that Fortune Lounge are doing a triple rewards points-based promo involving The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises slots.

According to Casinolistings jackpot tracking the last time Mega Moolah Mega jackpot was won over 8 weeks ago. I think it's just somekind of maintenance at Microgaming, since Mega Moolah Mega games were down on all Microgaming casinos. That 6 am UK time is pretty common time to start doing some maintenance. While there might be more potential players than hour or couple earlier, at least you won't have to mess up the sleep rhytm of the people doing the maintenance and pay more for them for waking up so early. Or of course they could have started maintenance at 4 am but it is just taking longer than usually.

Maybe Vinyl's found an 'emptier' system for it.....:D

I dont think its available on flash anymore, I was looking to play it last week and had to download the casino

I just asked 32Red's live chat that what is up:

this is to inform you that the Dark Knight slot has been replaced by the Dark Knight Rises

So looks like they pulled the slot - too bad as it was one of my favourites :( I hope they'll attach the jackpot to a new release like Game of Thrones or something as the Moolah slots are just too boring for my taste (it wasn't added to Dark Knight Rises atm anyway).

I never played The Dark Knight anyway.
Imo it was a bad slot because it had a jackpot attached to it.
Too much of the RTP goes into the jackpot I think.

Since the jackpot technically doesn't belong to 32Red they must do something about it.
Like another member mentioned; transfer it to another slot.

I've just tried at Unibet and BetVictor and it is available at both.

Still available @ Stan James too...

Edit to add that although it appears to not be available at the download casino's I have installed, it is available in flash via sites running Quickfire (Betat, Betsafe, VideoSlots, etc).

When 'Lord of the Rings' slot was pulled, 'The Dark Knight' was released soon after (with the same progressive), so I'm in no doubt this will happen / a new slot released (in some form) with the same linked progressive.

From memory, these brands are owned by Warner, as is Game of Thrones, so perhaps... :D (Please note this last bit is pure speculation on my behalf, so please don't take it as being truthful (or berate me if I'm wrong!)).

My VIP manager at Fortune Lounge mentioned they were rolling out Game of Thrones soon with a big fanfare. Most likely this will be attached to the Progressive set-up like TDK.

I just played it on 32red downloadable client so it's anyones guess what is going on. Just wandering why the cs told me that it had been replaced and now it's back :what:

All very confusing :what:

That would be a nice compromise. BTW Nicola, any word from that VIP manager at Fortune Lounge regarding their pulling out of the UK market?

I never played Lord Of The Rings, as I didn't start my online slotting until late 2011. Judging by some of the big win screenies I've seen, it looked like a good slot. Whilst it may be pure speculation on your part that TDK could be replaced by GOT, I have a feeling that you are not going to be proved wrong.

Agreed re: the other Moolah slots.....I find them incredibly boring.

This is gonna sound weird/contradictory, but I feel like TDKR is the one with lower RTP, even though TDK is the progressive slot. Even on TDK sessions where I have had (big) losses, it has produced the odd 50x bet or better hit along the way. On TDKR, I am lucky to see one win greater than 25x bet in a 500 spin session. As for the way fight mode is triggered (4 or 5 fights in the first 100 spins to build up the free spins counter, then nothing for 400 spins while you wait for the one fight you need to get the multiplier increase) , that really ticks me off. All too often (almost always in fact), you lose £x to get the free spins and only get 80% of £x back at best. The super stacked reels are super-invisible and the choose your wild...well pffft...you pick Lt. Gordon as your extra wild and he disappears for the entire round. Pick anyone else and he turns up on every bloody spin, sometimes as many as four of him on one spin. It just seems to be ridiculously tight.

I really enjoy TDK, but there would be no need to replace the jackpot as long as other Mega Moolah slots are in place as it is the same jackpot across all the games.

We got the same jerking around with LOTR. It made no sense because Microgaming do not need to stick to an upper limit of the number of games they have available, in fact it seems having more games than the competition is used as a selling point, and mass cloning of slots is practiced in order to inflate numbers without going to the trouble of designing new games.

If they are pulling TDK, it's because like LOTR they have had legal issues with the licensing, and would therefore not be following the strategy outlined in the earlier press releases. TDK is nothing more than LOTR II with different reels, so if they do the same again by changing TDK reelstrips to the Game of Thrones, they have repeated the process of getting another high profile brand licence without having to do much in the way of development of a slot game to use it on.

We may see other games being changed or pulled against the tide of normal policies because of the control the licensor has over the licensee. For a long time, Microgaming simply didn't retire old games. It's only relatively recently that we have seen the habitual retirement of games by MGS, often after a relatively short lifespan.

Despite having lost the most recent Mega Moolah linked slot twice (assuming TDK will get permanently retired), the original game of the series, and the only one for some while, is still going strong. The three later additions, conversions of non progressive MGS games, are also still going strong. The difference is that other than LOTR and TDK, these other variants do not use licenced brandings, they are the creation of MGS.

We may find that the new Game of Thrones slot is only going to be on a fixed term licence, and when this ends, it could get pulled.

Perhaps MGS should consider licencing the Casinomeister brand to produce another Casinomeister slot variant.:)
