I love Canadians for some reason.

Happy Thanksgiving...could you tell us Americans what is on the dinner plate?

Our Thanksgiving consists of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams/sweet potatoes/ turnips, and my favorite...cranberry sauce. Of course it may differ from person to person, but that's what we have.

Yesterday we had turkey AND ham, stuffing, mashed spuds, gravy, green bean casserole, yams, assorted other veggies, and odds and ends like dinner rolls and cranberry sauce. The table was absolutely groaning. After dinner we ALL were. For dessert, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and apple pie with ice cream. And lots and lots of all different colors of wine before and during and after.

Today...leftovers. Tomorrow...leftovers. The next day...leftovers. But the great thing about having Thanksgiving earlier than in the US is that we can finally finish our leftovers and be ready for another turkey by Christmas!

We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, turnip and carrots. With pumpkin pie for dessert. Can't say that I have a ton of leftovers, as I picked at them through the night, lol. I love my turkey, I just hate all the work that goes into it. And there is never enough stuffing.

Hope my fellow Canucks all had a great Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is not quite the hoopla it is in the US, but we can always be thankful for a good meal!

Pan-seared duck breast with a cranberry and shallot compote here, with sauteed swiss chard and wild and brown rice, with blackberry topped cheesecake for dessert.

Making duck confit with the rest of the duck today. I did buy a turkey while they were cheap, so there will be a turkey day in my future.
