I have a friend who, if he spots the postman coming down the drive, gets on all fours behind the door and angrily barks as the mails put through, dont know what the postman thinks but his kids love it.

Canada can be weird.
It's just one country, but iI think some people forget how immense it is, so there's bound to be differences from one part to the next.

Granted it's much more uniform across the board, than say, one European country to the next (or even one US state to the next) but still differences

Germany is 83 million big, but still smaller than spain that is only 47 million big.
