Today, 1st April 2026 marks fifty years to the day that Apple came into being, having been founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak on 1st April 1976.

Yesterday saw the Apple Store closed for updating. New products I thought!

Wrong!!

When it came back up online several products had had their prices increased!! Even the NEO wasn't left alone, going from £599 to £699!

All apparently due to the continued shortage of memory and storage, driven by AI Datacenters buying them all up.

So far the iPhones have been left untouched, but I expect it will be only a matter of time. :-(

Ah man, thats such a shame that they increased the price.
Apple used to be so cheap.

They started releasing overpriced mediocre tech products as a joke, but people kept buying them so they just kept going.
Credit where credit is due, surely it must be the longest running April fools joke out of them all.

That Apple logo has made even more money than the Nike tick logo.

On occasion, both companies have been known to supply usable goods with them.
