after reading your post i must agree the fun is starting to fade. first of all, nitro stopped replying. second my lawyer wouldnt let me touch this with a ten foot pole. i could show up just for kicks but it's a waste of time. this guy is full of it. for curiosity i will call my boys at the hilton and ask about the high rollin doctor/lawyer. if he is so open on this forum i'm sure he cant keep his mouth shut down in a.c. so if he exists someone will know. he wants happy to sign confidentiality papers but being the center of attention seems to be what he's about so that makes no sense. explaining a 50k gift, to a stranger, to the irs, is something the good doc probaly didnt think of as well. if he is who he says he is then he can p.m. me and he can stop by my table on my next trip to say hello. and for the record i do know people who would blow this kinda money to make a point. it doesnt make you cool though. it makes you look stupid. happy tell him to western union you 10k. i mean if he's gonna send a jet for you and give you all this money 10k is nothing for him to prove his point and earn "respect" on this forum. ahh doc i hope i'm never sick.

as for nitro's story, it looked suspect because:
-he seemed quite excited to win the first hand and be playing on 25k of the house's cash
-he didn't mention he was playing with >600k more back to be able to split, double, double on the big hand
-the run of cards is ridiculously unlikely (low then high then low then high on his draw, and splitting sevens versus dealer nine is not an advisable play)
-the story ended with the dealer revealing a 16, so the hand isn't even complete
-the amount of money involved is incomprehensible to nearly everyone

as for me and the offer:
nitro must be busy cuz i haven't heard from him other than some brief public postings the past couple days. the great thing about being a lawyer who's also a doctor, no need to chase ambulances cuz all the victims come right to you. another perk, can defend yourself in malpractice claims. another plus, the admirable profession of doctor offsets the despicable reputation of being a lawyer. anyways, i'm sure nitro's not backing out, just has stuff to do other than live on this site.

I just happen to be in Atlantic City at the time of reading this thread. The only reason I asked to do this was because I was right next door!!! Im not trying to step on anyone's toes, I just saw people saying he was full of crap. Like I said in the past, I dont read every single post. I saw what he said and others saying he was full of crap and HGB offering to drive down. Since I was next door, it made more sense, dont you think?

hey babs! his words were directed at me and chuch, the doubting thomases. granted you seem to doubt him now as well, but i bit first! he's got me on the line, so to speak, and he can't extend himself to cover you as well. however, it might make things infinitely easier if you go instead of i. it was going to be tough for nitro to get me flown down, and for me to get my expired passport ass down there, as well as many other hang-ups that made the deal unlikely to happen.

babs, since you aren't in it for the prize money, you could "play my deal for me" and just send me the winnings. that way, nitro only has to make the offer to one person, you get the free room and fun times, you'd bring the knowledge of the area and a chaperone to the event, i don't have to travel there (and nitro won't need to book a flight) and risk the disappointment, and i get the money i badly could use should you win. i don't feel bad taking a handout from a punter with more money than sense (paraphrasing what simmo once said). you'd be like robin hood. hope you know basic strategy and will bet $1k/hand flat. card counting abilities and acting abilities with a predisposition to hem/haw about decisions are beneficial assets. this gets you the fun of playing like a high roller, and it saves me a bunch of hassle and red tape.

babs and nitro, you guys down with that modified version of the deal? it would save headaches associated with my actually being the one to do it, and it would give babs a great feeling, and it would prove nitro for being truthful. thoughts?

I don't care if Nitro is a doctor or dillhole, people are or aren't going to talk to him either way.

He did make the initial offer to HGB, and if HGB is going to have a problem going then it's Nitro's decision to then make an offer or not to someone else.

HGB's idea of having Babs send him the money made me spit out my drink, no offense HGB, but come on!!!

I just happen to be in Atlantic City at the time of reading this thread. The only reason I asked to do this was because I was right next door!!! Sounds like you are in it more for the money Happygobrokey than the thrill of the high stakes play. I would have thought any one would want to prove their BJ skills with an offer like this. if your having problems with your passport that can be worked out and just puts a delay on things. I mean has some one put a time limit on this event, I haven't seen one. Either way hope it works out for you.

the problem is the rush and the lack of information. he's being very vague, but also trying to get this done in a slap-dash manner. i want to know exactly what's going on and have some kind of guarantee about what's to take place.

babs said she was not interested in accepting his money. i merely suggest she can offload some or all of the winning payoff to me, since it was because of me that the offers came about to begin with. if there was a prize going to the first claimant, and you claim it in writing, but someone else who happens to be closer goes in person and is allowed to claim it, feels like being robbed (nothing personal babsy). other possibilities are that both babs and i go simultaneously (hopefully for separate prize money), or that babs' husband can play my deal for me, and babs her own. or i can wait for babs to go, hope that nitro's really on the level, and hope that nitro will still give me the deal if and when it's plausible for me to go.

as far as i could see, and i may be tipping my hand here, but i don't even see it possible to play twenty hands in 25 minutes, and even if 30 hands are played, that it's near impossible to lose twenty units in that space, so long as the player doesn't deviate from betting 1k per hand. in my eyes, it's a lock and that's why i was so excited to try it. i don't really see blackjack as a skill game, i mean you can count cards to increase your odds, but the cards still fall as they are randomly distributed in the shoe. i am certain i have enough "skill" to not lose twenty grand in 25 minutes, but "not losing" isn't what i would call a great skill.

there is a time limit on this, but as the date is to remain confidential, it has not been posted openly what kind of time frame we're looking at. suffice it to say that a passport takes perhaps six weeks without formal documentation of an urgency to travel and paying twice as much to be accommodated in such a way. for the money it would cost to get the passport done in time, i could just spend that towards gas and drive it, as land crossing only requires photo id and birth cert. i feel like nitro is rushing things in order to create confusion and apprehension, thus making it prohibitive for me to come, and as such relieving himself of the obligation through my default.


@ nitro: i urge you to be more forthcoming with the details, and forward the relevant documents if you indeed intend to go through with this. i would love for you to extend the offer to babs so long as the offer to me still stands, and if we were allowed to come at the same time to do it, then that makes both of us safer in accepting your offer, and i'm sure she and i and her husband can all share a room without difficulty (especially a suite like you said you were providing) if you can't squeeze a second room out of the casino. but you must understand my desire to have it in writing exactly what you expect to take place, so i'm not undertaking a trip like this without knowing what i'm getting into. keep me posted, uncle nitro!

Let me just say this

I got a PM (private being the key word) and will tell you if or when I go as well as HGB from what I hear but that is all I am saying for now because if someone PM's you, they dont want it on the forum and I must respect that.

details are a little sketchy but I wanted to say one thing about HGB wanting the money. If he is going to give me the money, I am going to keep it. My point was to him(nitro) that it was not necessary to prove a point but that was the deal and he wants it that way. If someone is giving me money, Im going to keep it, Im not stupid and I wouldnt ask anyone to give me money that someone gives them. Plain and simple. As I said to HGB, Im not easy street either. We need a car and Im on SSD, so if he does give me the $25K, it's because I earned it. I hope HGB does go and hope he has the chance and I even offered to back out and told him to go but Nitro invited me and my husband and Im not going to turn it down.

After being here for over a year, you ought to know that Im not underhanded nor malicious, it just turned out this way. It's not my call, Im just writing thoughts in this forum like everyone else and like I said before, I thought he was there this weekend and I was right next door.

Im gonna let it go at this and not divulge anything else in here unless nitro wants me to, except if we do go then of course I have to tell you if this really happened and if he really is a whale, that was the whole point of this subject

Aids Research
911 Victims Fund
The Homeless
Food Banks
HEART and Stroke Foundation
Lunch Programs to feed the many, many kids who go to school hungry everyday because they can't afford to eat!

Oh? You've donated to charities and such? Well donate some more!! There can never be enough money for such causes.
