I've been given a free ticket to GSOSII and was wondering if it is worth playing?(Appreciate the ticket BTW!)

Just looked and it has 999 rebuys each with 5 continues and both at a cost of $20 each.
So $100 per round you play.
(Do rebuys cancel your last score or is it the highest score out of all the rebuys you purchase?)

I don't have very deep pockets and can't afford to do more than a couple of continues or rebuys and after reading a lot of threads here about the MG Tourneys and a winning position being able to be bought I am wondering if it's even worth trying or will I be wasting my money as someone with tens of thousands of dollars will buy the winning place?

If so then I won't bother.....
(It is a very unfair structure for a tournament if that is the case? Only the rich have a chance to win something big and will get richer....Always the way! RTG tourneys you get one shot at it....No rebuys or continues....So it doesn't matter how much or little money one has! Much better IMO!)

Only the highest score counts.

A rebuy means you can completely restart the game, without losing your highscore. The buyin for the GSOSII is $200, the rebuys are $20. Rebuys can be done "unlimited".

Continues mean you can extend your play, keeping (and improving) your score. Continue can be done 5 times (each round) and also cost $20.

The best advice i can give you is play (and rebuy) until you got a very good score. When you hit that, most of the time it is a very good idea to use continues to get the best possible highscore. If you are not satisfied at the result you can always rebuy afterwards.

I understand that it looks like you have to got deep pockets for this, but remember it's a $320K tournament and still increasing with every rebuy. There is a lot of money to be won.

Of course you ALWAYS play the ticket, because it's worth $200 and you won't get it refunded in cash!

Good luck!

BTW... Why so much empty space in your post ?

Put a full stop further down the post when I edit because I hate the edit post thing appearing under the main text in a post.....Call it a quirk! lol:D

Ofcourse its worth playing!

If I remember right, the first 290 positions pay, so if you hit a nice wildstorm or a few decent freespinrounds, big chance you'll end 'in the money', as there are only 1500 players.
Just wait with buying continues until the last day of the tourney, and only buy them if you have a realistic chance of improving your position.

Who knows, you might hit a 5 reel wildstorm and walk away with the top prize!;)
$111.500.- and counting.:D

Good luck Gremmy, kick some a$$!!!:thumbsup:

I've been lucky enough to be given a ticket also. Watch for me as Hippolucious, ty Wayne and RedFlush.

I've been wondering who else is playing (either through purchasing or a win) and under what Aliases?

I don't think my pockets are deep enough to take home top dollar, but I'd love to see some of our CM friends finish in the money!

I do miss there being odd places for prizes like last year's grand slam of slots, and it's only top scores that will win.

It's no dfferent to a lottery really. The more tickets you buy the greater the chance of winning - and the higher the win-pot goes for everyone :)

Keep your eyes peeled for Muppet_man ;)

Does anybody else have problems playing all the chips before playtime is over ?

I received a free Ticket from 32Red(Didn't think it was polite to say so seeing as there was a thread with a tournament to win a ticket and I was given a free ticket by Mark! Thanks Mark!)

936 atm ... and only gonna drop ...sorry guys, you'll have to find someone else to finance your winnings ;)
Don't like the way these tourneys are set up at all, and was only in, because I won a ticket.

I agree completely.

It should have been called High Roller GSS II.

The big prizes will be taken by those with big pockets. I was offered a free ticket but refused, as it wasn't really a free entry as I would have to spend $100 to have any chance at all.

I would be happy to pay $100 for a ticket if it was one entry per player, no rebuys or continues but not when others will spend $10k+ and have 100x more chances.

That was the point of my OP!:D

Was wondering if it is worth blowing $200 on a tourney that someone will spend $10k to $15k knowing that they will win $100k+

Even if I had it I wouldn't spend $15k for a tourney online as there's always the chance you could get some really crappy results through all the rebuys and continues and still finish not in 1st place.

Another thought....

If someone by some miracle wins the bonus prize how is it paid?
I can't see them posting $2,000,000+ worth of gold to my address and me having to walk to cashies with a sack truck to trade it in for $'s! :eek2:

Seems like a stupid prize and $2,000,000+ in cash would have been better!

Most people(such as myself!) wouldn't have a clue what to do with $2mil in gold or even where to take it to get money?(DO you go to your local Zamels and try and sell it to them?) Where do you even pick up your prize?(and who supplies the armoured truck and security guards to cart it around?):eek2:

I know that my local Woolies doesn't take gold bullion as payment so it is pretty useless to most of us as a prize!

Not that anyone will win it anyway as I have played TSII for over 2 years and have never hit 5 wilds or scatters and the likelihood of hitting all achievements in 5 18 min continues is probably below zero!(I Have more chance of resurrecting Princess Diana, courting her and becoming the new King of England!:p)

It's really all about getting the Wildstorm wth 4 or 5 reels. You can buy as many rebuys/continues as you like but chances are, whoever gets that wins. Like any slot tourney, it just takes one spin...

GS2

200 spins ive played on it so far , first go , not one bonus round or not one set of 5 wins , took 1 mintue for just the first spin then went alot quicker , judging by 200 spins & not a set a 5 OAK is it worth wasting funds on it?

imho no.

Personally i wouldn't continue with a score less than 100K, maybe even 150K.

hi thx people , think maybe a need to do a rethink on it , poor start , problem is should i have a go at it or should i just stick with normal play & just play normaly , on one hand i very rarely play any tournaments so would be a change for me , but i can afford to throw some money at it on the other hand i could split these funds & play at 10 or 12 different casinos , spreading my bets as such or do i just chance it & give it a good go ?

Are all the bonus games available or is it like single player where you have to unlock them one by one?

Bonus games are normal procedure - starts with the 10 free what'sherface, then 15 Loki spins, then 20 the birds thing...
AND it's 5 of each before you progress to the next one.
In 2 complete rebuy and continuation sessions, think I got to Loki once!
Little chance of reaching Thor's rolling reels I'd reckon.

However ... don't let that stop you :D

Got a doozie of a screenshot to post (itchin - but :p will save it for now.)

Ah this sucks, never gonna reach Loki in only 195 spins (The only feature that can pay well in my experience of TS2).

GSOS? just Do it!

Ah this sucks, never gonna reach Loki in only 195 spins (The only feature that can pay well in my experience of TS2).

After 4 years dabbling, this might be my farewell note.
Determined to quit slots play for good, my final "shot" was to try for a GSOS entry.
Forget the 2.4 million carrot. Absolute joke that is!
But at $290 grand and 290 prizes, I reckoned it's fair value for someone who's a loser anyway!
Finally got in.
4 years of slots online and nothing to show for it, other than the callouses on my bum from so long sittin here watching the wheels go round n round...

Did ok on Thunderstruck 11 early in May but no luck lately. Down maybe $800 on it for the month?
Anyway, deposited my first $100 for GSOS. Nothing!
Then another $200 - having sort of set myself a limit of $500.
Would I stop there? Should I? Will I?
God knows.
Prize pool is already $70,000 higher than at start - and a third of the players registered haven't even begun playing yet!!!

One Freebie, 3 Buyins, 9th Continuation. $240 worth already.
Whammo!
GSOS has me reasonably well placed (for the moment at least)

Reluctant to post a screenshot, but whenever a decent tournament comes our way, I see a people mouthing off about how unfair it all is and how "deep pockets" virtually "guarantee" the big prize.
That's baloney boys n girls.

You assume that $10k worth of purchases is definitely gonna turn up a jackpot along the way?
And it will be the winning spin for them?
What if it only manages say 5th or 6th on the ladder?
Big bankroll just as likely to leave them with as mediochre a score as anyone else ...
And how many hours would you need to assign to the project?

You can't BUY luck!
4 days in and indeed, many are trying.
But we get just 195 spins for our $20 buy in.
Up to 750 spins for each $120 session - merely offering a chance to beat your previous best score; But remember, you start afresh each time!

Biggest surprises come when least expected and I sure wasn't expecting this one... never saw anything like it in normal TS11 play (rough guess; 100000 spins last 2 years)

big-win.jpg

Ol' Pianoman had top spot for a little while there.
Not expecting to maintain my present position either!

Maybe Nifty'll play that free entry he "rejected"?
Or will it be You that jumps ahead of me?
Sincere best wishes if you wanna try.

And of course, your contribution to the ever increasing prize pool will be much appreciated by the 290 sharing the loot.

That's all folks!
