(deleted by bernynhel): Dear GMC: Have written and re-written over last several days. 1 automated reply with the ridiculous claim that you endeavor to reply within 2-4 hours. I have only been denied when I try to enter as the "invitation only" error msg displays even though I opted in before hand and since have checked to make sure. I also made sure I am subscribed. I am. Each time I attempted to enter the tournament its status was "open" and had, at the time, 0 entries. This has been going on since the 12th when I first emailed you. -wjb

Hi Bernynhel,

Thank you for your post and I will get the guys to investigate and resolve the materfor you ASAP.

All of the best

Mario

Hi Bernynhel,

Please note that by now our guys would have gotten back to you.

Also do note that this tournament runs Wednesdays to Saturdays.

Best regards
Mario

Hello , You can join now, I had the same issue. but now I was able to join today. I think they set it up but you can not join until the day it starts, if you click once on the tournament go to the right then click on players (where the rules and prize are) if no players then it is not officially open, once you see players names then you can join. that is what I have found out on my own. I hope this helps you. Good Luck ;)

What "guys?" No one has EVER gotten back to me! If you rep GM your the first contact I've had! And I don't appreciate the insinuation of your statement or your tone, though it is consistent with the service I have received, to date, at GM. Especially since your claim that "...by now our guys would have gotten back to you." is a complete falsehood. It's not a hypothetical situation. It's reality.

"By now" happens to be the 19th of August, no one at GM has ever gotten back to me and I've been emailing support since the12th. I "subscribed" to get the email invite, I guess, because when I clicked on "subscribe" the only page I got was "un-subscribe" and I opted in at "Opt-in NOW to ensure your invitation to the Cash Dash Challenge that takes place every Wednesday to Saturday from 3 August to 30 November, 2009."

So I've been opted in and subscribed and no invite nor reply to any of my emails. Just a sour chat person - snotty, no help, now attitude from Mario.

Trust??? Sure. OK. Yeah, that's the ticket! Thanks! Actually, I get it. But wouldn't you think after all this time they could have "fixed" the tournament status to not show it being "open" until the appropriate time - 1 hour before the tournament start? Players who frequent these tourneys should be able to assume that if it shows as "open" then the casino should be on the same page as everyone else and know a little bit about what they are doing. Having players trying to enter and getting error messages is bad enough if it goes on for a day. After that, it's a slap in the face and clearly demonstrates a rather unwelcoming attitude toward players.

Ahem!

This email just in from GM (Thanks Mario!):

Dear William,

Thank you for contacting Grand Mondial Support.

Kindly note that in order to be able to participate in the Grand Cash Dash tournaments, you must have received an invitational email. On that email, there is a link that would allow you to opt-in for the tournaments.

Our database shows that you have not yet opted-in for the Grand Cash Dash tournaments...If you will recall my 2nd post to this thread is the screenshot of me "already opted in" dated yesterday. Oops! - bernynhel

Also, please note that the tournaments take place weekly between Wednesday and Saturday, and start at 5pm GMT. All registrations for the tournaments have to be done an hour prior to the start time, between 4pm and 5pm GMT, but one can only register after he/she has successfully opted-in for the Grand Cash Dash (through the link on the invitational mailer).

If you follow these steps, and ensure to register within the above mentioned periods, you should be able to participate in the tournaments without a problem.

We trust that we have been of assistance, but do not hesitate to contact us if you still have any concerns.

We would like to wish you a safe and fun filled week ahead!

Warmest regards
Dirky

My reply:

Dear support@grandmondialsupport.com:

Thank you for the speedy reply. Attached please find your web page which clearly shows me "already opted in" although I received no email. Perhaps your database is inadequate and should be revised to include all players who are already opted in. I accessed the promotional web page via My Promotions in the casino lobby. After clicking My Promotions and then seeing the Cash Dash promotion there, I assumed it wouldn't be there if it were not mine. From there I made sure I was "subscribed" as the promotional terms specify that I must be "subscribed" as well as "opted in" to receive the invitational email.

Please advise.

Just a general note that "tone" is a strictly subjective term that is difficult to apply to email/message board communication. (this is why we have smilely faces etc.,) Analyzing "tone" should be reserved for verbal communication. I wouldn't allow "tone" to influence your reactions unless it's absolutely clear. For example, "Dear stupid, yada yada yada yada..."

For example, "Dear stupid, yada yada yada yada..."

Of course detecting tone from one who is speaking is something we became familiar with in the cradle. "Oh, did poor Billy scrape his knee?" vs. "Take out the garbage!" Tone in writing is a little more difficult to determine, of course, because you can't hear the author's words as the author intended them to be read. Instead, you have to pick up clues from the text.

To determine tone in poetry (or in other writing), you have to consider diction and syntax, the grammatical structure of the sentence. You also have to consider which details are included and which are left out.

However, when every reply from GM personnel, no matter the individual, is delivered in the same, dry style to deliver and repeat statements concerning claims that I had just established were, in fact, untrue and the very reasons I contacted the casino in the first place, well, after a while, I get "tone".

The following is a compilation of Mario, Dirky (email support) and Uschi (live chat support): "In order to attend this tournament players have to receive an invitation email..", "Please note that by now our guys would have gotten back to you.", "Kindly note that in order to be able to participate in the Grand Cash Dash tournaments, you must have received an invitational email." , "Also do note that this tournament runs Wednesdays to Saturdays.", "Also, please note that the tournaments take place weekly between Wednesday and Saturday,..."

But maybe its just me.

This seems to be common with a number of organizations - it's a challenge to write well. Maybe they need to insert more smiley faces:

"In order to attend this tournament players have to receive an invitation email.."

"Also, please note that the tournaments take place weekly between Wednesday and Saturday,:yahoo:"

"Sorry, your account has been closed :xxx"

Just some examples :p

Hi there Bernynhel,

Thank you for all your comments and feedback and will try not be as dry as what we've came across and will take Meisters feedback to hart and comments with smiles all around. :)

To get back to the matter at hand we've really looked at your concerns and can see your point of view however, have you've considered the fact and the reasoning for why the tournament is open for all, is for players to view and to entice or tease players to opt-in and participate in this tournament when it does go live.

Which as stated previously and as Meister commented: Also, please note that the tournaments take place weekly between Wednesday and Saturday, " :notworthy

We do agree as you stated there is a delay in opting-in and getting invited and this is currently being addressed to avoid any future delays and further frustration.

Also there might be a technical problem with the opt-in process which is the reason why Dirky commented that you had to opt-in as it seemed like the system did not recognize that youve opted-in which currently is being investigated and addressed as well.

I do hope that this clears things out and thank you for your feedback as we cherish all that we do get.

All of the best
Mario

My only issue with the entire situation was that I emailed support to get some simple answers to some simple questions, received an auto response email with the words, "We endeavor to respond to all queries within 2 to 4 hours, ", and then I was ignored for a week.

My original email (from WEDNESDAY, August 12, as I had originally noted and fully understood from reading the terms that the tourney ran W-S, is posted, below.

Which as stated previously and as Meister commented: Also, please note that the tournaments take place weekly between Wednesday and Saturday, " :notworthy

Why does everyone keep telling me that? Did I EVER ask, "Hey, what days does the tournament actually run, anyway?" At the web page, Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) where it says, right under "The Grand Cash Dash Challenge details are as follows:" the 1st and 2nd lines in the little box read, "Takes Place Daily from Wed Sat each week/Starts at 7pm, ends at 11:59pm (GMT+2) daily"
If someone at GMC is worried that potential players might miss out because the tournament days and times are not stated succinctly enough to really sink in so that the average reader can fully comprehend what actual days they should attempt to register I wish they'd just fix it to where they are confident that the message gets across instead of wearing me out over it!

We do agree :)yahoo: -bernynhel) as you stated there is a delay in opting-in and getting invited and this is currently being addressed to avoid any future delays and further frustration.

This is just a suggestion: maybe the email to the players could go out before they ever have a chance to attempt to enter and that way players would hear about it instead of just stumbling across it in the casino lobby and, as an added bonus, it would save the casino support all the work of explaining that the reason players were denied entry was because they needed to receive an email invitation to enter because they would have already been invited in advance of logging in to the casino. In addition, players will be spared the embarrassment of being denied entry to something they weren't invited to. Embarrassing and puzzling as the Mad Cash Dash looked mighty inviting in the casino lobby and, after clicking, in my case, the "Welcome, William OPT IN HERE" tile and the subsequent "OPT IN HERE" tile on the following pop-up web page I was additionally confirmed with a hearty, "Thank you. You have successfully opted in to the promotion" confirmation message. It was at that point I was unable to register for the tourney, banged out a quick email from within the casino software's "Contact us" feature and now here we are.
(And by the way, whenever a Microgaming tournament's status is displayed as "Open", invariably that means that the tournament is open for registration, otherwise, the tournament status is displayed as "Scheduled" and the date and time of the tournament's opening and start times are displayed, respectively. So all that hooey about enticing and teasing is a bunch a baloney, as far as I'm concerned, and if you wanted to attract players all you had to do was send some nice, teasing and enticing email invitations in advance instead of putting players through the ringer by having them register for a tournament that requires an invitation that no one will have received until after going through this charade at least once. Never mind that at the tournament isn't even open yet for registration - it's just rude as opposed to clever marketing!) Again, just a suggestion.

Also there might be a technical problem with the opt-in process which is the reason why Dirky commented that you had to opt-in as it seemed like the system did not recognize that youve opted-in which currently is being investigated and addressed as well.

Ya THINK?

I do hope that this clears things out and thank you for your feedback as we cherish all that we do get.

You're welcome but I'd have preferred a simple reply to my original email as opposed to spending whats fast becoming a 40 hour work week devoted to the Mad Cash Dash.

This seems to be common with a number of organizations - it's a challenge to write well. Maybe they need to insert more smiley faces:

Could I at least have a courtesy reach-around smiley if I'm gonna be escorted out in that position?

Just some examples :p

Thanks Bryan, for your input, which is always welcome!

Hi Bernynhel,

Thank you for the feedback and with egg on face, you are 100% correct.

We've totally overlooked the actual question and jumped in head first to resolve your tournament concerns.

For that I do apologize as this was my over eagerness to ensure an effort less player gaming experience by overseeing the most important aspect of the service delivery and that is a timoeously, honest and friendly and professional response to our players.

None the less you've provided valuable feedback which we've seriously considered and taken note of.

To finally answer your question for the delay in a response is due to the fact that weve received a mail spike which support is currently working through and should be up to date within the next 24 hours.

We do apologize for the inconvenience caused and again thank you for your valuable input.

Best regards
Mario

Thanks, that, Mario!

And this just in from GMC Support:

Dear William,

Thank you for contacting Grand Mondial Support.

After having a look at your screen shot, it definitely seems as if there was some sort of time out or error when your opt-in was supposed to be streamed to our database. Our technical team is currently looking into why this problem occurred.

Please accept our apologies for that technical error.

That being said, we are glad to inform you that we have manually opted you in on our side. ( :yahoo: - bernynhel) So, from now on, you should "finally" be able to register and participate in the Grand Cash Dash tournaments.

We would like to wish you a safe and fun filled week ahead!

Warmest regards
Dirky

It was certainly the farthest thing from my mind when I originally emailed GMC Support that this issue, which only ever required a simple response and the solution which is described in the latest email from GMC, above, that over a week later I would be posting on CM about it. But today, I'm a happy camper. As far as I'm concerned it never happened - a lot more than I can say for other issues with some casinos that have never been resolved.

Whew! Glad I don't play there.

It was not my intention to paint GMC in a funky light or to cost the casino any business. I started this thread just to get resolution to a problem I was having. However, to say that the sitch would have been equally resolved without the public forum that Bryan has so tirelessly maintained and elevated to earn the respect of the industry that CasinoMeister.com demands, today, would be laying claim to something that I could not prove. If the unfolding of this thread has caused you to feel as you say in your post, I can only hope that the experiences of all concerned parties can be applied to bring about positive changes for a better future.

Technical issue - Cash Dash Tournament 22 Aug

Hi All,

Just an important announcement that we've experienced a technical problem with todays cash dash tournament and we do apologize profusely for the inconvenience caused.

Our technicians are currently working on the issue.

Best regards
Mario

Saw the schedule for the upcoming batch of Daily Dash Cash Challenge tournaments at GMC and they are all displaying "scheduled" under status instead of "open" and when I clicked on one the error message was the "Registration for this tournament is not opened yet(code24)" just as you would expect.

At this posting the opening time for the soonest scheduled tourney was running down from "Opens in: 1 day, 18 hours, 11 minutes, 22 seconds" and the start time was displayed as "Starts in: 2 days, 18 hours, 11 minutes, 22 seconds". Since I've never seen this series properly listed on the schedule before today, I'm actually going to attempt to register at the scheduled opening time displayed and not wait until 1 hour before starting time even though I have been advised that, for previous tournaments, despite what the schedule says, attempting to register prior to 1 hour before start times would prove futile.

I've set my alarm and will post here again once I see what's what. :D

When the Daily Cash Dash Challenge (DCDC) tourney opened I was able to register with no problems. There's a couple of the "old" DCDCs still listed but not grouped with the ones that are working properly so I just ignored those. Played in the tournament and I think I'm in last place. The only reason anyone has a lower score than me is cuz they haven't played yet and they're still at zero. lol. Still 21/2 hours for a rebuy so we'll see.
