Has anyone ever heard of this outfit? I keep getting spam from them at one of my gmail accounts that I _rarely_ give out, and trying to figure out if they're connected to any other reputable group.....looks like they use TopGame software.

I was told 3 days ago that they would remove my email address from their list, but yet I just got another one from them....

Hi Winbig,

I am not sure what is the case here as we can not control if some affiliates send mailers to their own lists.
What I suggest to do is to please send us email to support@goldvegascasino.com with the html mailer. I can then track the affiliate ID and will demand to remove you from their mailing list.
Have you ever registered with us? I can check that one also for you just incase.

Best Regards,
Gold Vegas Casino Team

Welcome to the forum, and not to be rude, but......of course you can control if your affiliates spam for your casino. You shut down their affiliate account. Pretty simple actually, zero tolerance.

If it's an affiliate database that the recipient has actually signed up for ie. newsletter, email notifications of new casinos, etc. then they would expect to receive such things. But if it's just "some affiliate" who's gotten hold of a database of players somewhere, then it's unacceptable for them to spam.

If more programs would take the hard line with these affiliate spammers, at least part of this problem could be eradicated.

I must have gotten thirty spam emails yesterday, all with the same subject line.....ONLINE GAMBLING NEWSLETTER. I did follow the link in one of them, and it led to a "Golden Crown Casino". I went no further than that, so I don't know what software it was. It could have been this place, or my first thought was that bloody Gold VIP Club, the worst spammers to EVER hit the internet. Maybe I'll investigate a bit more.

Edited to add: I went back to double check and every link on the so-called casino homepage, leads to a d/l for SmartDownload.exe which is, of course, RTG. I just saw that you guys are Top Game, so the ones I received yesterday are indeed Gold VIP Club I'm sure.

It still doesn't excuse your casino/affy program tolerating any spam whatsoever, and I think you'll find that many players get very "turned off" by casinos that allow this to go on, and will refuse to ever play there. Best to nip it in the bud now, if you can.

This was sent to me directly from support@goldvegascasino.com, so it's definitely not spam from an affiliate...

Hi Winbig,

These days webmasters can send mailers from any address.
They can even send it from billgates@microsoft.com if they want to.
Please send us the site link so we can track the affiliate ID.
I haven't seen it below.

Best Regards,

The links in the email lead to xxxhttp://sdm3.rm04.net/ctt?kn=6&m=2...DgS1&mt=1&rt=0 , which redirects to xxxhttp://www.goldvegascasino.com/?sourceID=4280.

I know full well that anyone can send emails making it look like it was sent from anywhere, as I've been online for over a decade and have worked for 2 different ISP's in the past in which it was part of my job to track down spammers using our services.

In my experience, 99.99% of spamming affiliates DO NOT send out their spammy emails with a support@spammed-casino reply-to address. I'm sure others can attest to this, as well.

I can also assure you that this is not some opt-in list that I'm on. This is not my main email address that we're talking about.

For information, "rm04.net" uses nameservers at Silverpop, a B2B agency specialising in email marketing (xhttp://www.silverpop.com/)

Interesting.

What affiliates do you know that actually hire a marketing firm to send out their spam? I don't know of any...this is sounding fishier by the second.

I forgot to mention the fact that the email even addresses me by my first name. This is my proof that my email address was sold & bought, but by whom?

You did register and test the "Top Game" software at Rome Casino didn't you...;)

Rob, that is exactly what I was going to mention as well. Didn't one of the casino reps from one of these Top Game places tell us that they are all 100% independent of each other? Win, which email addy did you register with Rome Casino when you signed up? Was it this gmail one?

Yes, I do believe that is correct, think it was in the Rome Casino thread.

Nope, it was a seperate one. This is definitely a mystery......the only casino-related use I have for the gmail account in question is with the VPL group.

Hi Guys,

I can talk for ourselves and say that Gold Vegas Casino running the Top Game platform on its own and looking after our players only.
We got nothing to do with the others or any other Top Game Operator and it is the same as any other software providers and the different brands.
I can join this party and also complain that I do get to my private email that I only registred with our brand promos from different brands that I have never register with.
We truly keep an Anti Spam policy and resepect any request to be removed from our mailing lists.

Best Regards,
Gold Vegas Casino Team

I believe you......:)

So, has this affiliate's account been terminated yet? :)

Section 4 of your Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) 's:
4. Unsolicited Communication

4.1. By agreeing to this agreement, you are agreeing to create a unique link from your site to a client site. You may link to a client with banners/icons or with a text link. This is the only method by which you may advertise on our behalf.

4.2. We will terminate this agreement immediately if there is any form of unsolicited communication (spamming) or if you advertise our casino in any other way. You shall not make any claims, representations, or warranties in connection with us or our clients and you shall have no authority to, and shall not, bind us or our clients to any obligations

Not only did they send me spam, but they also represented themselves as the casino itself, and not as an affiliate (casino reply-to address, not the affiliate.) Also, their "unsubscribe" mechanism obviously doesn't work, as I received 2 other messages (exact same) after trying to unsubscribe via their link..

You know that just shows and proves to the spammer that you are alive and well when you click on their links to unsubscribe...then they will really start bombing you with unsolicited emails.

I know....I'm a sucker for punishment. That's what I get for originally thinking they were originally from GV.

I got the same spam mail from Gold Vegas. Using the same source ID 4280, and also addressing me by my first name.

I have no idea who Gold Vegas is or how they got my email/name. If this is coming from an affiliate, wouldn't it be easy for them to find that out for sure with the source id 4280, and tell us for sure? And then confirm that affiliate's account has been closed like previously mentioned?

When you click on the affiliate link from the casino web page, and go to their affiliate program, the email address I see at the bottom of the page is support@goldvegaspartners.com. I forwarded my spam mail with a letter of my own to that email address, and it just kept bouncing back. I never received any reply from them, but maybe they never got the mail I sent. This was the error in the bounced mail:

Technical details of temporary failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 451 451 Could not load DRD for domain (goldvegaspartners.com) rcpt (support@goldvegaspartners.com) (state 14).

So there's no way I considered passing this off as an affiliate or becoming an affiliate for Gold Vegas Casino when I couldn't contact the affiliate program via their email address.

If this is an affiliate, and if Gold Vegas affiliate program had email issues because they were so new and still working out technical things such as email, then how did this ONE SPAMMING AFFILIATE manage to get right through to them, with email problems, to start his/her massive spam campaign?

Clarification

Hi Guys,

Just to clarify once more:

RomeCasino is completely independent from any other TopGame Casino in existence. We are not affiliated with GoldVegas or any other TopGame Casino in terms of ownership or even affiliation but they are a good bunch of guys and you should definitely give them a fair shake. Sometimes Affiliates sign up on our default plans and just spam by default. We've had this happen to us once and we subsequently closed the account. I can't speak for GoldVegas but I'm sure they have the same policy.

BR,

JC.

Hi,

Affiliate account was closed followed by an email and he/she won't be able to access it anymore.
We are trying our best, because of amount of affiliates we can not track each affilate and what he/she are doing.
Please help us fight this and contact us either on:

Hi Yoni,

Thanks for the reply here, and for investigating the matter and confrming it was an affiliate account that's now been disabled. :)

FYI, the email I sent to your affiliate address that bounced, was sent to them almost a month ago, Feb. 9th. So perhaps any email issues that caused that bounce have also been resolved since. I didn't try resending before reading this thread. I did resend it about 10 hours ago though, to the affiliate email and to the casino support email. I didn't receive any bounces this time. I also didn't receive a reply yet, not that it's been THAT long, but I really don't need a reply to it now since you've already handled things here.

Thanks again. :)

Perhaps there should be a "wall of shame" within the program so that other affiliates can see that there really IS the prospect of them being closed down for spamming. It seems so hard to track down the spammers, and then just as hard to get the program to shut them down. Spam is about volume with a tiny percentage of success. The risk of affiliate account closure is similarly tiny, and may seem well worth it for any spammer. Big spammers have probably tried this many times before, and have managed to get away with it, and have made commission without the need to build a proper website, nor even produce any decent promotional content, from what can be seen in the average spam invite.
If the affiliate programs do not regulate the spam, no-one else will.

The result of casino spam is the "throw the baby out with the bathwater" approach from email filtering software. The majority of genuine promotional mails I get from casinos I play at is misidentified as spam by my ISP, and they are easy to miss when skipping long lists of emails, all with the "<spam>" tag on them.
