Genuinely bothered or not?

Had a shed load of ‘ we care ‘ ‘ please don’t gamble beyond your means ‘
‘ we have RS tools ‘
Yeah very few of you have lock withdraw.
even fewer check sow/kyc on deposit..
and the lot of you never email me all this before the ‘virus from a country that cannot be mentioned happened’

Comical.
Sky Vegas mate eats and shits the lot and soon as u hit withdrawal it’s gone no reverse option no emails or marketing.

No marketing isn’t necessarily a good thing. Plenty of casinos Iv simply not played at due to forgetting about etc

But agree; their platform and no nonsense approach re withdrawals is miles above most, of not all. Only downside is their limited providers (and no matter how much I spend there, 10p scratchcards)

Well I've been an affiliate since around 2005, and Sky's customer retention was miles ahead of anyone else I promoted over the years, so obviously they do something right. The figures were off the chart compared to anyone else, from all my FTD's I sent, I had around 22% deposit every month from joining, some for years. Usually, a year after someone joins, you are lucky if you have close to a 5% retention rate! I've seen some affiliates say they did better with Bet365, but presumably they got in early as its hard to get people to sign up to them now as everyone has accounts already.
I barely do any promotion now, but when I do I stay away from the smaller casinos as the retention is always shit.

Out of curiosity Colin, do you think casinos are focused more on new sign ups rather than retaining existing? There are ball park figures of it costing x5 more to acquire new customers than keep existing and always wondered why (and not just casinos; could say the same about Sky etc) some appear geared to get you in the door and then nothing

I honestly think it depends on the casino. I've always signed up for a casino myself before I've promoted them, just to see what they are like when you sign up, don't deposit, sign up deposit, sign up and deposit a few times.
Some casinos I've been members of for years and not had a single promotional email from. I don't get that, it costs nothing to send an email once a week, so why not do it, if nothing else, to remind customers they have an account. From my pov, I always do rev share, theres no point promoting a casino if once you send customers, they don't promote themselves. Also I won't touch any casino who cross promote once you join, and theres a few do that.

The big bookies all have decent retention, and from an affiliate pov are great, cos they limit/close winning accounts, so you are never that far in the red if you have neg carry over. However, to make much from them you need to have been in from the start & be high on google for certain search terms to keep the FTD coming. Sky i used to get emails pretty much daily from, Paddy Power/Betfair I get a least a couple a week from, BetVictor, maybe weekly. But then I have accounts with Boylesports, Racebets (owned by betsson now I believe) and some other big names, and couldn't tell you the last time I got an email from them. Guess who i never think of when I'm having a bet!

Casinos the same. Videoslots apparently have decent retention, but they pay so bad I would never promote them, plus I don't like their practices, I won't promote anyone I wouldn't play at myself. L&L send regular retention emails out, although they seem to have lessened recently. Trada I rarely heard from and closed my account when they went shit and moved to Aspire. They were extremely hard to convert though for some reason.

There is only one that bothered me ... for a closed (not self-excluded) account from a few years back. This casino was bought out by another group IIRC, or changed corporate structure. The ownership/management change was some time ago, I have not received marketing materials.

Seems lapsed player/account closed player has some overlap. So reminders of RG tools are maybe not classified as marketing material?
