I havent watched the recent season yet. I like saving up a pile of episodes then binge watch it.
I found last season pretty boring for the most part. Hope it picks back up because the first couple seasons were very good

As far as I know the author of the "A song of Ice and Fire" George R.R. Martin didn't finish his story as yet. So they can't run out of content. I might be wrong, but a friend of mine told my this info. They might want to finish with this TV series because it gets to expensive.

The show has passed where the books have left off and have veered off off as well, though George has let them in on some details; but at this point theyre also 'winging it' and adding fodder.
Season 5 was godawful. You could tell it was written by a bunch of nob ends with lines such as (chortle!):
"You need the good girl, but you want the bad pussy" WHAT
&
"My Valeryan is a bit nostril"
Amongst others. But on the whole this season is ok but it is dragging a bit now. Seven season will be just a tad too short, but perhaps a shortened eight season will just about be right.
