I'm crap at selecting shares, but anything like this hits the headlines and it has an immediate impact. If I were a gambling man, which obviously I'm not, I'd spend the money on chocolate. And spend the change on some Sportingbet shares :D

word to the wise..."gamble" in casinos. dont pick a casino stock just because you like to gamble. play with your head, not your heart.

It was concerning the arrest of a Mr Carruthers, chief executive of Beton Sports, at Dallas airport.

I don't really understand much about it.

meh, id probably wait at least a few more days, i imagine there still might be more fallout. Also i dont know the deal with uk stocks, but if those were american, my guess is they might keep crashing in after hours trading.

You might want to watch out in the short run, theres gonna be some crazy jumps depending on how us legislation/this trial/other arrests? go.

AIM Listed 32RED stood firm throughout thank god.

Tomorrow will be interesting...Aston Villa (a "real football" team for the US contingent ;)) who 32Red now sponsor just sacked their manager - well it was "by mutual consent" but same sheep, sharper teeth. Will it affect the 32Red share-price?

Point being, the smallest thing can alter a shareprice but they still yo-yo over time.

I'm not too sure about that!

Standing firm, in fact it's ever so slightly (0.37%) up over the month. I'm convinced that the UK bias and customer base is doing them the world of good. Will be funny to see the 32RED brand running all over the Theatre of Dreams one Saturday afternoon next season!

Share Prices - buy

I think the prices will soon hit as low as they will go.

I'd be tempted to let the dust settle until Monday. BetonSports have been forced to close their poker and casino sites as well as their sportsbook. This has caused a bit of a shock within the industry as analysts had predecited that firms with US poker customers were safe for the moment.

I'd let the dust settle and buy early next week.

As for 32Red - do they take bets from American customers? If not then there is nothing to worry about. As for their manager going - no big deal - he hasn't done much with them anyway.

They do - but its casino/poker/games rather than Sports. Though quite how BetDirect fits into this equation I'm not sure.

Rumor is that Ed Ware will be new mgr of Aston Villa in addition to his existing duties.

I hope the forum members understand that I cannot possibly comment on such speculation! ;)

For the record, Bet Direct does not accept any US business.

Cheers

Ed.

What the market thinks

I may be missing something fundamental here, but surely its only a matter of time before the US authorities also chase those sites that target US customers with their Poker and Casino products?

For those investors out there, I read an interesting article in the Sunday Telegraph which goes into some detail in respect to Party Gaming and it's US customer base: (Article commences half way down)
