This one is working.I'm getting "this content is currently unavailable" voice message...
Have any of you ever seen the louis theroux documentary in vegas? He interviews this woman who said she had lost over $2million over the past couple of years, but she seemed pretty happy about it
Cindy,
I saw that too. Somebody knew something to be able to pull up that particular online casino.
I just can't fathom playing 14 million dollars in the slot machines and I love playing slots. At some point I would say "Crap, this is enough".
That was a great documentary.
I particularly liked the fella that was played several high roller slot machines ($100 a go) whilst casually talking to Louis! Must of lost a few thousand in a couple minutes no problem.

A big hit is the best thing that can happen to anybody.
What happens next is up to you. But the big hit will save you money and probably save your job / house / marriage if you are close to addiction. Addiction comes when you chase your loses, if you don't lose that much that often chances are you will be ok and just have fun.
The myth of big payouts being addictive is just that. A myth originated by greedy businessmen and politicians that want to part gamblers from their money by lowering the TRTP. And they try to “justify” lowering the TRTP by saying “we do it to protect people from addiction because winning is addictive”.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with this statement...
I've worked in the industry for ~15-years, with and for some of the biggest gaming companies in both the online and offline environments, as well as the most respected Regulators and Gambling Addiction organisations and charities. Whilst there is no 'smoking gun' that points to exact causes (as these vary from person to person), there are countless studies that have found and cited evidence of the addictive nature of big wins & trying to recreate that feeling.
"Winning can be experienced by older pathological gamblers as a powerful ego-booster and keeps them addicted to gambling" (Source: Journal of Gambling Issues, p8 -You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.)
"We're exhilarated after we have our first big win... We want to recreate that feeling again and again. So we go back to the source, but find that the high is never quite the same... We chase the feeling... Desperately chasing a feeling associated with gambling ... is a sign of addiction" (Source: The Chase - August 2You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.)
"The big win can be a moment in time that any gambler constantly tries to recreate. At the time of winning her $10,000, Mary felt she had the answer." (Source: p8 -You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.)
"...some people become fixated on recreating that big win scenario." (Source:You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.)
With the greatest of respects, before you state your opinion as fact, please please please research it first (& even better provide evidence). Gambling addiction is a serious problem, so treating it so flippantly doesn't reflect well on anyone who does so.

Louis worked out that he lost over a quarter million over that weekend, funny thing is he now drives an uber, I guess it didn't go so well in the end.

Does he really drive an uber? he was a rich businessman jetting in on the doc.
What I thought was interesting is that later in the vid they're talking about how all these online casinos are targeting women, and the one they showed was Manhattan Slots by Club World! Yay Club World, you're famous!
7 years or so ago I watched an ABC news report about problem gambling and they used the same clip with Manhattan Slots.
I guess Manhattan Slots was popular back then. This thread is a bit old too if you check so maybe not so strange they used the same
I find the name has a pretty good ring to it too so maybe thats why they used it too lol
