Any gamers here? Would love to know people's favourite games, here are some of mine:

PC
- The game I've played the most: Civilization (all of them), even like the last one Civilization 5, most people don't like the new change that you can only have 1 unit per square. I love it.. even more strategy involved
- Dungeon Keeper 2 (old game)
- Starcraft 1/2
- Halflife (1-2 + episodes)
- Diablo 1&2

Xbox360 (I hate microsoft but I have one)
- Condemned 2: Bloodshot, awesome survival horror game with one of the best fighting mechanics (too bad they never released the 2nd one on PC)
- The Darkness (first one)
- All the GTA games of course

The past few days I've been playing Orcs must die!, pretty neat game, finished it in 2 nights though, so now I'm bored again. But!! Tomorrow Diablo 3!!

I enjoy the challenge of flight simulators, but I was watching an experienced gamer doing his thing on Battlefield 3 and I have to say the sheer quality of the graphics blew me away. Interesting missions, too.

I mostly play CoD,but miss the old games-alex the kidd built into the sega master system (or sonic depending which you wanted),gta for the ps1 (playing from a birds eye view),and paperboy on erm, snes was it?

.

I am a big fan of role-playing (open world) games, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (released last year) is the best game ever created in my opinion.

I really can not get enough of dragons, swords, elves etc :D

yeah Skryim is awesome.. I was pretty far, then I had to format my computer, and me the idiot, forgot to backup the save games..

anyhow 1 hour 15 minutes till I can play Diablo 3 over here.
they made it so you can only play online while connected to their server. bye bye piracy. wonder how much they'll sell, it's already the most pre-ordered game, ever!

That's not gameplay footage though :D
They've been working on it since 2001.. Crazy...

"Having trouble sleeping, Silencio?"
No I'm waiting for the ******* game to finish downloading :D I can't sleep!!

Never tried MMO's, too afraid to become addicted.. I did play some eh.. what do you call em.. well sort of mmo's but browser based, like Ikariam for instance (back when it was still a somewhat decent game). And of course put way too much time in it. When I quit I felt empty inside :D Like the feeling you get when you win big at a casino but then lose it all back. A big waste of time. But then a couple of years later, I was in desperate need to find some good help with my site, after crossing paths with one idiot after another, and I contacted one of my former Ikariam team mates. He was interested, so I had someone to help me with the footwork. But I still was lacking a good (and most of all productive) writer. I told him, and turns out his sister studied linguistics. They are now (the best) part of my team.. So not a waste of time after all :)

I've only bought a handful of games specifically for the computer... and they were buggy or didn't work well, even after updates. LOL Hoyle Casino however, did work pretty well, though my old copy is very outdated and probably wouldn't work with Vista.

I'm a Tomb Raider fan and my 2 PC games I purchased were very glitchy.

All of which means I need a gaming computer. LOL

Oh... and what's with buying a download PC game (like those at Amazon), but you have to be connected to... what is that game tracking place? I can't think of the name ... Steam? maybe that's it.... to play it? I haven't even played a Lara Croft game I bought on sale, because it insists on installing that Steam crap.

if any of you guys want any cut price pc games check out cjs keys you can get battlefeild 3 for £12.50
they send you the key then you dl from steam orirgin or whatever
i got my bf3 from them the other day if anyone wants to play any co-op mode give me a shout

Doom, the first Tomb Raider, Quake - these are the big ones I remember fondly from the initial years of computer gaming. Myst was fun, too.

Zork was fun and FUNNY. ALL of them. :D Except "Return to Zork" which was not funny at all, but kind of dark. But I enjoyed that one, too.

Twinsen was another I enjoyed immensely. I even contacted the guy who wrote the stories to the game - that French guy. He responded to me that he had eventually written a third game. But it never got produced/published (to my knowledge).

My favorite PC games, are ones that have the best replay value. If I play a game, that's fantastic from start to end, but I don't feel the need to go through it a 2nd time, then it doesn't really resonate with me long-term.

I had a 486 (Intel 80486 Microprocessor) when you pretty much needed a Pentium (mid-90s) to play any half-decent computer game. In '95, when it was scarce buying any newer PC games that could run on a 486, I was still able to play the (then) newly released WarCraft II, and the game never lagged. It's not my favorite game (although it's up there historically), but I've always appreciated Blizzard for making such a great game, and making it in a way that it could run on an older system at a time where other gaming companies were too lazy to do the same. Even though that's 17-18 years ago now when it was originally designed, people in South Korea are still big on StarCraft I, and it's the same game as WarCraft II!

I also played Doom I & II to death on that 486, and would get quite nauseous after 2 hours of playing them. And with 'Rise of the Triad' I'd be ready to vomit after about 15 minutes.

The game I've played the most in my life would be 'Axis & Allies'/'Axis & Allies: Iron Blitz', and the only game I've enjoyed playing online. 'Triple A' is free online, which is basically the same game.

While I own and admire all of the 'Medal of Honor', 'Call of Duty', & 'Battlefield' series, they're all linear, and it's annoying after a while just following a forced path (single player mode). I much prefer open world games, like a 'Far Cry II' where you go where you want, and stealth games, like the 'Splinter Cell' series where you actually feel like you're taking down people with precision. I love 'Battlefield 3', and 'COD Black Ops', but there's no real body count, I'm not sure if I really killed the guy or not, rather it feels like I'm just spraying bullets in a direction, and that I'm playing a minor role in a movie that's been already played through thousands of times.

Although most people I know can't stand anything from the 'Rainbow Six' series, of all of the gun games, 'Rainbow Six: Las Vegas II' is easily my favorite, and I find it has tons of replay value, which I can't say as much of the other great war/1st person shooters. Both 'Operation Flashpoint' games lean towards being tactical shooters, so I prefer them over those mentioned in the previous paragrah, though the graphics and parts of the gameplay, at times, leave a lot to be desired.

I easily prefer 1st person shooters that are WWII related. With so much focus being put into modern warfare, I'm tired of looking at so much sun, sand and dusty shops as diorama. Why not make a great WW1 game already?

I finally bought a PS3, but for 1st person shooters, I'm having a hard time adjusting, when I'll always prefer using a keyboard and mouse (which is far more precise anyway).

'Herzog Zwei' and 'Star Control' were awesome games for the Sega Genesis that were vastly underrated/underappreciated, and ahead of their time. 'Dune II' (1992) is often called the first modern real-time strategy game, but Herzog Zwei's release in 1992 predates it, so tip your hat to this game, that helped pave the way for great games like WarCraft, Star Craft, etc. I also played 'Baseball', 'Tron: Deadly Disks', 'Utopia', and 'Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Cloudy Mountain' the most from my library of Intellivision games, with the first costing my folks a good $60 CAD, and the other 3 costing me about $1.50 CAD each in a Woolco bargain bin a couple of years later.

Must watch...

My favorite game, as of late, is 'NBA 2K12'. My most recent purchase, was 'Metal Gear Solid 4', which gets tons of accolades (roughly 94% approval rating from all of the major gaming reviewers), and I've enjoyed it to an extent, but I find that I'm drowned with far too much story/montages, that I just want to play the damn game already, and I'm tired of films/games/comics inserting as much anime/warrior nonsense into the storylines as they do.

Hmmmm.....

Well I've never played Diablo. Should I give it a go?

My favs are Zelda and metroid prime on GameCube/Wii.

Pc favs are command and conquer (except 4 which is crap), stronghold, settlers, age of empires.

I did also like the Lego games on PlayStation.

I should really get back into it I've got 6 games unopened still lol.

Games! GAMES!

I love games- from Board to Video! :D They're something of a passion of mine.

Current VideoGames:

Fallout (All of them. From The first, to Tactics to New Vegas- I've played and loved them all!)

The Elder Scrolls: (again. All of them.)

Resonance of Fate: A JRPG (Japanese RPG) with an unusual combat system that makes me feel like John Woo.

Borderlands: Its like 1st Person Diablo!!!

Wolfenstein: Anytime I can kill Nazis, I consider it a good FPS (First person shooter) Bonus points for killing NAzi's involved in the supernatural! (The last few Wolfenstein games have all involved Nazi Occultism, and the destruction of Nazi Zombies/Demons and the like. All in all a great way to spend Shabbat in Tel Aviv! :p )

Civilizations: Love'em all (Again!)

Online Games: I tend to play mostly text-based gaming here, Story-driven RP or Dungeons and Dragons style Table-top, just in a persistant world. The Text-based games I play are the forerunners to the modern MMO (so much so that Everquest natively accepts commands from a particular version of a text-based game.)

Casino Games: Lots of those on the ole compy too. :p

Love this new part of the forum!
My all time favourites is a list so big johnsteed's post would pale in comparison ^^
So ill stick to the games i still play, and that would be on PC:
Call of Duty 4 multiplayer, although the hacks are really to easily downloaded which often makes it much less fun.
Command and Conquer , Generals, still a classic, but a genius game. they could have improved the matching system for MP but hey, it can be bought for 5 usd so who really cares?
I'd love to play against you once Nifty!:) pm me if you share that feeling.
On Ps3 i like the GTA Series meaning the OG and add ons/ expansions and i have Skyrim too, which is ofc the sequel to one of the most unlinear games ever, morrowind (yes i know oblivion came inbetween but i didnt play it) and also one of my favourites.
And lets not forget the good old windows solitaire!
Im looking forward to the next gen consoles though and especially feel they should hurry up with my virtual helmet and sensors!!

Hmmmm.....

Well I've never played Diablo. Should I give it a go?

Well.. when I finished it on normal difficulty I was a bit disappointed. But then I went on to nightmare difficulty, and it got better and better.. Am at level 48 now :D
And you either love it or hate it, so I wouldn't spend that much money on it, if you're not sure.. you also have to play it online, even single player.. and the servers were down a lot this past week. Apart from yesterday all is well now. But if you want to try it out I would start with the older ones (if you don't mind a bit of outdated graphics).

Well, what's a girl to do without internet for a month, besides cleaning??? :D Just got my internet back yesterday (thank you hughes for FINALLY fixing my satellite dish:mad:)

Dugout Diablo II, got a barbarian and a Druid to the start of nightmare mode, a sorceress and an assassin to the Frozen Tundra in normal mode.

I like to play those silly hidden object games Titanic, Huntsville, etc.

I also buy games from Bigfish games.

A few years ago I bought a Nintendo64 for my grandsons, we play Mariocart, super Mario bros, and Zelda Ocarina
