Click on settings in the performance option and post screenshot.

Nearly there hun, but you clicked the wrong button, click the middle one and send screenie, I need this to see if you have a partitioned hard drive, you do have some virtual memory but not enough .

Okay, brilliant, it is always better to set your page file up on an alternative drive to C, but we will keep it this way, okay click on maximum amount (the lower box) and reset it to 8000 mb and click ok

When you have done this, run dxdiag again your memory should now read 9918

Woohoo, okay, one more important thing to do, right click on my computer again, then properties and device manager, then open up display adapter and click on driver and see what version you have.

When I had posted my last reply my screen frooze again. Restarted computer, typed that dxdiag and it was exactly the same numbers as before.

Do you want me to check dates for drivers? Wich drivers? Or don't I get it again?
It's Vista so some things are a little different.

Okay we`ll leave it for now hun, I do have a strong feeling that the new memory you bought may have the wrong bus speed or something, it may pay to take the original one/ones you had and the new ones to the PC shop and make sure they match correctly .

Display adaptor is your gfx card .

Yep, that`s your graphics card (display adaptor).

Something is wrong hun and it points to ram or gfx card, even though you bought new ram today it must be ram compatible with your motherboard .

I know, and I don't know if it's exactly the right Ram, since it wasn't mine from the beginning.

Yw hun , wait till you get my bill lol, but seriously, take the ram to your local shop along with the make and model of your motherboard and get them to check it is the correct ram, even though they look identical there are several factors that matter when installing them, also your gfx card, these need to be configured correctly as well, if you have downgraded your card, which you have, something as minor as incorrect resolution settings will cause huge problems, as far as ram goes it pays to have 4gig as windows doesn`t recognize any more than this, and this can be restricted by bios, but that`s a whole new can of worms lol.

It may pay to check your local paper and see if there are any freelance PC experts offering their services, as these can offer a damn good service for a reasonable price .
