i decided to play the avalon daily tournament at 32red tonight. i started of well the first spin with two wilds giving me 1850 coins. but then the second spin the lag started. it took HALF A MINUTE for the reels to stop:eek2: then the third spin was even worse. A FULL MINUTE :eek2::eek2::eek2: i had a good chance of getting in the top 10 but the lag ruined everything. can't they do something about this terrible lag:eek2:

I was playing in a tournament at Wild Jack tonite when the same thing happened but they made up the time when the clock went to :00. They added on the time the game was spinning.

Microgaming don't give a F***

There have been LOADS of complaints, and things just get worse and worse as time goes on.

I have more or less given up with these. I don't even play all my FREE entries now.

I had the same problems and sloved it. The reason is lagging is becasue the graphic is so large it take time to load. The tourney is not good for dial up user that for sure. Try disable the sound in the lobby then try open up the other windows before you play it. I have aol and if I leave my email open it run faster if I closed it is lagging. Sound weird but it works. Sometime firewall may cause the problem. Try disable that. Here the link for tips. Hope that helps.

I got a 10mbit fiber connection that is steady as hell. I also have a high end computer. And its lagging as hell at times. Has little to do with graphics or connection. Its probably a server overload because of to many players playing the same tourney at the same time. Same thing happened at 3dice when they launched a couple of new slots along with a free tourney to try them out.

I have these lags too, sometimes, and I really have no idea what the cause can be or a solution.
My connection is is superfast, and first I too thought it had to be a server overload.
But last week I played at Linx casino free tourney, and only 45 people joined that one by then, and as far as I could see I was the only one playing that tourney at that moment.
Still the lags made it completely unplayable
I think I quit playing these tourneys, it just gets too frustrating.

Btw, I found that restarting the casinosoftware sometimes helps, but thats only useful at the 32RED tourneys where you get plenty of playtime.

It is not the tournament itselt of the number of players playing this tournament at the same time, but the server.

Some reverr host many tournaments. You can play some tournament and be the only one playing it at that time but is some other tournament hosted on the same server gone crowded by players playing at that time you'll get lag.

I do have high speed internet. I put up link at the post above to make a few suggestion how to improved your speed at slot tourney. You might what to try it out and work around it. Try leave you email open or open another window.

When the tourney start let them play for a min or two then you start playing. It help a lots.

Im just repeating much of what has already been said, but i ALWAYS start spining a minute or two in to the tournament, and also if there is another tournament starting during the time i want to play my chosen tournament then i wait for that tournament to start before i start my one as i will interfere with your game play.

Also the sound makes an incredible difference, i implore everyone to mute the sound in the casino lobby, if you watch the coins you get through with the sound on and then with the sound on mute you'll never have the sound on again, on a typical tomb raider tourney i can use all the coins i start with and get 1 lot of freespins and still finish my coins before the tourney ends.

Also if you get problems getting disconnected then shut down everything you dont need, like the Vista sidebar, outlook etc.

Also another top tip for getting more spins, i use an auto clicker, it clicks at 1 click per 1 millisecond, but you have to be real careful you don't forget you have it running because on a few occasion i have opened everything on my desktop all at once lmao

The auto-clicker is called SimsAC and you can get it from downloads.com

I hope this helps

microgaming tourneys and the lag issue has been around for as long as i can remember. i never play the buy in tourneys because of the lag issue, but when i do play the free ones, it makes a huge difference if you start spinning a few minutes into the tourney. and i have also noticed that it doesn't matter what kind of computer you have or how fast your connection is... the lag seems to occur regardless. i think people over time figure out ways to better avoid or eliminate the lag (like muting the sound) and those players that figure out the most tend to play more / win more.

Auto Clicker? Is it that cheating? I think you should find out if you can do that.

Are you serious? lol

I only use it to spin the reels quicker, and it saves me banging away on my mouse button.

I used it, plus all the other tips i mentioned on a Royal Vegas Slots tourney and got 4th place and $2500 and they paid so i guess the answer to that is yes i can use it.

I do have a screenshot it proof is needed. And in fact its here

, it was a while ago, but i used all the techniques i mentioned

ok. Just wasn't sure. Reason why I ask because they took out auto spin in the tourney.

It is FASTER to manually spin, since "auto spin" has a small built in delay.

The autoclicker should ensure a fresh spin is triggered as early as possible, but this is where you might spot the real "black hat" MGS cheating. The code was modified at their end to ENFORCE an average spin rate of 1 per 3 seconds. Experiments at the "cutting edge" of speed on my new PC exposed this "cheating", which can often be confused with the general "lag" experienced near the beginning of the tournaments.

I was initially able to get one spin per second or less before this "black hat" update - the difference between 1 and 3 seconds under unchanged conditions other than an MGS update makes me 100% certain MGS INTENTIONALLY introduced what we are calling "tournament lag".

This "3 second rule" did not exist for the first few months of the tournaments, and I was already doing experiments on maximising speed, and discovered that the spin rate could be brought up to the same as experienced in the normal version. When MGS did that "update" and all the tournament games went grey, and then re-downloaded, the "3 second rule" suddenly appeared. With my experimental set-up, this MGS "cheat" stuck out like a sore thumb, although under "normal" conditions it is rarely seen other than in free spins where there is a series of naked spins, when a 5 second lag suddenly kicks in UNTIL a paying spin is executed, where the extra delay created by the win count switches off the "3 second rule" enforcer.

Interestingly, MGS have made the "Grand Slam" 60 minutes and 8000 coins. Suddenly, they seem sh1t scared of ANY possibility of players moaning about "lag", and not having enough time to finish coins, or that last bonus round. This to me indicates that MGS have been fully aware of this issue, but are intentionally allowing it to remain in place for most tournaments rather than give players what they want (and HAVE given players in the "Grand Slam").

Considering the amount of "spins" that go through a casino, the capacity of these tournament servers seems VERY tiny indeed if undercapacity has anything to do with lag experienced by players.

What is certain is that the $50 free tourneys for Avalon, Thunderstruck and Tomb Raider are just enough time to spin the coins. If you get freespins you will have money left which you cannot wager.

While this is terrible anoying, the most anoying part is getting the freespins on the last spin before time runs out... I made the mistake - one time - of buying continue in hope of testing the freespins... Well, dont do that - since you will not be able to continue the freespins!

Last two Thunderstruck tournaments I had well over 1000 coins left, starting with 3000 that is kinda idiotic! I noticed the guy in the lead had over 2300 coins left - I suspect he got 2 respins or so - which would account for not being able to spin the last coins.

Why cant we have fast play enabled? That would solve lots!

I find that I have no problems at all with the MG tourneys EXCEPT for any Thunderstruck ones.

In TS tourneys the spins make you feel like you just squaffed a bottle of valium and its incredibly frustrating.....so its obviously a server issue or something as the other tourneys are just fine.

The thing I REALLY hate is these 'FREE' tourneys with 10 continues @$10 each. It gives the 'free' players absolutely NO chance (especially on Tomb Raider) and its insulting to actually be 'awarded' one of these as a casino promotion.

Im actually surprised with 32REd with their latest tourney with 20 continues....really annoying.

I dont see why all the tourneys arent re-buy only? I know that I would enter a few times if they were, but Im not going to try and beat the top places by doing 10 continues. It seems a false economy for the casino to have these 'continues', as it is far more attractive for the player to spend money on more 're-buys' when its actually giving them a realistic chance of winning. All the continues do is give the better bankrolled players a bigger chance....and lets face it, they were going to spend the money anyway....and Im sure they would do the rebuys as well so there would be no loss there. Its almost a case of false advertising when it comes to TR tournaments, as you just cant win with one free entry. The true cost of winning the WE tourneys for example is $100 or $120 - not $20 as stated. Anyway I just stick to fortune lounge tourneys now as they most often have rebuy only tournaments where I get much better value for my money.

nift29 is right. some microgaming casinos offer too many continues for their slot tournaments. I have seen tournaments offering 500 or even 999 continues.
one time I played one of these and I was very lucky and I was on the third place but then I saw that one can buy 500 continues. and in this case it just doesnt make any sense to buy even one continue because even if you make the first place with it the other players can buy so many continues that they will defo beat you sooner or later. I contacted the live support then and I told them that they should offer only 3 to 5 continues and that 500 is much too much and it doesnt make sense to buy even one continue in this case. they said oh well, you never know and so on. I explained to them that one would have to spend so much money to win that it would be stupid to go for that. then they said: you dont have to participate in it. lol.

so these casinos ought to do something about it. these tournaments probably make them a lot of money but the conditions are not fair.

slots tournaments can be fun but I give up until they change that.

Word of warning concerning GSOS tournaments at Fortune lounge.

Firstly, they introduced 3 continue options into the rules.

Secondly, PRIZES ARE BONUS MONEY and not real cash. Even if you pay for rebuys or countinue options with real cash.

Futher more, my friend just spoke with their CS and they told her that even buy-in "Car giveaway tournament" has prizes in bonus credits. Only real thing there is a car actually.

Yep, I think this is in response to complaints about this issue and the money involved. Actually, until I heard they'd made it 60 min I was nervous about the issue after playing in a smaller one and the reels spinning for like a minute kinda cost me the win I *think* - but it wasn't a big deal.

If it cost me 1mil euro, I think that would be an emotional day.

I just hate they chose Tomb Raider for the big one. Actually, I'm yet to play a MG slot that has the same kind of bang for $ as Slots on other software providers (The Reel Deal on Vegas Tech, for example).

Gonna try out this Auto-Spin download thing, cheers.

But the general consensus is that manually clicking (if your timing is spot on) is faster than the auto-clicker?

The autoclicker i mentioned clicks at 1 click per 1 milesecond, and its quicker than my timing even when its spot on, but be careful, just remember its running, i have opened everything on my desktop a couple of times when i forget it running.

Good Luck

thx - as I'm almost certainly going to do exactly this (retardation ftl sigh), what's the best way to fix it? Or does it just crash your PC? (I suspect the latter)

Well its easy to avoid, you just use Ctrl & A to start it, and Ctrl & R to stop it.

Just remember to stop it lol.

It never crashed my pc, it just opened a lot of things at the same time, give it a go, you'll be pleased with the results, and it also means you don't have to keep clicking like crazy, which can be very tiresome when you play a 20 minute tourney.

Good Luck

These tounaments are simply not conducted fairly..

Everyones computer responses diffently based on their installed hardware, software and connnection speed. The only way these tournaments can everyone an equal chance from the start(obviously, randomness of play spin outcome will always vary), is to allow play to end only after all coins are bet, not timed play.

This is why I never would pay to play any of these or pay to continue a "free" tournament, which really is probably never won unless you deposit to continue play.

this works for me 2 , never spin them as soon as they load or i get the never ending reel spin , if i leave them 2 or 3 minutes before i play they seem to work ok

tho occasionally on a saturday or sunday they are just murder

Delayed appreciation - but you're a legend for recommending this program. Thank you! If I fluke win anything decent in the big 1mil Euro tourney, I shall be sure to ship you a thank you % - and pls don't hesitate to remind me of this promise if you should see me (inevitably) bragging / celebrating any such success on CM forum ;)

I tried to convince Mark at 32Red that this clicker program was dangerous and terrible and that ALL players should be advised NOT to use any such programs. And I also tried to convince him that his plans to introduce AutoPlay would be very unfair to the good people who have been practising their clicking muscles through high-repetition manual clicking practise.

Unfortunately, I was unable to keep a chat symbolic straight face for very long. Sigh.

------

And yes, I have forgotten the clicker was on multiple times and opened up dozens of programs on my desktop - which is always a fun reminder of my personal disability that some ungraciously refer to as 'retardation'.
