So I just logged in to Ecocard and noticed they no longer have bank transfers available in my account. Not only that, it seems that now all deposits will be made in EUROS rather than dollars.

This is giving me some deja vu like a couple of months before EWalletXpress pulled out of Canada. Interestingly, I never received an email this time about any upcoming changes either.

oh well, I guess they've gotten enough fees out of me already anyhow.

Interesting, I just got a call from someone from EcoCard - they said they'd heard from one of their partners that I was complaining. ;)

Anyhow she said there were some technical issues with the instabanking feature and they were trying to get it sorted but no timeframe. I told her, "That's funny, that's what EWX said too!"

So I decided to leave my account open and see if they get it to come back, but in the meantime I can't use it. So any of the casinos that I used to play using that method, I hope you miss me! :)

Around 2 years ago, they discontinued local bank transfers to Hong Kong and instead they only allowed international bank transfers. I hated this as extra fees were incurred and could take the equivalent of $25 per transaction. I also us their debit cards but though my primary a/c is in USD I can only use Euros for the debit card. Needless to say, I lose out on currency fee conversion. Everything else s smooth though.

They were my primary E-wallet before.
Mostly because of their low fee structure.
That was until I discovered they charged my card in a difference currency than my account and deposits.
May have been OK if they hadn't added their currency conversion fee on top.

I did complain several times, but they never reimbursed the fees.
They did, however, change the way their banking works. Now it's made clear that deposits will be charged in EUR or GBP, regardless of your account currency. And you can compare their rates before accepting the transaction.
