I logged into facebook today and there's a message from my old roomie, he's married now, he and his wife and her two teenagers live in this house in South Phoenix. Not the best neighborhood, but not usually too bad. So last night at 2am they're awakened by a whole bunch of gunshots right outside the house. Everyone hit the floor and crawled toward the bathroom and huddled behind the tub. A few minutes later it got quiet, then they heard the helicopter and police outside, so he went out to see what was up. Two bullets had hit the house, one lodged in the doorframe, the other went through the house and into the kitchen ceiling and he thinks it might have gone through the roof.
They had two vehicles sitting in the front driveway, the truck's side window was smashed by 3 bullets, the van got 4 or 5 holes, including one the went through the roof.
The police think what happened is that someone in a car was chasing someone who was on foot. The person on foot probably ran into Luis's driveway and was using his truck as cover as they were shooting back and forth at each other, several other cars on the street also had bulletholes, and there are probably some more in trees and walls they just haven't found yet.
Happy New Year! Anyhow nobody's hurt, just a little freaked out. I wanted to share the pics....
The vehicles in the driveway...

The Van:

Roof of the van:

Three bullets through the window, but he said it doesn't look like any damage inside the truck or the windshield!

You can see where the bullet lodged in the doorframe - very lucky, look at all that glass.
