Just searched through their site and must say all these documents seems to be real. Currently I'm reading about air missions in Iraq.

IDK! I don't even care if they are real. I just hope that guy get whats coming to him for the 2 rapes, if indeed he is guilty, and that would suffice. I also think that watching Eric Holder, head of the D of J, have a stroke or two over the whole thing is great. "I love my country, but I hate my government" or however that quote goes, that's how I feel...

Perhaps they shouldn't have devoted so many resources to the "war on online casinos", because this lapse is FAR more serious than ANYTHING online casinos could EVER do to the country. Wikileaks was also being funded by donations, the kind of transactions the DoJ SHOULD have been looking into, but instead they decided this "was OK", but online casino transactions had to be "stopped at any cost".

Only NOW are they trying to cut the paths of funding to Wikileaks, but it is too late. All they have is ONE source of the leaks, but rest assured there are others, and there WILL be further leaks.

The problem with politicians is that SOME secrets are kept simply because they have acted outside the law, and hoped to get away with it. Others are designed to allow corruption to continue. Unfortunately, when these are leaked, EVERYTHING is put at risk, including secrets that can only serve to put people at risk. Despite their stand, I bet the US government do all they can to steal secrets from OTHER countries, and this has probably been revealed in these leaked documents. These other countries presumably feel just as outraged that the US have stolen THEIR secrets.

Whether something should be exposed or not largely depends upon your point of view. China wanted to block certain websites, and the US was OUTRAGED that Google was pressured into giving in to the Chinese demands, yet the US now want the SAME to be done to Wikileaks, they want the internet "censored" so that no-one can access the site, just as China wanted Google to prevent Chinese people from accessing US news sites carrying stories about China and Tibet. The US said it was the RIGHT of the Chinese people to be able to access these stories, just as Wikileaks feels it is the RIGHT of the people to know what their governments have been doing in their name.

These double standards will allow regimes like China to take the moral high ground by saying "YOU censor the internet, so who are you to tell us we CANNOT censor the internet"

LOL....Dinner, consensual sex and breakfast together in the morning = rape?
I'll be in jail for a long time.

C'mon mate please don't be naive.

One of the women who are accusing him of this has criminal ties with an organisation that is linked to the CIA.

You then have the head female activist who is also saying it is a crock of shit.

They are trying there hardest to get rid of this bloke- the thing is back in the day you could kill this type of person without raising an eyebrow but NOW you have the internet where you have ears and eyes watching your EVRY movement.

not just the USA but Australia also want this man gone- our stupid prime minister says what he is doing is illegal but our law has nothing about that at all, when asked what was actually illegal about what he was doing- she couldnt answer as there is no such thing.

On a Side note, I had a friend who had this crazy woman as a partner for several years. She ended up accusing him of rape aswell and I kid you not this poor man was gulti from the moment those words came out of her mouth.

it all goes to trial and out comes her brother who said his own sister admitted to him that it was all bullshit and that she just wanted to see him burn.

Case closed but I can tell you for 6 whole months this poor man went through absolute hell for it.

he counter sued but she had nothing.

Ok, I am sure there are political motives in the whole rape case, no doubts, but I guess this situation makes me worry in a different light...

I know there is a popular theory on this subject, but its not popular enough that the global media would report on it... Do the folks supporting the revelations of govt. secrets by wikileaks and others hold the same beliefs as Julian Assange and Zuckerberg from Facebook regarding the 'archaic nature' of privacy?

I can't believe that these so called 'freedom-of-info fighters' do not see a likely backfire in their assault... They claim to support the free flow of information, and they claim that this free flow of info keeps the powers that be in check. If they can be audited, they can't do as much harm, i guess is the rationale... But I see that in a cyclical form...

If privacy is not respected on personal levels, then we have an opening to an Orwellian State. If they (The state) know what everyone does, and when, then control becomes a simple pattern study. Likewise, if there is no objective line drawn on secrets of the state, when we don't have the most vital State secrets protected, if there are no secrets there, then I think that will lead to a fundamental degradation of privacy as a value... {There already is a generational gap in privacy standards... The younger gen's tend to advertise things on the social networks that older gen's consider embarrassing.} If privacy is devalued by society at large, the obvious effect will be breakdown of rights and freedoms... Which in turn could lead into the Animal Farm scenario that Mr. Assange claims to be protecting against.

So in effect, I think that Assange's attack on secrets of the state, or in a more contextual view, his assault on information and its right or lack of right to stay secret (or private) will lead eventually to a "big brother" state; the kind he claims to be fighting against...

So to re-answer the question, I don't know if they are true or not. I think the whole idea that the leaks website is based on is part of a bizarre and half-baked ideology on what govt's role should be... I agree that the USA more than any other country needs to be kept in check, but I don't think eroding the peoples right to privacy is a great way to keep the increasingly invasive govt. honest. I think in the long run, these tactics could prove to help the 'Big Brother' get bigger...

This is my thoughts on the subject of the Wikileaks. Much of the leaks are most likely very true, should they be leaked, most of it should, yes.
Where I see there should be some discretion in the leaks is if it put innocent civilians in danger, this should never be done.

As for the great secrecy of the true government behind the government, they need to be uncovered to an extent. Things have gone on far to long in to much secrecy that many can no longer trust what the public is told, from what actually goes on in hidden policy making or terroism against the unsuspecting population of this entire planet.

What the controlers behind our leaders tend to ignore is that the people hire leaders to carry out there wishes and to serve and protect. But do they and whom do they serve and protect?

When you have a government that is not serving it's people you can plainly see the evidence in this by the continual loss of freedoms, loss of industry, loss of sovereignty, loss of our parks and ports, loss of our nations wealth, loss of our voice that just falls on deaf ears, loss of our right to film law enforcement acting in a non protect and serve manner, loss of having clean real foods to eat, clean water and clean air and so much more.

There is way to much secrecy and for anyone to accept it as their right to operate in total secrecy means that you are willing to give up your rights and freedom so they may keep theirs. We are spied on in nearly every aspect of our lives, right into our homes, but guess that's okay, it's for our protection, right?

Because they do not just keep secret simply an operation that if it is leaked could cause the death of others, or keep secret the name of a person that may be a witness to horrendous crimes against humanity. They also keep very secret changes and events that effect our lives and freedom as well.

The secrets go far beyond such matters, that are benefitting a particular group of inidviduals that are using their secrecy to create fear and chaos, in order to restructure and cull societies to their desire and we are not given a true decision in any of it.

The thing with leaks and conspiracies, the factors behind these events know that although people may discuss such issues, no one will really do anything about it. Sure someone like Julien Assange and others will speak out and inform the people things that otherwise we would be totally oblivious to, but we as a people will not budge from our comfort zones to actually investigate or act upon any of it. Our attention span wains from one subject to the next simply for nothing more than discussion, tomorrow we move on to something else.

We may gripe about the high cost of living, but we can't even act upon that, so we are effectively a very much nuetered society. Gone are the days of true rallying and protesting, making the powers that be, take notice of our numbers and our input. Where we once made a stand together in masses are now only acted upon by the few, the days of true unity are gone and acceptance of big brother and hidden agendas is now the norm.

Take the example of the Branch Dividians, did the women and children have to pay with their lives because there was supposedly no other way of dealing with a hypothetical situation? David Koresh was villianized, so the country watched their tv's as a mass killing took place. Since no one could see the childrens faces of fear and horror as they hid inside the building, wondering what was happening to them, the concensus of the public was, oh how terrible, well back to my chores. Innocent children were killed and no one cares, because it's yesterdays news. Society is treated like nothing more than movie and tv watchers, waiting for the next exciting episode to watch.

Now with Assange, he leaks information and what do you know, a molestion/rape charge is miraculously pulled out of the blue, set up, probably, because one of the ways of dealing with mavericks is to make them appear like villians with an agenda of their own. All to often, people are more interested in such bogus hollywood type scandals, than the facts that bring a whistle blower to the point of ridicule.

It even happens here on such a place as a forum, someone states their thoughts, gives evidence to back up why they think or perceive things the way they do and someone else comes along and ridicules, making others thoughts sway to, hmm, must be a mental problem with this person, or they're a conspiracy nut job, guess I will ignore the poster. Doesn't matter if the heckler does any research or not on their own, just using counter attacks of ridicule is usually enough to cause a person to lose credit.

So here we have a person that is bringing very important information to the people and rape charges will be what most will think of him now. Forget that he has won awards for reporting crimes against humanity, he's a villian now and the process of discrediting him and others is in the making.

Then the other thought about this whole leak thing is, if they didn't want it out, it wouldn't be. So I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future this is going to be used as a reason "against terroism", to shut down the internet permanently, thus losing yet another freedom, freedom of research and informaiton.

Here is just a small sample of what 911 has brought us, children now being strip searched by the TSA. Desired end results of an event that is in and always will be in question with those who want to dig deeper.

I am also very thankful for those on the forum here that can discuss things without being simply hecklers. Kudos for all the great, thinking members here.

@Mavin: I just re-read this thread, and I guessed I missed the heckling, where is that?

I stated that as it has happened with other threads that I and others have started or posted in. But it was to make the point that it takes very little to discredit someone, whether it be on a simple forum, a conspiracy site or public media.

With Julien Assange, people should be suspicious when something so negative pops out after such information has been leaked, it's highly possible a ruse to make the person look disreputable.

But I also have my suspicions of this information, as I am pretty sure, if they didn't want it out, it wouldn't be. Not that I think the information being leaked is false, but most of it is older events, I would be very interested to see more current stuff.
