Question Cross brand self exclusion

Hello I self excluded from Ladbrokes in 2019 and managed to bet with Coral recently.

I just learned they are are sister sites and fall under the same license and believe I should been self excluded on Coral.

If this is the case would I have any chance of getting deposits back?

Depends exactly when in 2019 for two reasons:
  • The licenses merged in July 2019 - Entain were one of the worst when it came to multi-operator self-exclusion because they tended to do the absolute bare minimum required (i.e. nothing)
  • It has been more than 5 years - the maximum amount of time for an operator self-exclusion.

Beyond that, you would need to demonstrate that all the information matches exactly between the two accounts (name, postal address, email address, phone etc) and no attempt has been made to circumvent the process.

However, the procedures have been tightened up considerably in recent years due to people participating in self-exclusion fraud (knowingly signing up with slightly different details, keeping the winnings and claiming back the losses) - so legitimate cases are in a much weaker standing as well.

That's why a lot of sites - including Ladbrokes (section 15) and Coral (section 21) - absolve themselves of liability if you "circumvent" the system, and may include clauses that forfeit the money to charity instead as a clear deterrent.

In this case, it sounds like you gambled and lost fairly, then realised after the fact you might have a chance at the freeroll - that sounds like a bad faith argument to me, even if you managed to tick all the boxes above.
