Credit / Debit Card Charges By Processor

Have you experience an inflated charge with a processor or become victim of a rogue?

  • The charges are coming in exactly if not by a penny or two off, so I'm not experiencing this issue

So I know we have a lot of threads lately about credit cards, bank cards, prepaid cards, and the such. So what I'm wondering is. I have started noticing a trend with the newer processors that apparently, there charging anywhere from as little as $0.01 over what you authorized to skies the limits. So far the largest gap in difference between what they should have charged and they did charge was $1.07 so far. Yet if I only were to have placed oh lets say $20.00 on my card, tell them to only take the $20.00. Then the processor says there only going to take $19.97, but really take $21.07 that's ultimately going to cause a decline. Mainly because the processor is going to take way more than there entitled to.
I'm wondering if the currency conversation rate is that badly out of whack with these processors and my prepaid card that's causing this issues, or if there "skimming" a few extra cents to a buck off the top. As a profit to them on top of what there already making off the casino for processing for them.
Before we get back into people who are paying fees for international purchases or even paying by the transaction with there. I'm talking about the actual base charge. The charge that happens before all of your banks fees come into play.
So I have setup a poll, I have included a 3rd option. Mainly because I have also read about how people have become victim of rogue processors lately. So I'm also curious if anyone who just hasn't come out yet and said anything have become victim of a rogue processor. I know myself got a $0.99 charge that never did complete, but still sat pending for 2 weeks before falling off. That I never authorized.

I see it all the time with the EZ Voucher. I buy one for whatever amount but my card is charged anywhere from $.10-$.40 so far. Not a big deal but it would be nice to know up front especially if, as you mentioned, you are using a prepaid card.

I'm going through the exact scenario you are talking about right now. Usually the processors are in China and lately it has been up to $1.78 overcharge. I am in discussion with the casinos about this right now. I started looking back at the charges from the past two months and I have been getting nickle and dimed the entire time. I can say that all of the charges from Vestapay? (Paste and Pay) go through for the exact amount I authorized. No doubt it is the processor trying to get extra money. The bad thing is they are telling the casinos they are charging a lesser amount so they are in fact double or triple dipping.

Well and so far the 3 casinos I have experienced this at. Have been rather accommodating and throwing free chips my way with the amounts being between 2 and 3 times the amount that I have been overcharged. So obviously I'm not throwing a fit on every charge (Basically saving up a few days worth of charges to make it a nice chip), yet it just seems annoying that there eating up my cushion I'm leaving in my account to cover the international transaction fee that I know is coming once the transaction completes.
The places I have played at so far don't offer Paste and Pay, but do offer other alternatives such as MyPaylinq or Easy Debit.
Kinda almost turns me off of online gambling again, mainly because I finally get comfortable with the idea of gaming online again. Then we come up with processors that decide to randomly charge extra because they apparently can.

This happened to me last year - it was what I considered a big phoney charge, something like $58, if I recall correctly. I tried to find out who/what/when etc., to no avail. (Note this was not an accredited casino, but not rogued, either.)

Rather than contest it, I simply closed that card, and now I only load what I intend to use right away; thus, I have had no other such experiences. :) Unfortunately for that particular casino, I've stopped depositing there, even though I enjoyed the games.
