So another known unknown, but common sense tells you more of the same might not be the most sensible course of action, there has to be a limit. Without the data studies from a longer trial period, it's jab and then hope.

I always thought the trial results were not a realistic prediction (skewed) because likely the participants were locked down or being ultra careful, the true test is when masks etc.. are discarded and people behave as normal, just as they do after having the influenza jab.

Protection from serious illness in the vulnerable groups is the most important thing the vaxxes must do, given they face the biggest risk from the virus.

The govt moan about the unvaccinated but in effect we are the real world control group, playing an essential role to enable the gov to analyse long term vaccine safety/effects. (in comparative groups)

Because what better way than to publicly shame lockdown rule-breakers by stuffing them in hazmat suits with a photo plastered on their person?

She's itching to round up those with any pictures of the Queen on their tea mug as well. If they're not Vaxxed, it's a Bonanza plus 5.

Luckily, on account of her socialism, likely she'll run out of money to print the photos.
 
Well all the evidence is there, know at least 4 people fully boosted and even the flu jab aswell, all positive covid, ive not had one jab, been to the pub loads the last week, not even caught a cold. These vaccines are nothing of the sort, yet I will be banned and have to have a vac passport soon probs, total lunacy!
 
Dont know where we are with Covid 2 years on, France reporting 200,000 new cases daily and the UK close to it.
Think we all have to now accept that its real, more dangerous than the flu and probably something we will
all have to live with for the rest of our lives.
Looks like Omicron may be a blessing in disguise if the data regarding the mildness of the symptoms
is to be believed, but who knows what may evolve in the future,possibly a mutation with the same high
transmission rate but more severe symptoms, hopefully it will never happen.
Looking forward to a better 2022 , we have earned it.

Quite interesting where the 95% efficiency comes from, when it really is ARR (absolute risk reduction) which was actually 0.84% less than 1% not the 95% (Relative Risk Reduction) the media touted and jizzed over. He Tweeted about the ARR a few months ago and Twitter did nothing, he is about to go on the Joe Rogan show tomorrow, I would expect this was done with cynical timing, because they know more mainstream people will see him on the Rogan show, then they might go and look at his feed from the last couple of years, so I am guessing they cynically deplatformed him on the eve of the Rogan appearence to get rid of all the previous tweets.

Don't really see the issue with masks. Mainly on account of the fact humans are pretty disgusting

Post covid i can see having a mask dispenser beside the door - ye who enters, shall don.

And take off your shoes ffs ( what kind of people think it's acceptable to walk into peoples carpeted homes with their shoes - i know, monsters)

I don’t know what all the fuss is about. Just lock the whole world down for 2 months. End of Covid. Hospitals would be the only thing that would remain open (but wouldn’t take new admissions) and staff would have to live on-site.

May seem a satirical view but given the alternative, many years from now (super vaccine permitting), the human race will look back and wonder what the hell we were playing at (assuming anyone survives).

There are plenty of flaws in that approach, I agree and of course it is partly tongue-in-cheek but I doubt it has as many flaws as what we are doing instead.

The first argument will be, you need food and water. Agreed but not that difficult to survive for 2 months with sufficient warning. The way we are carrying on at the moment will be worse because there will be that many people ill or isolating the supermarket shelves will be empty anyway.

Yes, there would be a lot of implications, I admit but in the long term? Just imagine where we will be if another strain, far more deadly arrives and the vaccines give no protection against it.

At the moment we are so halfhearted about it, that it’s farcical really. I mean, wearing masks (which I do) but then letting thousands of people in and out of the country everyday, without knowing what they are carrying.

All this, you have to test before you come and go was never going to work, as it’s impossible to police and let’s face it, we have proof don’t we because the Delhi and Omicron variants didn’t walk here did they.

For me, half measures are a waste of time. What will this achieve long term?

The unvaccinated will face an IFR 7x less than this, as omicon is 7x less deadly.

If you are under 60, you have more chance of dying by getting in a car and driving 100 miles.

Covid is fuck all, people have lost all sense of perspective!!

My chances of getting killed by a a shark are around one in 5 to 7 million, broadly speaking ; however, my chances, well, plummet further , if I never go in the ocean as they arent known to be land crawling animals. Of course, they also increase dramatically if I choose to go out swimming daily in shark infested waters with a shaving cut.

My odds of catching covid are really low, or moreso, becoming drastically ill, should I contract it as I keep my circle small, wear my mask and have my vaccinations and wash my hands.
They also increase dramatically, when I say 'sod covid' and go hang out with randos in large, crowded spaces who dont give a toss about basic, sensible measures.

I know the odds I'll play.

All he would need is the media tracing covid cases back to this party, he can't win either way in the situation, the option to have a negative test rather than only be vaccinated seems a fair, logical compromise.

As long as the freedom to decide for yourself is not taken away by the likes of gates, blair, schwab and co.

In some Asian countries masks have been a thing for a long time that people wears if they are even a little bit sick with anything, because for some reason its considered rude to go around sharing your cold with others.
I know the commonly worn masks dont do much to curb spread because they dont filter out the small stuff, but its hard to argue that they dont reduce the amount of saliva&snot that goes flying when you sneeze/cough.

Its funny that something that is considered common decency in some Asian countries have become some sort of stand for personal freedom in Western countries, people comparing it to a muzzle etc.

I always thought the mask wearers in places like japan were doing it through fear of catching something or to filter smog/pollution, never knew it was cultural etiquette if you had the sniffles etc

We had a widely used alternative called a handkerchief but they fell out of fashion, I suppose we've all gone out feeling under the weather at some point (pre 2020) without always thinking 'might be mild symptoms for me, but if someone elderly or immune compromised catches this it could be a different outcome'.

Having lived in an Asian nation, while germs and whatnot...VERY much the pollution of a ga zillion bikes on roads, carrying an entire fam on a single bike
I went to work and had to shower before work AND AT work..to take off the soot

We also have (hopefully had now) a cultural thing at weddings and weird parties: waving your handkerchief around on a French song.

It probably varies a bit depending on where you look, but i think it also has to do with cultural differences.
What i mean is Social etiquette/politeness is a much bigger thing in say Japan compared to Sweden.

I know they wear them mostly due to allergies (caused by pollution) but its also considered polite when meeting people while sick.

In one of the remotest areas fully vaccinated folk tested positive for covid. Given that over 90 cruise ships are being monitored due to fully vaccinated passengers testing positive is the vaccine making people sick?
