Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

Did vaccines really save the world?

Interesting read for anyone open minded and prepared to countenance that the pharmaceutical world does occasionally exaggerate the benefit [& need] of their interventions.

I was thinking the other day, if I was offered a bit of dead or weakened virus added to a sugar cube, I'd be much more inclined to take that, I believe that is how the polio vaccine was given for some time - not sure if it was effective?

1609171124016.png

With this pfizer mRNA vaccine does anyone know what happens to all the ingredients, oils and other substances etc.., do they disappear or remain in the body?

For anyone who doesnt understand the difference vaccines have made to the whole world and our daily existence, here's a graph that shows the difference in life expectancy over the last 200 years.
I think even the most closed mind will see that we live a bit longer now, and I dont think its a coincidence that we started using vaccines more and more in the 20th century, combined with medical advances this is the reason why its normal to live well into your eighties these days....
But I am sure there are a few on here who still doubt the facts and the science and would rather read obscure BS from failed scientists and conspiracy theory websites.

Let's have a little look into J.B. Handley.

Sigh.

My daughter is autistic, she had the MMR. You know how much time I have for anti-vaxxers who espouse nonsense such as Handley does via his bullshit organisation? Precisely fuck all.

Also, the idea that autism can be 'cured' is right up there with hateful shite like 'conversion therapy' for gay people.

Sheesh mack, really.

No offence was intended Chopley I can assure you of that.

I appreciate that mack but for the record I'm not offended and/or think you were personally advocating for everything that the guy you quoted believes in.

My point really is that's the sort of ballpark the guy is in, utter and complete nonsense, up to and including 'curing' autism, so I'm not sure how much he has to add of merit to this debate.

Are the nightingales also packed to capacity?

see I know nurses and 2 anaesthetists at James cook, Europe’s biggest hospital in Middlesbrough... yet they are nowhere near capacity and never put into ‘special measures’

just what I was told is all by professionals I know personally and have many years.

granted this may just be my local hospital so can’t speak for others.

but obviously If this new super corona is here they will need those superb massively used during the early peak nightingales?...

The North East is still fairly low compared to the rest of the country though, Sunderland's ICU is almost full at the moment. A lot of hospitals in the south east are so full they are having to cancel operations and route patients to other hospitals as they have no beds. The nightingales are a last resort, they don't have the staff to run them, and doing so would mean closing other essential services to divert staff. I said at the time I thought they were for end of life care for people with C-19, rather than treatment centres, and I still think thats true. You can't run, what is essentially a 500-4000 bed ICU unit, when you only have enough staff to run 20 or so beds at normal times.

Hartlepool's figures are terrible, they will be in Tier 4 before New Year.

most terrifying virus indeed....
Dealer will be sitting there fuming now, I was expecting him to post that either tonight or tomorrow. Never mind he will have the back up one ready to go. That figure is also rising, it was 377 a couple of days ago.

One thing I keep forgetting to mention is the costs as people keep bringing it up. How some people think the country will be bankrupt because of furlough etc.

People should remember, the government are spending almost £150 billion on a rail link that, essentially, allows Londoners to get to Birmingham 20 minutes quicker.
That amount alone more than covers the cost of furlough and small business grants and loans.
Obviously there are other costs involved here, but if we can afford a train for £150 billion without it putting us into financial difficulty, then I'm sure we should be able to survive.
Having said that, there should be heads rolling and prison sentences handed out for a lot of the spending that has gone on. £12 billion for track and trace (remember that?) that didn't work and seems to have been forgotten about, and plenty of other similar fuck ups.

Yeah read that earlier. And as no Post Mortem's how can they be sure there were no undetected health problems.
Do people understand what they class as an underlying condition though? Eczema for example is one. I think people have a misconception that an underlying condition is heart disease or COPD or something, but it isn't, it's literally anything they are being treated for. So if a 25 year old died of C-19 but had went to the Dr and got some cream for Eczema 6 months ago, they wouldn't be included in that 388 total.

That’s official deaths for that group tho..

that’s the point I’m making, I’ll not be wasting all night on stats to prove nor de-prove this as we can all do this until the cows come home mate.

but as I’ve always stated for the mass majority it’s a nonsense and won’t medically affect us.

also what I said about James cook is also factual as the trust back this up, not to mention the smart folks I know working there.

also we where once at very high risk, lol high risk from what? The Germans invading again ha!

Well at least we've got an NHS this year, dont count on it being around the way we are ruining the economy. Borrowing insane amounts of cash and or printing money never ends well.

The NHS isn’t fit for service, never has been mate.

when I had Isabelle I paid private for her mother and me to have a nice quiet room and decent care.

anything remotely serious I’d avoid the NHS like a curaçao casino in all honesty.

I added myself to my partners work private health scheme from Jan1st. The NHS is terrible. And I dont know if youve been in a hospital this year, I had to take my mum for an appt a couple of weeks ago, the place was deserted, really deserted. I wandered up the stairs to the floors with wards, and half the wards were empty with all lights off. (Royal Free London)

Overwhelmed my arse!

Yeah internal bleeding mate a few months back, was due to boxing however.

wasn’t in there long, it was hardly packed to the rafters then mate.

And I’ve zero argument about it being overwhelmed (Europe’s biggest) anyhow as said I know 2 professionals and some nurses personally whom have told me this for months.

I don’t need MSM to guide me when I’ve personal and trusted experience.

I didn't say it was in special measures?
Therefor I’d not believe a lot of what’s read mate.

as said I’m sure many hospitals may have been busy, it is flu season after all, it’s just the scaremongering is insane, this isn’t the plague... this isn’t the rage virus from 28 days later..

mass over reaction considering the majority of us it doesn’t affect, and the backlash of these silly measures will be felt from many for years.

I wonder why they have had to cancel operations and stuff then? Maybe the staff are just lazy and wanted Christmas off?

Because just incase it’s overwhelmed? When it never was?.

my bicep op has been put back twice, yet when I was pissing blood and passed through it was like a conveyor belt no sod was busy nor rushing around, again in my local hospital, but it’s the biggest in Europe.

Well theres 21000 people currently taking up hospital beds with it mate, so it's not exactly scarce, and those 21000 are ill enough to need to be in hospital.

You going answer any of the numerous questions you've been asked over the past few weeks? Like why you lied about a house party being a BLM protest?

Out of 66million people ? Out of those you mention I wonder how many are high risk also?

just to mention just walked sox and had a unexpected snow flurry which was nice, the ice on the ground has a good crunchy feel to it so hopefully a few inches isn’t too much to ask by morning.

It's not 21.000 out of 66 million, it's 21.000 out of how many beds and hands to treat them are available.
So what about less deaths under the age of 60? Or isn’t this a thing..

don’t worry tier 85 won’t be far away lol.

hope you had a splendid Xmas and new year, I’ve enjoyed mine thus far.

work again the 4th sadly, but as a key worker I’m not one to shy away from my public duty.

Surely this can't be the obvious answer to the nightingale staffing issues.

The Army, Navy and Raf, must surely have enough trained medical staff to run it at ease.
Yep, also send in the SBS, SAS and if macron is ok with it the foreign legion.

I mean we have folks dying on the job, aunty mable dropping dead in Iceland for her artic sponge no less!..

That said as the nightingales where never used prior vaccine nor ‘peak’ most are shut, those open won’t see much if any at all business through the doors.

I doubt they have many trained for ICU, but even so, they only have 14600 staff. Most of those will be low level nurses for every day needs, or some Doctors. Most won't have set foot in an ICU ward during their working life.

).

The DMS is staffed by around 12,100 service personnel (8,100 regular and 4000 reserve) and 2,500 civilian personnel and provides healthcare to 135,360 UK Armed Forces personnel (as at 1 Oct 2020: The UK armed forces quarterly service personnel statistics).

The article below estimates 16000 to run a full capacity nightingale, which I think is probably over the top, but as some wards can have 200 staff then it's probably not that far out in theory.

Plus, obviously if you take staff away from anywhere, then services will have to be degraded, which will then lead to claims that the Government are killing people by not going ahead with operations.

Wonder how many of the nightingales will be staffed and actually used mate, especially in light of this most worrying mutation...

guess the numbers we will have in time.

I don't understand why people keep saying that? What about it? I think the one thing pretty much everyone agrees on is that pensioners and people with pre-existing serious conditions are more likely to die. I think there are about 15 million over 60's in England, so whats your plan, just let them all die?
Of course that will increase to deaths in younger people as they won't have a chance of getting to hospital for anything as pensioners will be filling every bed space available.

For treating Covid? I don't think many. I think they exist for EOL care. They don't have a fraction of staff available for that, let alone full ICU care.

Honestly I think he needs to stop fucking about with Tiers, they aren't working, and haven't worked. Go into a full lockdown for 3 months, like the first one. That gives 3 months to vaccinate the people who need it most, and just as importantly, get the numbers down. Hopefully after a vaccination roll out, any increases afterwards would be much slower.

I don't want a lockdown, but I don't want the Tier system either. No one knows if they are coming or going, no one understands the rules, and a lot ignore it.

Get people who need it, vaccinated, Get the numbers down to the lowest they have been, then hopefully a month after that, thinks will be close to normal again.

I know you will disagree with me, but sometimes the worst answer is the only one that works.

Because the majority of us it doesn’t affect mate, and you can’t simply stop everything because of this.

not to many the many fudged stats and numbers, I’m glad you agree the numbers I posted where fact tbh.

the other numbers are made up of the fat folks (obesity) bame and also those with underlying issues... certain communities frankly take the piss out of Covid and due to the culture they mix like nothing has happened, the issues lie with the above.

yes now I won’t wear a mask or comply to this no longer mate, but I did to the book for 2 months.

when kids can attend school no issues all these tiers and fire breaks and other laughable bullshit are pointless.

yes I guess you don’t agree mate but that’s where my thoughts and politics are at, I’ve no hard feelings as you don’t agree...

but I’m not one one to change my view, ignore my experiences as certain others don’t concur.

Reason the tiers and nonsense are uttered is they acted late, now we all suffer.

had we had a real lockdown for 2 months, just like the one i adhered to, to the word it would of been different..

stop the dinghy people , close borders, close the lot then we wouldn’t be here now.

i just won’t abide to this utter BS now as it’s a farce.

i also don’t think for a moment it’s as deadly as uttered.

sorry if anyone’s feelings are hurt but tough, it’s what I think, Iam entitled a opinion as much as the rest of you..

(sorry col, didn’t mean you with that mate)

You keep talking about the majority it doesn't affect though mate. About 20% of our population is over 65. The fat folks (obesity) bame & those with underlying issues make up a hell of a lot of the other 80% too. Type 1 Diabetes accounts for around 10% of the pop, but does include over 65's so hard to tell how many, but it is a lot.

Not sure what you mean by kids can attend school no issues?

My daughter only missed about 2 weeks this year,
all she mixes with at school, all the folks she sees when her mother has her, same when I have her..the family, friends... and at school all mixed....

when she goes back does the virus know not to transmit? Surerly a child at school is a massive carrier.

and those I mention mate then by all means lock them down to high hell and shield them, it’ll be a waste of time as certain cultures won’t listen as they all live in the same house, there work is all the same and mix and breed like rabbits virus or no virus.

And it’s the tiny minority stats speaking that are infact affecting the rest of us, I lost my job due to this, if I didn’t have savings that where a nightmare to issue I may add, or a favour getting new quals god knows where I’d be mate...

this can’t continue, it’s no why justifiable.

Think the nightingales were one of few decent proactive ideas the government had, doesnt matter if
no one ever uses them, they are there if everything turns pear shaped, who knows what coming with mutations,
all we need is one that is a super spreader and is immune to the current vaccines and we will be in dire straights

Ps is anyone else living by themselves going covid/lockdown/tier stir crazy, I seriously am

Great ‘idea’ yes.

But never used as there was never a need, sure us the tax payer will pick up the cost down the line...

And a super spreader of a virus that won’t affect almost none of us sounds a bit strong mate, you can’t hide from this thing forever.

im aware it does affect a tiny majority, gaz told me it directly affected you and not for a second do I mean any disrespect or malice mate.

but it’s overkill for the amount of folks it affects health wise, it’s ruined me financially.. I lost my job, savings and had to re train for a virus that won’t touch me...

I'm back from cooking for my daughters Uni type friends on xmas day and we partied for the most part of me being down there. These future leaders of our country have it right in my opinion. No measures do they take.
But because I don't think that I must be right I am now going to shut myself at home against my better judgement.

My brother lost his job too for 2 months and didn't get benefits because of some loophole in the law. He isn't rich either, far from actually. He still stands behind the measures being taken tho.

Don't be so arrogant as to think it won't or can't touch you. As you said, your daughter still goes to school and travels from you to her mother which means there's 10s of contacts a day which could potentially lead to you getting ill. You might think you're 100% healthy and have no underlying conditions, you could be one of those "unlucky" ones that gets it bad. There's no such thing as being untouchable.

But please, do carry on whatever you think is right. This topic is just going in loops. It's not like anyone here is going to change their minds really. I've read the same shit about a 100 times now. And you probably think the same.

@ESCJAMIE can stick with his competitions pal for free money, I’m out! Haha!..
Whos my pal?, your right thou,I am way out of your league, You would be so lucky if I got my hands on you but I Would rather get with a dog
