Georgia School District Quarantines Over 850 Students, Teachers After Reopening for Six Days

Thing is now we still keep hearing about amount of cases each day.

They are never so quick to tell you if any of the cases are even showing symtoms.

Last couple of weeks been several hundred more cases in Scotland to add to the thousands we had.

Yet in intensive care there are only 3 patients in intensive care Covid related in the whole country and nothing to say those people would not be in intensive care anyway for some other reason.

Take from those figures what you like.

for some odd reason, accidentally pressing a jumble of keys while I type in this heat posts the draft before it's finished, you guys are quick though! :p

It's a good idea that people who are not likely to become seriously ill from the virus actually contract it, while the vulnerable are isolated and protected until herd immunity levels are seen.

I dont have any little 'semen demons' but were it to come to it; I've my teaching cert.

Was chatting a neighbour not 3 hrs ago; I understand it's a huge struggle to meet kids' educational needs.

But I'd sooner mine be a grade behind than the current (imo) risk

GL
truly hope it isnt

I don't believe for a second it is a risk.

More of a risk to kids keeping the schools closed.

But no doubt if a kid even sneezes in the next 2 weeks that idiot Sturgeon will lock everything down lol. How i hate that woman:laugh:

If you are in a country where the virus is active everywhere it would be expected to have cases in schools. Especially a country that seems to have such a poor attitude to the virus and where many do not wear masks or social distance.

But to be honest. It says quarantines 850 not 850 have got it. There might only have been 1 or 2 cases so they quarantine the whole school as everyone might have been in contact.

That just looks like another story to shock and over dramatise things.

As you know, I was against the 1st lockdown, we should have focused on protecting over 70s and people who eat too much etc but let the economy carry on.

But no, weve now destroyed a huge amount of our tax generating economy, borrowing billions in the process, and are heading for a financial disaster that even I am very scared about.

This time next year, we will be in serious danger of a country going bust, let alone the 1/2/3 million jobs that will be lost by then.

And all for a virus that kills a tiny amount of people under 50, IE the main workforce.

The shit will hit the fan, but the shit will be from a 200 pig farm and the fan will be a tiny usb one.

And dont even think about a 2nd lockdown, otherwise society will collapse trust me

oh, not disputing that
here, very few cases; i see though very few keen people eager to send the kids off

we're pretty...tolerant of all the measures and abide by them and err on the side of caution

states? sure, ship em off - but if you arent keen to avoid flooding beaches, bars and forgo measures...well......

It def isnt a universal do or dont

It’s a once in a generation thing, no matter what government of whatever country did it was too much or not enough.. not a situation you can win from.

yeah after the horse bolted the opposition parties can say should of, could of would of etc... but that’s just Playing politics and is utterly useless.

in regards to schools, me and Isabelle’s mother decided not to send her back until September, not because we where scared of the virus or the risk to belle.
It was we didn’t want a 6 year old little girl going to school where she can’t play, can’t hug her friends or hold hands and think for a second any of this is normal because it’s not.

we home schooled the weeks she wasn’t there and done a bloody good job, Isabelle is thankfully smart and estimated at least a year above her peers academically as it was before Covid.

but what about the kids whom don’t have decent parents who schooled them? Or where to backwards to realise there child needed educating? Maybe those kids whom need social interaction? Need to see others to learn and grow up?..

We have no risk to our kids with Covid, almost zero... yes I get the spreading worry, but what is the alternative?.. hide forever?.. ruin kids development?.. sorry no..

There is no risk of the nhs being flooded (it never was anyhow) and the nightingales where utterly useless...
Get people whom need to be out and about working again, let the kids have there education and let’s get back to normal, not for one second will I buy ‘this new normal BS’

only speaking for the U.K. here, not other places.

My daughter lives in Melbourne and some people just play up and they do bait the police.

I actually feel sorry for the police some people just become so violent, no need :(
Ive seen a couple videos on youtube of people claiming they are sovereign citizens, so they dont have to answer to police/anybody.
Wouldnt fault anyone for dragging one of those out of their car.

children have an extremely low risk of becoming ill from the virus, and I think it adds to the herd immunity of the population as a whole.

I was reading about the h1n1 from 2009. Estimated 60 million cases. That virus effected young people but 1/3 of those 60 years or older had antibodies. Lasted about a year. around 13k deaths.

I'm so glad to hear other members have these issues too.

It's a known fact, that my post are usually grammatically incorrect and incoherent in general, so it's always a pain to try and correct typos, grammar, the whole point of the post etc.

And I usually still fail.

Finest evening all!

CM’s finest food expert and streaming PR man is here again!

I bring you tonight a mix as it’s empty the freezer time of the month... (not ‘that’ time of the month so don’t fear)

we have some chicken wings, in a bbq and green pepper topping... sticky

also loaded potato skins with garlic sauce and herb and a chicken burger in a most hipster and odd bun.. (pic included) it was on offer so tried it, and it’s the same as any other bun...

home made lemon and garlic dip and some hot sauce.

and to drink some iced Ribena, full sugar.. not the snowflake version!..

Hope your all well and smiling!..

We did some home schooling with Ellie but not the amount the school wanted, nor much of what the school wanted.

All they were doing was sticking up worksheets daily, Maths, English, Science and reading, and expecting the kids to do them. However, there were no help sheets available, and as most know, Maths taught in schools today, the calculation part, is totally different to what it was when we were at school. I brought this up previously with the teacher regarding homework, they should have an example of the workings so the parents know HOW to help the kids with it rather than just dumping questions in front of them.

I worked out there was almost 5 hours of work there daily, which I thought was ridiculous considering it was 30 degrees outside, plus, for anyone working from home, how were you supposed to find 5 hours a day?

She reads every night, to a much higher standard then the books put online by the school, so they pretty much got ignored.

Theres a little boy next door who she would play with over the fence, no physical contact, but they would throw balls over back and forwards to each other, and sit painting while chattering away to each other, actually being allowed some social interaction was more important than redoing the same maths problems she had been doing for weeks, not actually learning anything, just not forgetting what she had already learnt.

I was also still taking her out, I had legitimate reasons for being out, but used to call in parks on the way home as we were passing, go to the supermarket at the beach (about same distance as others) then if it was quiet, get out and let her run round a bit, which, in my mind, was just as important as doing homework.

But the main reason I didn't push her too hard was simply because most the class weren't doing any. When you submitted any homework, you could see how many of the class had submitted the same bit of work. After a month, I went back through some and saw it was an average of 3 pupils, all the same ones, who were actually doing any work. So it stands to reason, when they go back in September, they are going to have to be taught all the stuff they 'learnt' during lockdown, as almost all the class didn't do anything. I decided then fresh air, exercise and social interaction was more important at that point in time, rather than sitting in a room for 5 hours, doing work, she is inevitably going to repeat in a few weeks. She still did some, but it tended be done one of the days tasks rather than 4 or 5.

Well I never. Billions of viruses and germs are in the atmosphere constantly, sorry, "in the air"?

These scientists I tell ya. They're good. No, great even! I always assumed these things get transmitted in the earth's crust, or that there were secret sea caves where leprechauns trade mystical viruses!

lol, I think it was more to do with 'shelf-life' and transmission than origin :D
