Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

We actually eat something like that once in awhile. But with cabbage and eggs (instead of spuds) mixed and fried. Requires a tangy sauce (made from shrimp paste, fish sauce, lemon and the works) though.

Your music cannot compare to this in terms of hellish darkness.

The founder must be a true disciple of the Devil.

The lord of darkness is the epitome of evil personified, he can’t be compared to anything.
a one off master of the macabre!..
he’s a nice guy tho really.

That sounds nice, can i have the recipe please?
Uh, yeah sure!

1. Open up a box of müsli
2. Crack open a couple eggs, 1 egg for every dl of müsli.
3. put eggs in pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
4. the müsli is already pre-cooked, so it only needs to be heated a bit.
5. Throw the abomination you created in the trash and eat your müsli with some kind of dairy product like a normal person. Add cheese.

But after eating the cereal, you go and have cheese on toast instead of marmalade, don't you mate?

Did I mention that I hate cheese?

PS We're eagerly waiting for the takeaway abomination meal you are inflicting on your taste buds this evening.

Please tell me that it looks more appetising than a piece of corrugated cardboard you get from an Amazon parcel, covered in cheese sauce?

Nope.
I’m strictly jam and butter on toast, my daughter is marmite on toast but she’s a little gangster and only 6 so excuse her poor taste lol!.

Wondering (not finger pointing wondering, myself included) just how many would have posted as they did in the first couple of pages of this thread as they originally did eh?

No one saw this coming and I hope tomorrows easing the almost last measures of the UK's lock down is not something which comes back to bite us!

Good to see that people think more food than virus, calling it progress

Just to avoid full off-topic post, just remembered that there were these microchip theories long before Billy Boy really got in to vaccines save to world mode, Finland was developed also in this:

Scary stuff.

I ate loads of them growing up in the 80's.....

Edit: I should say that i found that video really interesting- 3 million Americans implanted in the 50's and 60's and Swedish Prisoners in the 70's then the Aged population in the 80's.

I thought this was just a pipe dream and nothing on that scale had ever been done.

Do you have any other stuff about this or know of any other clips or documentaries?

Cheese and Marmalade, two of the worst foods to ever grace a plate.

To be honest i wish i liked cheese. Always liked the idea of cheese and crackers plus there is a whole world of cheese if you like it.

I don't dislike cheese, just don't eat it 3 times a day like some here apparently do...

Since the kids moved in i am lucky if i eat once a day, bloody gannets, im wasting away.

I would send them to live with Kroffe though i think he would hide his goodies and maybe put a lock on the fridge.

yeah.. its totally only 3 times per day... like a normal person, haha.
Any more than that would be...too much?
Yes probably too much..So i dont do that.

It's as simple as a dish can be: finely slice some cabbage and mix it with some eggs. Add soy or fish sauce for umami. Fry it like an omelette.

Pretty similar to okonomiyaki.

The sauce is the key here: nam prik kapi. Recipies vary, but we use pretty much this version:

That looks amazing.

Im going to post that in the foodies group for later, thanks.

Spuds reminds me of Spurs or Tottenham Hotspurs - The Spuds.

Yes I agree new potatoes need accompaniment. Minted ones are nice but yes, lashings of butter and not had Herring for ages which i now fancy :)

We eat Mackerel mostly and Cod now and again. Either go well with new potatoes.

What about creamy mash?

See the potato is so versatile and gives you bags of energy which is sometimes necessary for drinking.
Ooo good god man fish with new spuds?? are u sniffing evost
You obviously use both cheese and marmalade. :p

Ill go one better.

I don't. I don't really eat bread either. It's like potatoes. Not much of an invention food wise.

Rancheros are bacon flavour mate. They still exist. KP make them.
They do big share bags of them in the likes of Poundland, Spar and Iceland.

Sorry, what are those places?

Its an old viking tradition.
There is however some controversy regarding wheter the jam/marmalade goes on top or under the cheese.
I fight for the "under" side, always have, and since hair started growing on my face that way has only started to make more sense. The cheese acts like a moustache protector of sorts.

You have now provoked me into retorting, Gene Wilder-style......

Drum roll please (clears throat)....

You snobby, ignorant son of a bitch, Waitrose-shopping bastard!!!

:p

Waitrose?? Nah, for all her faults the missus doesn't have facelifter hair, leopard print short tops, black leggings and a pierced navel. I think she goes to M&S judging by the stuff in the fridge.

Meself, I'm happy just to use the M&S carrier bags and go up Home Bargains.

Isle of Man declares 'local elimination' of virus. All social distancing measures removed completely. Borders remain closed whilst other jurisdictions (the UK in particular) aren't on top of it.

We were on Sky News!

(Over here we were testing like bastards right from the start, full contact tracing, 111 helpline set up one day after the first case, we didn't jettison infected elderly into care homes etc.)

Wassssup my... folks
Tonight’s culinary feast brought to you by our sponsor ‘ idle Monday cooking with a strangely attractive bald looking gent during a lockdown’
We have...
Marks and spencer beer battered cod and scraps.
Some skinny fries seasoned ( hate them personally but my daughter likes them)
And topped with my home grown, yes home grown parsley... expect loads of parsley until it’s gone!..
Some bread and butter on the side and a tomato relish dipping sauce.
Salt and vinegar doesn’t need to be mentioned.
A simple meal for a simple man. However most tasty and does a job.
Also my home grown radishes have popped up, I’ll be doing a meal Sunday with lamb that will make my mate gaz salivate in ore of its brilliance!
To drink I did have a few stella’s but instead opted for a nice chilled tesco 74’ blackcurrent and ice.
Have the daughter tomoz and a mate on here sent me a idea to keep her entertained (you know who you are) so we are geocatching...
anyhow brothers and sisters and the odd inbetween all the best.
Ben

The title kind of made if sound a bit better than it is imo.
Not saying its bad tho. Its cheap and saving lives, and its not like we got better options at the moment.

" For patients on ventilators, it cut the risk of death from 40% to 28%. For patients needing oxygen, it cut the risk of death from 25% to 20%."

Lets hope we see more effective medicine coming out in the coming months.
Vaccine seems like it is very far away, if its even possible making one, so the best hope for now seems to be medicine to treat the illnes rather than prevent it.

Evening all, bit tired tonight as had a busy day with the little one.

We have here a steak burger, yeah I made it and wasn’t a shop bought one.
Was standard beef mince with good quality fat content for flavour.

Also bought last week a jack and jalapeño cheese melt, used that and added cheddar as extra cheese is a must in this cruel cruel world.

Some seasoned skinny fries with added paprika and some onion rings. You will observe the lumps of brown also... these fine things are onion bhaji’s..

Some rocket salad on the burger with a peri dressing and bbq sauce to serve.

To drink is lime and lemon water, iced naturally.

All the best folks, I’m tired and hard as it would be to believe even a man like me needs beauty sleep.

Ben
