Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

Tonight’s offerings....
We have...coleslaw, no raw onion.
Mozerella sticks, koftas, onion rings (ironic) and some peri peri wings.
a chipotle dipping sauce and a hell hot chilli sauce again for dipping reasons.
to drink was actually Fanta this evening.
that said ive opened a beer now, because why not.
also have a burger to do later to maintain my man like body of a god.

Who's coming for dinner? :D

We have a steak burger, homemade. Infact defrosted this morning. And a buttermilk chicken burger.
toasted buns naturally, lightly coated with mustard.
topped with cheddar and green stuff.
with a hint of Siracha hot sauce.
Basic chips and onion rings coated with vinegar and pink sea salt.
To drink lord playford sadly ran out of Dr Pepper and other carbonated delights, so alas we have mere black current juice with ice.
All the best guys and ladies and other folks, hope we are well.
finest and most splendid regards as always.
Ben

onions are indeed the work of the devil. No wonder the lord of darkness is shilling them on here!
I am partial to a onion ring however, probably as the cooking process kills off the evil onion and just leaves deep fried goodness.
Deep frying is a bit like cheating tho.
I would almost be willing to try the abomination below just because its deepfried.

A simple rule to follow is the pet-rule, since their senses are sharper than ours.
Mans best friend says its poison.
I know dogs poison-radar gives a false positive for chocolate, but thats just The exception that proves the rule

This is correct. It was proven a few pages back with the fermented herring thing as well.

You're coming around Kroffe-san. Soon you will come to know the goodness known as the Oreo cookie.

Welcome to the dark side

Oh, but you seem to be mistaken.
That was not a dog.

Oreos - Literally the only food that stains the mouth black! Something sinister about that and kids go a little crazy after eating them.

Going back to onions, i will eat a whole roasted onion with a roast dinner.......loverley!

Apparently, eating one raw will knock a cold for six not that ive ever tried it. And what about tuna and red onion sandwiches?....delish!

Edit: Rubbed my eyes and remembered liquorice, more of a plastic than a food though.

Its true, but its not because onions are healthy.
Its just a much scarier disease, so the cold, in respect of the alpha disease, leaves.

Dont take it from me.
If you think me saying onions are basically monsters is fakenews, just watch the documentary below.

That's actually pretty cool. I'm gonna get one.

Think self isolation is sending you all as crazy as me,regarding onions, fried are nice, in cheese sandwiches
are nice. Our dog likes crunching them but makes his legs go wobbly and he kind of collapses.
Only joking, he would eat them given the chance along with raisins and chocolate.
Wish it was the self isolation driving me crazy. But I am still out at work every day.

Guess I have never been the full shilling lol. But can't complain I get paid for going to work and sitting typing on here. Only 1 hour till I am going home.

I concur.

Been self employed and worked from home/beach/bar/nearest forest etc. for years. The pandemic has not changed that.

What it has changed, is the fact that now I feel more normal since others are forced to isolate as well. I've been mentally isolated and living in my own personal (convoluted) matrix for all my life, so this like a new happy normal for me. :p

Just drove to the local park to walk the dog, got stopped by the fuzz on the way out, asking if i lived
locally.was told in no uncertain terms that I am not allowed to drive there, have to walk the dog there
or walk him rounds the streets,He said you have been warned, you will be fined if caught doing it again
with the fines increasing each time.Dont want to get into the argument about the stupidity of the ruling,
think the problem is people sticking the dog in the car as an excuse to go where they want.
The policeman said look at all the people here, yep there were quite a few but all were complying
with social distancing rules.Wasnt in the mood to argue, got a bollocking at the doctors for going to
the surgery after wife had phoned so I have had enough for one day.

Apparently the UK's near the peak, and the 'curve' has been flattened so to speak

How much of that is true is anyone's guess. But the vibes I'm getting is that we'll see businesses and services slowly reintegrated over the next month/ 6 weeks

I guess there are quite many good educated guesses about these things from different experts, just would have to guess who is right :)

These viruses could come with some manual that how they are willing to spread and kill people etc... would be nicer trying to deal with them and make right decisions.

I don't think there is much of a guide on how to curb viruses once they're in full swing, other than to give basic hygiene guidelines, cross your fingers and hope people adhere to some form of social responsibility

As a few are always intent on ruining it for others is why we've had to be grounded like children err sorry I meant 'have a lockdown'

I don't think the Government's made any bones about its denizens dying, it's just that they'd rather protect the NHS, as is their mantra. These measures have always been about keeping figures 'sustainable' and 'flattening the curve'

I mean there's a lot in how they've approached this. With the 3 phrases it speaks volumes how they've arranged it, personally

I have to assume the figures I look at daily are as accurate as possible and using that as a guide I would say.

Over the past week the UK has had 4,000+ new cases on a daily basis (today is no different) so all you can deduce from that at best is that hopefully we are unlikely to see a vast increase on that daily number but at the same time how long that number will stay constant for can only be a guesstimate. (It may have possibly peaked but that peak could stay constant for weeks).

We are supposedly a little way behind Italy and Spain and they are still seeing a high number of new cases daily. IMO if we are still seeing a constant figure of new cases whilst under lockdown how can we even think of easing restrictions? Imagine what these figures could be showing if we were not in lockdown.

From a logical view one fit and healthy person who lives on their own has the virus but has not felt particularly unwell. In lockdown they recover and do not infect anyone else. Out of lockdown they go about their daily tasks not even knowing they have it and possibly pass it to 10 people who the next day all unwittingly pass it to another ten each and so on.

It’s only an example I made up obviously but within a week that one person has now potentially, inadvertently infected over 1,000,000 people. Even at lesser numbers you can see how quickly it would escalate.

If they are going to ease restrictions as and when, they need to take a lot of things into consideration and make sure they get it right and when you don’t fully know what your dealing with that’s hell of a responsibility.

Extra 3 weeks lockdown, which was widely reported yesterday and expected by pretty mucu everyone

Hopefully no longer and we start to see the pressure easing from the NHS.

Another interesting link from that article about testing.

Which mentions this:

'The government bought three-and-a-half million antibody tests, but has not yet found one that is reliable enough to use.'

? How does that work?

Seriously though, this obsession with masks. Yes, they're useful to an extent no doubt, but they've become this symbol for all-encompassing protection and immunity. Yet good luck finding people wearing gloves out & about

Apparently wearing a mask is good, but touching virus-laden....'everything', then handling said virus-ridden masks and whatever else is the done thing
