Would it be possible that something good may come out of this in the end?
We have been lucky not to be involved in a major war in this county for decades and become
more and more complacent over the years, thinking we can do exactly what we
like, when we like with little thought for others and having little respect for authority.
Perhaps this is the boot us the arse we need, may make us realize what society actually is
and how dependant we are on each other and above all remember the sacrifices being made

That is what happened to the 2700 passengers from the Ruby Princess who were allowed to disembark in Sydney. Most of our coronavirus deaths can be traced to 3 sources, of which the Ruby Princess is the main one. An absolute debacle!

I wish I would have with me the photo albums that are stored in my brother's basement as I got a few pics from how it looked before we left. We had a photographer making them so we would never forget how it was.

Would be a great THEN-NOW comparison.

It was a different time. E.g that greenery was well-kept and the trees in the front yard were delicate apple trees which you would need to trim every year. We also had part of the veggie garden there.

Right in front of the fence was my brother's and my chore. Swiping it clean every Saturday afternoon. Clearing the water canal from every little piece of weed etc. My grandma or mum would then inspect it before letting us run into the park to play.

We sold it about 5 years ago and a developer demolished the over 200-years old house and built IIRC 12 houses on the land. Was in my family's hands for over 250 years, that's how far I was able to trace my roots, so could be even longer.

If people can go running why cant the old boy get some fresh air and sun. We need sunlight to survive. He may be high risk but his choice and a walk is exercise for anyone not just the elderly.

Them (and dogs as you say) are the ones that cant do workouts indoors.

The oldest still existing map that was found for the village, roughly 600 years old. The arrow shows roughly the part which later became my family's place. I have no proof that goes further back than 1764. That year there was a big fire in the village, which destroyed most of the registry.

The family tree of both of my parents did not have anyone outside the village up to the point I was able to research. Hence, I can't say whether I have like 1/1024 or something from any other country in my DNA.

I wouldnt have thought there would be any issues with someone taking a seat during their exercise, a lot of people would need breaks between 30 - 45 minutes of walking.
But sunbathing, really? If people start popping out to sunbath in the park, then why not take the drive down to the coast, find a nice spot on the beach and do it there? This is how it escalates out of control, it will start with half a dozen but soon it turns into hundreds then thousands etc, just because they saw someone else do it.
And when it does spiral we end up transporting the virus to more and more places, leave traces of it everywhere we go and we never get it under control.

Just read the story, and its the normal do as I say not as I do attitude.
As she hasnt the decency to resign, Sturgeon has to do the right thing and sack her otherwise people will rightly question her ability to advise the government when she doesnt even follow the basics herself.

All joking aside thats fascinating that you can trace back to the single village as a source. So many family trees have some question marks in them.

Mine has a Great Grandma who was an illegitimate child of a family member believed to have slept with a Lord of a Manor - so it is believed but hard to prove and that trail ends there. I do have a rich military history though on both sides of the family, Army and Navy that i am very proud of.

Has any 1 managed to see a dentist since this Malarkey started?? It’s just my luck to be suffering a toothache for the first time in 35 years during the period of national emergency.
My town has 3 surgeries none which I’m registered with as I didn’t see any reason (until today) their websites state all appointments cancelled and they will only take emergency’s with prior appointments.
I’ve mailed all 3 in the hope one of them will feel sorry for me but I’m not holding out much hope.

Alright everybody. Haven't posted in quite a while. Hope everyone is staying safe and well.

The last month or so has been a tough one for me personally, as it began with my uncle passing away
due to lung cancer. He was diagnosed as terminally ill back in October.
He was buried on the same day that Boris announced the lockdown measures.
So at least my family and I got to pay our respects, say our goodbyes and get "closure".

And yesterday, less than a month after my uncle's passing, I get dealt the next body blow.

I found out my dad, who has also been in hospital since October, has got the coronavirus.
He is 81. Smoked since 14, drank since 16. Not to mention having bad circulation (part of the reason he is in the hospital in the first place).

I've just realised that I am facing the very real possibility that I have already seen him for the last time.

It's a f**king horrible feeling.

What helped me immensely was that my aunt was administrator and record keeper in the church for about 10 years. So every time I went back for holidays I spend a few days going through those huge books. Opened up they would cover an entire table. Each house in the village had its page. Amazing experience.

One funny part was that women's names were very rarely mentioned. E.g. it would say bamber's wife gave birth to their second daughter, named Elizabeth. 20 years later it would be bamber's second daughter married John Smith. Later it would be John Smith's wife, second daughter of bamber & wife gave birth to a son, John.

Now with the high rate for child deaths, it became sometimes really tough to follow the line. Especially, because the first son was always named after the father, and in case he died early, the next son was again named after the father. Took me accumulatively in total months of hours to get the entire tree together but it was worth it.

The first mention of my village is from 1228 or thereabouts, the records of the first part of the fortified castle and church go back to 1240. At the time, the village was called Mons Mellis, translated into English it is Honey Hill.

You can contact your nearest dentist if you arent registered to any and they will presumably refer you to the City emergency dentistry and hopefully they will sort you out. The hospital isnt taking any walk in's so I presume the dentist will give you a reference that you will use when you get to the Hospital.

I bought a tube of this stuff from boots, it's otc but kept with the medicines, haven't used it yet so can't vouch for it's effectiveness.

edit: I mucked that up, this is the one I got, the 20%!

edit2: If you've got some dispersible aspirin, try holding them against the area where the pain is coming from, gum line or the tooth, they'll start to disintegrate so you might need to do a few. It does work, after a while the pain should subside or go. Some of the broken up aspirin will probably get swallowed so only do it if you can tolerate aspirin.

I believe he tested positive on 27 March. He maintained his symptoms were mild but the temperature persisted. Apparently his cough is also bad. If a temperature persists he is at risk of pneumonia .

Allergic to aspirin Nate 3 glasses of bush 1 x bottle of 13.5%red wine and 2x500 mg paracetamol and the bastard is still there so I’m hitting the rest of bush

edit2: If you've got some dispersible aspirin, try holding them against the area where the pain is coming from, gum line or the tooth, they'll start to disintegrate so you might need to do a few. It does work, after a while the pain should subside or go. Some of the broken up aspirin will probably get swallowed so only do it if you can tolerate aspirin.

For toothache is best something that calms the actual nerve down, for example, liquid remedy with a sedative effect like valerian root.

All you would have to do is dip a piece of cotton bad in it and put it next to the tooth.

I've never thought of trying that, I'll give that a go, I just cannot cope with toothache so need as many options as possible

I used clove oil with some success but it can feel like its burning your gums a bit, so then I tried the aspirin and that knocked the pain off for weeks.

We had a case where someone came in, tested positive and needed medical attention. They told us their kids and wife have it too as they have the same type of symptoms but not as bad. We tell their family to stay in doors for 14 days. We do not test them.

That is how inaccurate the numbers you guys are seeing. What you see in the media, we figure you should times it by 8-10 the numbers for positive cases of covid-19 and that will give you more of an idea.

We also feel confident, that 80-85% of people will get over this themselves while the other 15-20% will either need medical intervention and a smaller percent will succumb.

This is from very large data produced across our country from various hospitals.

The reason the government and health officials are giving such dire warnings is because how infectious this is.

We are starting to agree that this is almost as contagious as the common cold and as you all know, that is very contagious. If the numbers are accurate that 20% will need medical intervention, well you can see why governments are scared.

That number if it spreads like a wildfire will crash all health care systems. That is the reason for all these lockdowns and why you hear every single day, stay in your house. Wash your hands. 1 million people get it. Thats 150,000-200,000 people that will need a hospital. Not many countries can handle that. And if it spreads more. 400,000 will need a hospital. And if it spreads more..well you get the idea. It will spread all over if there wasnt government intervention and people werent ordered to stay inside.

You want first hand medical advice from someone who deals with this at the highest levels? Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Stay inside.
