Those are migrant workers of which you have millions in India. They are jobless the soon they stop work and since most companies closed due to the PM's lockdown orders, they have no work and no income and often no place to stay as employers kick them out from the quarters they provide while they work.
So they head back home, or try at least. That pic is from the day when they had 1,000 busses prepared to take them to their villages.
BTW, they earn about $1 / day on average for backbreaking work.

All these fast food and grocery store workers wearing gloves should not be at all. Unless they are changing them after each customer. If they are doing it for only self protection, ok. But to stop the spread, its not good at all. The virus will sit on those gloves and spread every time they scan the food or put it in a bag and then pass it to people. It also makes the person feel like they dont need to wash their hands ever because they are protected by gloves.
Fast food workers need to not wear them at all and need to wash their hands every time they deal with a customer and every 10 or so minutes regardless.
Grocery store is maybe a little different because they cant leave their till every customer but those gloves need to be changed constantly or hand washing constantly. You deal with hundreds of people in a short period of time. Money, debit and credit cards etc. If someone is infected and touched a box of crackers, when the cashier grabs on to that box to scan, it is now on their gloves. When they next customers comes through that virus can go onto the customers items.
So grocery store clerks are wearing gloves for their own protection and not yours. That means its time to be overkill. Aside from washing down yourself after a trip to the store, time to wipe down your groceries when you get them home too. You may not have the same option as me as I am given Sani-cloth germicidal disposable wipes to use for surfaces around me in my home, life and work. Anything with 60% alcohol on it should kill bacteria/viruses. This is why I say stock up so you dont have to go through this often.
That is why it is essential you wash your hands as soon you leave the store and before you get in your car.
I have been hearing some talk that masks are ineffective and even more dangerous. This is incredibly false. They only become dangerous if people touch the mask and then not wash their hands.
Wash your hands before you put it on and wash your hands instantly after you take it off. Try to never touch the front of the mask. That is where everything is. You take your mask off by grabbing the strings and then disposing of it.
Reusing a mask is not a good idea either. If its a cloth one that you made, wash it as soon as you can.
Nothing is overkill at this point. Nothing is paranoia at this point. Its going to take an effort from all of this to stop this.
Some of the CEO's of the hospital have been urging the government to induce a marshal law like scenario on the public. The government is doing as good as they can without doing so but if this isnt contained, this is what it may come to here and the government has openly admitted this to some of our high level team members who work with the CDC and WHO.
I will commend companies for doing their part. Grocery stores not allowing too many people in the stores and force them to line up and as one comes out, one goes in. Tape on the floor showing 6 feet apart. Grocery store clerks forcing to stand back and wait for the person in front of them to load up groceries, pay and leave before they tend to you in any way. Fast food places holding the debit and credit machines for people to use their tap pay so no one is touching anything.
Signs telling people to keep their space, wash their hands and so on.
I notice a lot of Canadians doing their part too. Keeping their spaces, listening, staying away from groups. Not because they like being told what to do but mostly because you can see the fear in peoples faces. You still have those few morons having lawn parties with 10-15 people. Those people should be arrested without question.
This is a forum viewed by hundreds a day maybe thousands and those people have friends and family. So I hope people take me serious for what I am saying in this thread. The word can spread fast and we can all help stop this. Stopping one infection by being smart, can stop hundreds, thousands and maybe some lives.
Because I have fallen slightly ill I will not be deployed at the new test center...yet. My symptoms arent of covid-19 .. but more of a cold. I have no fever at all and no body aches. I have a bit of a cough, a little sore throat and that tiredness and grogginess you get when you have a cold....But even so, the people above me will take every precaution possible. We arent totally overwhelmed with patients where they absolutely need me yet. so I can rest for now and gather back my strength.
cough into your arm. Sneeze into your arm. Not into your hand.
Wash your hands for a good 20-30 seconds. Between the fingers and dont forget about between your thumb and index finger.
Stay inside. Stay away from family and friends outside your house.
No play dates between kids outside of your house.

The problem is that when reporters are told they are asking 'nasty questions' and then shut down, it is very difficult for them to report anything that is not from a government announcement. I am not just referring to Trump here - SloMo is equally guilty of refusing to answer certain questions relating to COVID-19, and I am sure there are other leaders also doing the same thing.
However, what is very disturbing is the violent abuse aimed at anyone of an Asian appearance, due to what is fast becoming a 'Yellow peril rhetoric".

I wonder how they've managed that, the uk figures in comparison are 25,500 cases and 1793 deaths, which is 7%.
It could be we've actually had more cases than this so the 7% is too high, however even if you double the case figures and so have a death rate of 3.5%, it would still nearly be ten times australia's
This is one of the questions I'd like a journalist to ask of the epidemiologists /health experts from the govt or nhs, do they have an idea for why this difference has occurred?

As some of us have explained as have healthworkers, scientists, and microbiologists explained this problem, but it is pointless trying as most people suffer from cognitive dissonance, everyone has some sort of corona in their system right? someone dies of pneumonia today, a flawed test which cannot say nor isolate covid19 and say if you had it or not, will likely return a positive for one of the many many strains of corona, so that person that died of pneumonia now died of covid19, because they had some sort of corona in their system.
I guess this would explain the complete abandonment of all Chinese menus when ordering online yesterday!
And no that's not a joke. Figured it wasn't because of an outbreak in their restaurants, clearly another reason, because a couple of weeks prior we did order.
So OF COURSE, true to form, it could only be the age-old classic reason as to why this could be happening. Our glorious hooligan rationale coming to the fore, attributing blame on anyone of SE Asian appearance!! clever that.
I'd imagine that whilst originating from China, the virus wasn't spread at all by dumb-ass non-Asians at all! That could simply not happen!

Sorry but this is just idiotic. Scaremongering? Zero context? Have you looked at the amount of hospital beds being taken up solely by people with coronvirus and we are nowhere near the peak?
Please explain that to me? Please explain to me why we need 4,000 beds in the excel centre? Please explain to me the need for field hospitals in NI, Scotland, Wales? That is the context that we are in at this moment in time, if this was some overstatement by the establishment why are these people falling ill and taking up beds, forcing the need to possibly destroying the whole economy, forcing the need for ventilators to be sourced anywhere they can get them?
Would a tory government get into so much debt just for a conspiracy theory? Tell me why they are doing that, just explain to me why i have friends in hospital with this, and why i know people who have died in the last week from this? Why could their families not be at their bedside when they passed away?
Please explain all this to me and I will gladly agree that this is all just blown out of all proportion.

Did you not read any of the information posted previously, deaths that have nothing to do with Corona virus are being attributed as having been caused by Covid19, heart attacks, pneumonia, and whatever else, because you have some sort of corona in your system, the 21 year old girl that died of corona? but then did not but in fact it was a heart attack, but the media went silent after.
This could be one of the reasons why hospitals are overrun.
1) Unprecedented infection rate that's filling up the hospitals and taxing the healthcare workers to their limits. This information is totally false. Yeas, the hospitals are filling up, because 80% of the people they're putting into quarantine are not actually infected. They're not testing everyone, and the tests themselves are proving to be 30-40% false positive. And of course the workers are taxed, they're overwhelmed with false cases, they've been scared to death by the media and their Management, and most importantly, the public is so scared they're mobbing the hospitals because they have a cold and think they're "infected".
The CDC themselves posted information on their site saying tests are highly false positive.
I am not trying to downlplay everything I am looking at the information coming out about the death totals and how they are coming to the conclusion that every death was attributed to covid19 when there is a high chance it was not caused by this.
Can you not see the point that the tests do not show you have covid19 merely have some sort of corona in you which most people do?
And those clamouring for a vaccine.

I enjoyed posting here until people post non sensical things, you really like putting words into peoples mouths don't you? at no point did I say vitamin c was the answer to life, I said there was evidence from doctors, and hospitals thats high doses of IV vit c was very successful with no patients having this treatment had died, nowhere did I say it was the answer to life, I just don't want to waste time replying to this kind of mentality, I posted statistics from the ISS in Italy that showed that 99% of deaths where of people older than 80 was it? then the very next post accused me of being happy old people are dying, when I said absolutely no such thing, I just posted what the official goverment of Italy stats were showing.

The numbers coming out are completely inaccurate. They should not even be posted because of how inaccurate they are.
Let me explain how it works.
Some countries test more while most countries send people home without testing unless it's serious. We have doctors here speaking to patients on the phone who are clearly infected but we are telling them to stay at home and self quarantine for 14 days. Nothing is written down and nothing is tracked. This is the case for most countries.
Unless you are very sick, you are told to stay home. Did we do an actual test to confirm? No. So we cannot mark it is a covid-19 case but WE as workers know when a patient calls and says they have a fever, body aches cough etc that its most likely the virus. We are being told by our health minister and CEO's to tell the patients to stay at home as to not overwhelm the system any more.
If we told everyone who had symptoms to come in, our health system would crash in days. Unless it it is serious and you are in real respiratory distress, you are to stay at home. I would say right now we know of 1000 cases (just in our hospital) or more but do not have it "marked down" because a test wasnt done and the guidelines is to only keep track of the ones who are tested. Dozens of people a day who clearly have it are sent home without tests in every hospital in canada.
So you can imagine how inaccurate all the numbers from the media are. I would say quadruple it at minimum. So anyone in here or anywhere who are basing their decisions off the numbers being released by the cdc or media or whoever, understand your decisions are coming from a severely flawed model.
I just had a conference call with our team and they are saying this is 3-5x more contagious than influenza. It is one of the most contagious and aggressive viruses anyone has ever seen. We also have doctor reports out of China and Italy showing some patient reports where 4 weeks after they have recovered, they are still releasing parts of the virus. We dont know what to do with that information yet aside to run our own tests and hope that this isn't the case to re-infect.
We have had 7 new patients in our hospital confirmed yesterday and 4 of those moved into ICU.
And to the people in Canada, the general consensus right now seems this will continue until July. This is what I was told on conference call with our CEO today when I asked "how long is this going to go on for"

That’s my base, the dark parts are the bbq sauce and tomato base. Should your look closely once cooked the same parts will appear burned as coated with said sauce.
