Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

ok, it's been long enough, What is kroffe doing now?:D

He is back to looking in his fridge.

It's ok you don't need to explain yourself to the likes of me. Anyway who actually works in the real world knows full well companies make it impossible to get time off for sick no matter if corona related or other illnesses.

The only ones making it sound easy are either retired or not working as your example is same one we would all face trying to tell work we can not work for whatever reason.

Anyway I'm saying no more on this, least someone other than me is explaining the reality.

and people who actually work know that your employer pays SSP, so who are you talking about having to ring? If your employer keeps you on hold till the next day then walk down there and speak to them.

It's people like you who caused the lockdown by thinking they can just do what the fuck they want and screw anyone they might infect.

As for it only killing old people, so keep over 50's in, how did a 21 year old girl, with no underlying health conditions die today from it? You know absolutely nothing.

Trolling on a thread about something thats killing thousands of people, you must lead such a sad life, get a grip man.

All good on this front. Quarantined with the missus, body's noodlifying due to gym closure, facial hair well advanced, off from work, pay on hiatus, cat's just puked in the hallway & I haven't even washed my nutsack today.

#Livingthedream
Ah the boredom of self isolation Goaty.
Did you know that if you rested one of your nutsacks on the top of an empty beer bottle and hold a flame on the base eventually your nutsack will get sucked inside?

If you did know this and know how to get it out PM me ASAP
TYIA

Please stop, you're so out your depth. Try making that call? go on and you still be on hold this time tomorrow morning.

I tried calling my bank the last 3 days and still not been able to get through, do you really think it's that easy to claim or get what you want instantly. Boris himself as admitted the system is overwhelmed with new claims right now.

:D

Haha!
On the way back from the pharmacy the other evening the takeaways where packed with the staff and owners, no masks or gloves.. not a chance in hell I’d order from any of these places. I probably won’t again once this is over. Hygiene isn’t a strong point from some cultures at the best of times.

I don't trust such places too, I know some butchers shop where they don't throw anything away. And even if the meat is gone, they simply bring it to chicken and kebab shop which is next door as the owner of both shops is the same person. :puke:

So will try and phone the doctor tomorrow and or maybe go to the assessment place, but if it's lined up for 3 hours then forget it. So if I have to use my days for the next week and a bit it will give me a full pay almost so that will be in 2 weeks, so good for a month maybe, It's next month I am stressed out about depending on how this goes of course and stressed of not knowing and dealing with the workplace.

Maybe do a deposit and try to hit a wildline for kroffe.;)

Interesting research by the University of Oxford

Tonights briefing gave me more room for optimism and it gives me more reason to premuse that I have had it for at least the last 6 days.
After feilding the question of if 50% of the population has already been infected with the virus they stated it was too early to conclude so.Then it must be presumed that we are at least close to that figure.
Do the maths

Thought that myself, that said they drip feed what they ‘think’ we require to hear, or can take in.
I personally reckon in 4 weeks reality will start to creep back, normal life may start to get back to normal.
That said I erect steel poles for a living so don’t take it as gospel.

Someone made a couple of posts on another forum, an interesting point is made.

I actually DO have an Engineering degree from a well-known, really great University. I have had Probability & Statistics. In the very first chapter of the textbook we worked on examples associated with pandemics, epidemics and the spread of diseases. Other chapters showed how "data bias" can skew results and misrepresent the data, which is exactly what happened in this case at the WHO.

They were only testing people who looked sick, and so they got a really high infection rate and death rate, and then they applied this biased number across the entire population, when 99% of the healthy population wasn't sick. That's where the faulty infection rate came from, and that's where the faulty death rate came from, and because of bad numbers they shutdown the world. Even a person with an IQ over 90 and who does not believe in conspiracies should be able to understand that.

This is why I have been telling everyone since day 1 that something was wrong with the numbers, and that there should never have been a global pandemic. The number of affected people never reached the level that's needed to declare one. It's 25x below the infection rate of the flu, and it's 10x below the death rate of the flu. The whole scam is right there in black and white in numbers.

Ahhh...this explains everything there. I said in another post that I have a background in applied mathematics. From the very beginning of the WHO announcing the infection and death rates, I knew their numbers were off, but I didn't quite know how, or what they had done to screw them up. They just did not correlate when applied against what we know about flu statistics going back decades. So, we have two Doctors from Stanford Medical Center who have cleared that major mistake up.

Then, I was looking at the numbers coming out of Italy, and I was just not buying all the made up reasons about more elderly and poor people living there and people living closer together. I have travelled to Italy many times and that just didn't make sense. It makes perfect sense now, because this is exactly what happened with the Swine Flu hoax in 2009, they were calling everyone who went to the hospital or Doctor with flu symptoms Swine Flu victims without testing anyone. And as it turns out, now after the fact, hardly anyone actually had Swine Flu.

I've always thought the figures were wrong, how can they know the mortality rate if they aren't testing everyone. If they only test people in hospital, then the percentage will be much higher than it would be if the whole country got tested.
That said, the infection rate does seem much higher than normal flu, as does the mortality rate. Plus there are other factors to consider when considering how dangerous a disease is, like if we have built up a natural immunisation against it.

Hi all hope everybody is ok. I been really down iam self isolated with the wife for 2 weeks now. Except to the store, and take dog for a walk. Even the parks in Georgina ontario are gated, then find out my mom who has alzheimers, her home in markham ontario. One resident positive for covid 19, now 2 psw workers ,test positive. Can't even see her. She as to eat her meals in her room that is when it really hit me my mom by herself. Life sucks the bag . And when people don't listen or take this shit seriously. I want to punch there face in. People are dying..sorry for the rant.

Over 90 iq and not believing in conspiracy theories would make people understand eh?
And in the next breath calling the swine flu a hoax.

Well guys.. that’s it!.. a global pandemic is now solved.
This genius replying to our Col knows it all!.. the intellect must be mind boggling..
It’s all clear now, those with degrees and masters in medicine know shit...
this absolute beauty we have here has solved the global pandemic...
I’ve never seen such greatness...
On that note I’m off to warm up mega unhealthy food and get a pint of juice.

He made another follow up to the post, feel free to post more ad-hominem replies.

The entire WHO list of statistics was based on testing only sick people. Since the majority of people, the people who were not sick, were not included within their statistical analysis, it renders all of their analysis invalid. In other words, the infection rate and death rate are magnitudes less than what we were told. Instead of the death rate being 4%, it's actually around 0.1%

The global numbers include the Italy statistics, and now it turns out that Italy was calling every sick person a covid victim and every person who died from a virus a covid death, so the global statistics are also completely false. All of the numbers coming out of Italy are off by 50-88%.

The reason bodies are piling up everywhere in hospitals in Italy is not because so many people are sick that people are dropping like flies and filling up the hospitals. It's because all these deaths were listed as Covid even tho most of them were not, and no one wants to touch a dead Covid body, not even health workers.

Apologies guys, it’s trumps fault for the delay.
What we have here is a ‘parmo’ a Middlesbrough delicacy. Deep fried chicken breast with bechamel sauce and breadcrumbed. Topped with cheese.
Served with fried potatoes and onion rings.
A bit of salad because I’m a healthy mofo.
Also garlic and chilli sauce.
3500 calories of goodness.
Oh and some Ribena.

Where's nutnut when you need him to play with Playford, lol.:p
He’s already called my fine cuisine ‘burned’ in the past.
He can’t cause no further upset bless him, he’s probably looking under the cushions in his flat as present for enough for a £5 deposit on William hill to play bonanza on £4 a spin.
He’s a superb fellow.

When compared ounce for ounce, potato skin has more nutrients than the rest of the potato. Potato skin contains B vitamins, vitamin C, iron, calcium, potassium and other nutrients. Potato skin also provides lots of fiber, about 2 grams per ounce. If you eat a medium baked potato, including the skin, you'll get nearly 4 grams of fiber, 2 milligrams of iron and 926 grams of potassium. Be sure to wash the potato well and remove any obvious blemishes before cooking.

The skin is the best part!

Yes. There are no “cures” for viral infections. Any virus.

Like people thinking hand sanitizer is 100% effective. There is nothing that will 100 percent kill bacteria, You still have bacteria on your hands and surfaces even after washing, good thought at this hour for everyone, lol. :P. Also if your the type that gets freaked out about that, Don't ever have a blue light. :)

There is a difference between the Case Fatality Rate and mortality rate, which is basically the infection fatality rate (IFR). Both are still fluctuating right now because it's an ongoing event and due to the fact we don't/can't test everybody we will only know after the event by extrapolating (I hope that's a correct English term) the numbers.

CFR = all closed cases (both recoverees and deaths) / number of cases
IFR = number of people who died due to COVID-19 / number of cases

Then there's the global mortality rate, which is the global population / everyone who died. That's when we'll know how much more people have died this year compared to previous years. It doesn't have to be global but just on a national scale is fine too ;)
