Corona virus - Covid 19 discussion

Just thinking about this, what if somebody has a pcr test on the 1st november, the result comes back positive but they have no symptoms, and then on the 15th november they catch flu and die from it a week later [bearing in mind we are now in flu season] it's counted as a covid death?

Correct it is a Covid death then.

You get a positive test and die within 28 days and you are registered as a Covid death no matter what kills you.

something is happening with the links today, they are not standing out as different from normal text [in appearance]

I know how you feel Mack. I experience similar things daily. But in my case, it's usually solved by having a drink. Disclaimer: It might not work for everyone.

Yes, there's still so much we don't know. But I think the virus would result in various illnesses or exacerbate existing illnesses that could cause death. For instance, people didn't actually die from the AIDS virus but from illnesses that emerged due to their weakened immune systems.

Look at this absolute tosh from our so called "experts" lol

The WHO has already confirmed an infection fatality rate of 0.23%, you couldn't make this stuff up.

I've read this 0.23% in a couple of places, I think you know which ones I'm on about ;) Care to give an official press release by the WHO which backs this up?

I am largely avoiding posting in contentious threads after my ban because I do not want to continue being part of the problem but I want to post this.

Seen this col, she’s a smart lady not to mention utterly stunning.

that aside she’s talking sense and totally agree

this isn’t the first time btw she’s spoken up about this farcical nonsense, certainly a lady with balls..

more power to her.

I suspect that she has those balls botoxed :)

its inevitable now really, they fked up the t&t and ignored the scientists for weeks, now we'll get another 6 weeks of lockdown cos they delayed having a 2 week one when it was recommended.

It will be harder to ignore if all shops and pubs and leisure venues are shut. I huess the idea is to have nowhere to go.
Yeah I get what your saying.

going out for a pint or a bite to eat isn’t a big deal, can miss that no issues at all.

I was meaning family and Xmas, my family live away and travel up once a year.

We already said we are happy to and will be meeting still, many are older and they don’t want to hide away, they don’t want to not see my little girl (possibly for the last time) some are over @Borgie

I get many won’t like this stance, but hey we all have a choice.

i just personally don’t think the measures justify the means, as said many older family (old school war) folks don’t want to see there last days out hidden away.

And that is there right, so I will be and am accommodating them.

Saying stuff like that just makes you sound racist.

And you're the one that mentioned it i just wondered why as it has literally nothing to do with anything being discussed here.

Oh my good god. After seeing that I could eat a scabby horse twixed between two mattresses :P

Internal government predictions show that without immediate action the NHS will be unable to take any patients by Christmas week. That's any patients. At all.

Project Fear? Fake News?

Think about how those childish cat-calls panned out with Brexit......

This is why 'getting on with life as normal for those who want to' just doesn't work, and it's also why you can't separate the economy from health.

In all likelihood they've left it too late already. Winter is going to be very grim.

A decent read here.

The pandemic has not been easy anywhere. But as the citizens of the West brace for a winter largely confined to their homes, retirees in

are outliers in how badly they have managed the pandemic, managing to sacrifice public health and tank their economies to an extent that may affect the global balance of power for our lifetimes.

The pandemic response has been politicised and captured by tiresome culture warriors, while restrictions are blamed for economic damage that is an inevitable as long as coronavirus roams. Contain it, and normality returns. There is no normal economy with a virus that kills and debilitates the human beings that make it up.

---------------

This exceptionalism often took the form of the “it only kills the sick and the old” mantra. This is false: one in 10 people under 50 suffer enduring damage from the virus and it has always killed randomly. It’s also cruel: it treats the lives of any happy retiree, any mother of four with ovarian cancer, any young man with cystic fibrosis as disposable.

Its iteration in policy is deciding not to eliminate the virus while telling the vulnerable to cocoon, which means confining about a third of the population to indefinite house arrest, a weird flex by the governments of the world’s oldest and sickest populations, who rely on the votes of those people to stay in power.

This false separation of the strong and the weak also misunderstands society. People share accommodation. Grandmothers raise children. And people at risk of death from the virus are the very same who run our healthcare systems.

So it's a four week lockdown, that may or may not save the NHS from being completely overwhelmed coming into winter, and with two months to go before Brexit, which may yet be a No Deal Brexit.

The economic damage will be massive, and this is BEFORE the already certain economic damage that Brexit will inflict, with or without a deal, will add on top.

Good job Boris, I wish for everyone's sake you'd have to stuck to fucking Have I Got News For You and writing lying columns for The Telegraph.

Cummings isn't looking like such a genius now either, is he?

I am beyond angry tonight, history will judge those criminally negligent Tory fools very harshly, and hopefully they will find themselves in prison when this madness is over! I say that as I lifelong Tory voter before this yar.
madness isn’t it.. when the nhs is overwhelmed and the silly nightingales are used then come back to me..

they where not the first time and won’t be again..

thankfully i found work where I’m classed as a key worker, but I feel for all the other poor sods without a hope and I know loads with kids and families to provide for...

I don't what this Naomi O'Leary woman is saying, the US Q3 GDP number came out 2 days ago. The left MSM was so upset. It was priceless watching CNN.

Notice the CNN chyron (That banner at the lower 1/3).

Much as I agree with the lockdown, the country is now going to be financially fucked for my lifetime, been no mention of how all the money is going to be repaid, that delight awaits us.
Bad decisions from day 1 have caused all this, slow to act, ignoring the advice from the experts, ignoring
what was happenning in other countries and the stupidist thing about this lockdown is keeping the uni,s and schools open when their own charts show that its the young that are causing most of this second spike.
They have been wasting time pissing around with stupid confusing tiers when anyone could see we had to
lockdown

(Not so) Fun fact: the UK has more CV19 cases per million than Trumps America.

You know, I'm starting to think electing Boris Johnson based on a three word slogan and a fictional ready meal might have been a bad idea, if only someone had said something.

whats happening is unprecedented.

this hasn’t happened before, ever in the civilised world.

you can’t blame the government for the Chinese virus.

granted and in hindsight they could of done better, but it’s easy to be critical after the horse has bolted and we are starting to see the facts.

sadly rather than being a help, true to form the labour dumb dumbs have been playing politics, whilst the last leader of the party is entrenched in the biggest official racism scandal since the BMP.. let that sink in

I’m not saying Boris and co done great, voted tory all my life.

but damned if they do, damned if they don’t springs to mind.

its easy being labour right now.

They are massively to blame you must live in some kind of warped reality to not see that and still be blaming labour.
Where did i blame labour? Can you point me to this please...

also yes of course they are to blame as they run the country so therefor accountable.

look across the west, it’s a pretty similar picture.

what I’m saying is which must of eluded you is that this isn’t normal, every move they make is under the mic, it’s new territory for all..

yes things could have been done differently, but again as said that’s with the benefit of hindsight, isn’t that a beautiful thing..
