Coming Up... Full Online Gambling In Delware By Halloween...

It will be interesting to see what games they offer. Could be a preview for New Jersey, which now plans to be on-line by November 26.

I'm a slot player. To me poker is poker, roulette and most table games should be pretty much the same across whatever gaming platform they choose. Slots are where the real variety is. 888 Holdings, from what I can see, has a nice selection of games.

Next stop, every other state because soon they will see how lucrative this will be.

Very nice article!

Hah! Ever lived in Alabama? Lottery in full swing in Georgia to our East adding millions to that state's coffers (and their schools!), real (MGM, Caesar's, etc.) land based casinos in Mississippi to our West earning millions for good highways, jobs where otherwise there are none.... but Alabama? Naaah... gambling is eeeee-villle ya see....

Good luck to those who are allowed to spend their $25 the way they see fit....

Might be time to load up the truck and move to Beverly...Hills that is! Sorry, couldn't help it. Come to New Jersey, we would love to have you and anyone can fit in here. We got it all; beaches, mountains, casinos, jobs, smog, floods, hurricanes and we probably even have the Largest Governor in the Country!

Texas will undoubtedly be a holdout

They still haven't even been able to get machines installed at the race tracks here. There have been numerous efforts to turn the tracks into "Racinos" but evidently, nobody has successfully come up with enough bribes for the right legislators to make it happen.

Since they are just about a week away from going live thought I'd give this a bump.

I'm not sure how lucrative it really is going to be from an operators standpoint, specifically in Delaware. The state itself is quite small and a population of roughly 1 million or so people. Will the players be flocking to get their fix of slots online rather than going to the casinos. I've previewed the list of slots that will be available when they launch and I simply don't see the appeal. The list is very limited and such titles as: The Royals Go Camping, a British themed slot, will likely have very little appeal to an American player.

Payouts are going to suck. From an article I read, "The State Lottery will take their usual cut of gaming revenues – 43.5% on slots and 34% on table games, including poker." With the state taking that huge of a cut the operators will have no choice but to offer lousy rtp's comparable to a brick and mortar casino. So the advantage of playing online to get better payouts won't be there. Also don't forget as the player any win you receive over $1,199 is going to be taxed. The only benefits I see from a players standpoint is you will be getting regulated games, the state will hold the funds, and it should be easy to get money on and off the sites in a timely manner.

Oh and LOL at the new player deposit bonus its 100% up to $100 but you have to release $10 at a time throughout your play. Sounds decent right? Well you earn status points at a rate of 1 point for every $16 coin in so to release all $100 you need 16k coin through. That would be comparable to them just giving you the $100 on top of your deposit and attaching a 80x wr on it. I have to wonder where is the incentives to get players on the sites. With the state taking a huge cut and lousy player comps and bonuses there isnt any incentive for players to jump on board.

From the poker side of things: I don't foresee a online poker boom in a market like Delaware with its small population. If other states jump on board and eventually people in every state can play together than things will be good again but since you have to be physically in these states that its legal to play it really cuts down on the available player pool for games to thrive. I can't wait for online poker to be legalized again but it has to be done right.

I appreciate the effort set forth by Delaware to get the ball rolling for the online gaming market and open it up to bigger and better things but in the short term this has fail written all over it before the games even go live.

Looking for a ka-boom but....

Delaware is coming in with a whimper.

They started up full on-line gaming today alright but only for a select number of players, a test group. Probably for the best but it would have been nice if they said that beforehand. Seems they are afraid of a botched roll-out of a new web-site (I can sympathize with them).

About a week or so they are supposed to be going strong. When they start-up I will take a ride down there, find myself a Starbucks or something like that and check it out. Hopefully I will come back with one of the first screenies to post.
