A couple of days ago, I won a (to me) lot of money, playing blackjack and a bit of slots, but primarily blackjack. I had read a card counting guide on betsson, which inspired me to play there. In this guide, they state that you are free to count cards in the online live casino, and explicitly write that they do not consider it cheating.

The next day, my account was locked. I contact support, and they said they can see that it is locked, but they do not know why. I went back to the article again and they had now deleted it, here is the link:

This makes me paranoid that they're going to try to retroactively change their rules, and accuse me of card counting as an excuse to confiscate my funds. Because this article was uploaded 6 months ago, and stayed up every day, until the day my account was locked which is when they deleted the article.

Anyhow, this could all be coincidence, and my account may have been locked for a different reason, which is why I turned to casinomeister. When I had trouble with videoslots support in the past, their rep were great and helped me out on numerous occasions. Does Betsson have a rep here on casinomeister? If so, could anybody tag them/refer me to them so that I can tag them? Thanks!

One of the reasons you are free to count cards on online live casino is that the exposure to a high true count is minimal due to the frequent cutting of decks.

It's possible you ran awry of some interestingly worded term but it is spicy that the article got deleted shortly after.

Betsson are quite far the to the left of the GOOD<------>SCAM spectrum so I do hope you get a good resolution!

Yeah, I kind of noticed this as I continued playing, I don't even know if it's profitable in the long run online for this reason. The reason I'm even up on betsson at all is a double-down bet where i won €2000 on a single hand, if not for that i would be down about €400. Since then lost a bunch of money on bet365, 10bet etc, and am now basically back to 0 as far as card counting goes. I do think it's worth it if you've got some sort of deposit bonus though, because I do think you can at the very least negate most of the house edge. Unfortunately for me, though, Sweden has banned redeposit bonuses altogether.

With bonuses involved, depending on what terms they have they might have rules against using certain strategies / not playing for fun but profit. Additionally most bonus terms bring BJ contribution down to 10%.

My account was just closed. Customer support confirming that they're stealing all the money in my account. Not just the net winnings, which would've been a scam in itself, but also my deposits, they stole all of it.

I have gambled regularly for nearly half my life (from age 18 to 33) and I have never ever encountered anything this grimy before. They literally have a guide on their official website where they clearly state that card counting is allowed, that they do NOT consider it cheating, and that you can do it at the live casino. They then delete that page AFTER i won the money, in order to steal all of it.

I am literally shaking right now. I cannot afford to pay my rent in 10 days without having to borrow from relatives. "Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose" isn't even applicable here, I did not lose it. The last €1k were obviously reserved for rent.

And for the record, they do not have any rule against card counting either. The rule they're citing is "7.12 You may not engage in fraud, cheating or other illegal activities", which is extra ironic, because keeping track of cards is obviously not illegal nor fraud, so that just leaves cheating, which they, again, EXPLICITLY SAID on their official website that they do not consider it.

Just to add to how blatantly scammy this is: That hyperlink titled "live casino"? It leads DIRECTLY to betsson's live casino. So they have a cardcounting guide where they approve of cardcounting, and direct you directly to their live casino. If you follow the guide & the link to their casino, and win, they simply take your money.

Anyway, this is the first time I have ever been scammed by a gambling site. I would be super-appreciative if somebody else who's been through this could offer me some advice? I will never ever give up on getting my money that they stole, even if it means taking them to court. But I would like to exhaust all other options first. Would my first best bet be to request a here on casinomeister? If not, what?

Thanks in advance.

As it's an accredited casino first action should be to do a PAB and let Max deal with it. If as you say you've done nothing wrong them would Imagine the PAB would have a good chance of success.

Alright, I will try it, thank you.
Just remember tho once you do the PAB not to answer anything in this thread or post about it till the PAB is complete.

As it's an active Rep I would imagine it would get done pretty quick. Max will get all the Info etc. And the reasons why casino acted like they did. If he agrees with you then the casino should pay out.

Alright, thanks. So as long as I do not post in the thread going forward, I'm free to submit the pab now? I just read the rules and felt unsure when I saw this:

  1. the complaint issue is posted on the forums, either just before or shortly after the PAB was submitted.

Yeah you can submit the PAB now. Many PAB'S don't get submitted till after posts in a thread telling the OP to submit a PAB.

It's once you submit the PAB not to post anymore. You can still post in the forum just nothing that concerns the PAB.

And good luck hope it all goes well.

Just utterly amazing that casinos can decide to take peoples money whenever they feel like it.
That's a pretty damn vile decision, from a company who went out of their way to add a link on their blog that sends you to their OWN casino after saying it's OK to count cards on the blog, and then to steal your money if you fall for the bait.

Unreal.

Hi @xexe,

Yes, we added that for the people who start a thread on the forum minutes before submitting a PAB -- obviously intentionally trying to circumvent our no-posting request.

But this thread was started on the weekend and, as @paul7388 said, you were subsequently pointed towards our PAB service. So as long as you don't post here while your PAB is active, you're fine.

Update: I was going to close this thread now as I was paid back in full all the money I was owed by betsson just minutes ago. However, I cannot find any delete button, so I'm just letting everybody know that I am happy to announce that I got it all back!
Glad you got it sorted and paid.

Think it's only staff that can close the thread.
