Changing RTP on slots, altering reel-strip instead pay-table, IMO, is unfair

I always want to have a discuss on this issue, and want to know what fellow members think of it.
IMO, Changing RTP on slots should be done by altering pay-table instead of altering reel-strip.

Please let me know what you think?

thank you

You don't need to do either. Simply adjust the pool of values the RNG picks from if an online slot. This can be achieved by changing one line of master coding.

No, variance won't be affected as the program would skim values pro-rata, so variance would be exactly the same. Variance would only be affected if you reduced RTP by taking out high values only, or a disproportionate amount of small values to go the other way.

Don't see that it matters either way; unless you are EXTREMELY observant, it's unlikely you would notice.
What we need is for ALL softwares to be forced to state the T-RTP of each game at each casino in a highly visible place; ideally on the actual play-screen, if not, then clearly on the paytable.

That only applies if you believe that all online slots work that way.
Many people (including me) do not and I would appreciate it if you would stop stating your opinion as if it were a fact - unless you are going to provide the indisputable evidence to support your theory.

Agreed, TRTP should be stated for the benefit of players.

As for my opinion, I merely express that from a computing point of view as it's logical and how other programmes are made. Slots programmes are far simpler than many think. I believe there is strong evidence to support my view, expressed by myself and others especially observations on several softwares concerning pseudo reel spins and graphics along with prior balance amounts which backs up my idea. Agreed, it's not conclusive and apologies if I sound too certain. I'll say I think the argument and observations thus far are at least 60-40 in my favour but could change.
I suppose an analogy would be this very webpage. If we looked at the html at the top we could change the whole size and appearance by adjusting one or two lines, rather than every single margin and frame. I see no logical reason why this wouldn't apply to programme code too. The whole truth will out one day...:)

Some online slots don't work that way.
With RTG for example, you can easily spot the TRTP just by looking at the reels on Fruit Frenzy or the Keno pay table.

What i am thinking of RTP is that there are some laws apply to it. So casino operator cannot change it without special permission by gaming authority. It would totally be against the law to. In Australia all slots machine cannot be changed by any operator in casino and pub. It is only can be done by special permission to get authority to come to do so. If you change the RTP without special permission there is a very heavy penalty fined for it if found guilty in court. So you gotta be aware there is law applies to the RTP in gaming device. Also when changing RTP you need to test the machine with thousands of spin to ensure it match the RTP at the end before save the RTP settings, that's another problem. If it does not match then you must change back to previous setting of RTP. By law in Australia RTP must be at 87.5%. Online will be totally different of course depends where casino form from what country they are based on.

thanks KK, I always think when the reel strip is changed, the rate of triggering bonus is changed too. Hence, chance of big wins is changed.

Back to those days I still play RTG slots. I normally had a bankroll of 1000 and spin at $5. Hitting bonus rounds or not were important. I could tell the difference.
