Just opened an account at CentreBet then tried to deposit using a UK Debit Card.

On the deposit screen I noticed a 1% admin charge had been automatically added, but further down on the page it says that this charge won't be implemented for debit cards.

Strike 1: Wrong!

So onto online chat.

According to the guy I spoke to appparently the onus is on me and me alone to contact customer support and sort it out. He simply wasn't interested in trying to resolve anything. No apologies or anything...just...contact customer support.

Pardon?
Strike 2: Useless!

How could something so blatantly obvious have slipped through their net? And where did they get their online support staff...the local bus stop?

I can't be bothered putting up with shit like this anymore. I took it for long enough but not again. And no, I didn't contact their rep here...if one even exists. If they can't get it right at the beginning then I dread to think what will happen later on. I will not be playing there again and my feelings towards this casino are not of the fluffy bunny type.

Strike 3: What a load of cowboys!!!

:confused::confused: Isn't that what you were doing:confused:

I have not even seen this for CREDIT cards outside of the holiday industry, and only BAILIFFS are known to charge for debit cards, and it is a fixed fee of around 1 (BBC "Bailiffs" series).

I wonder what they charge for WITHDRAWALS as well, 1, 1%, 2%!!:what:

I've used Centrebet regularly with a Maestro card and never had the charge applied. maybe it is only some cards that get charged? I will have to keep an eye on it in the future.

Just a heads up that I found out today that the forum rep has moved on - but another guy has taken his place. He should accessing the account and responding sometime today.

Apologies for neglecting this thread - I have been a little busy. :)

Nothing at all since a PM on the 21st advising me that CentreBet was going to look into this.

I make loads of deposits into Centrebet using my visa delta debit card and the fees are never charged. (they do appear in brackets on the site but are not charged to my account).

That is what happened on the deposit screen I was using. It is possible that, as you say, the fee which showed would never have been charged. However I simply did not want to take that risk, hence my attempt at contacting support.

And now of course, I will never find out.....due to the silence of the lambs from CentreBet.

I have just tried them out, and initially the Casinomeister code didn't work. I E-mailed support and got a reply within a couple of hours.
Looks like the problem is down to the rep here moving on and not passing the caseload on to the new rep (if one is in place yet).

I did not see any signs of charging for Neteller, so I went ahead and used this. Perhaps the charge is an advisory note, and not charged unless necessary. When (if!) I get to withdraw, I will see how efficient they are, and whether they charge fees for Neteller.

Being UK regulated, they are a member of the IBAS scheme, which is similar to eCogra, but applies to sportsbooks, and combination sites. Naturally, they are also a member of the Casinomeister dispute resolution scheme, the lack of a current rep does not affect this.

The casino cashier is nothing like a normal MG one, it links into the sportsbook, and deposits, withdrawals, and bonus codes are handled here.

It definately says it wont be charged for debit cards, and says they "reserve the right to charge" for credit cards.
I have grabbed a screenshot of the deposit screen which shows this.

Apologies for the late response. As Casinomeister stated I had some problems logging into my account hence the delay.

My name is Danny and I hold the position of Centrebet Casino Manager and as such am keen to ensure all customer complaints regarding the Casino are dealt with appropriately.

I would like to apologise for the problems which loganberry encountered. While the fee is calculated on screen if you used a Debit Card to make a deposit then you will not have been charged a fee for the transaction. This is stated on our website within the sites Deposit pages.

loganberry could you please pm me with your Centrebet username details so that I can further investigate wether or not you were charged. If so it would have been in error.

With your details I will also be able to view our customer service records and will ensure our Support Staff member who spoke to you is questioned and given further training if necessary.

We have never experienced a problem like this previously which may have contributed to your unsatisfactory response. I will ensure our Online Support team are informed of your issue so that in future they will be answer any future queries with the appropriate response.

Regards

Danny

Confusion Reigns

Apologies:oops:
I seem to have confused casinos, it is CANBET that I tried out, not CENTREbet.
I'll have to take a look at Centrebet and see what their charging policy is for Neteller.

'the 1% fee calculated above will not be charged on Debit Card transactions'

I'm beginning to think I definitely misunderstood this...I didn't realise that the charge would always be calculated but just not applied to Debit Card transactions.....Double :oops:

To Center-Wise....Thanks very much for your response. However my card did not get charged as I abandoned the transaction, and for the time being I am not going to bother to attempt to rejoin CentreBet. Not just because of once bitten twice shy, but I am at the point of totally rethinking my gambling strategy. For me the fun is fast going, so it may be time to take a break.

But thanks anyway for your consideration.
