So, kitty has quite the little problem. From the looks, he lost his dew claw - though not quite certain honestly....could be a cut. Not sure what happened, possibly a cat fight, the hedges, who knows.
Maybe cat owners can chirp in.
Seems the method of treatment, as it's a common injury if the dew claw, is to clean it in salt water (did that) and I've cleaned it with polysporin. I'm a bit clawed to piss from that, but will keep an eye on it.
I'm not qite ready to run to the vet and the goal is to watch it, keep it free of infection. I'm not insenstive to him but he doesnt seem to be in pain and lets me wash it and not gunning to spend $$500 for what may be a home solution.
