Casumo - upload a selfie

So apparently my GF account was not verified until a withdrawal was asked for(shock!). Anyway they asked for bank statements and driving license which is fine and usually all casinos accept that fine. They did with my account but Casumo want a "selfie" picture along side the driving license.

Now here is what bugs me, my GF is asian, I am no liberal or left or scream the racism card easy but I found it highl suspicious because she doesn't have a british sounding name and her photo on her driving license is of a asian background they want a selfie to compare it with. How the hell does that verify who she is, are they suggesting it could be a fake driving license?

I've noticed she has faced way more scrutiny from other casinos than me when verifying the accounts but asking for a selfie is just one massive piss take and actually insulting.

Is this a normal procedure as I have never ever been asked to take a photo of myself???

If it got picked up as fraudulant later the first thing the authorities would question is why didn’t you check this further. Unfortunately that how due suspicion/money laundering checks work.

She is not the only one. I also at Casumo (long ago) and recently at Funcasino and N1casino

I've done the selfie angle a couple of times now, though completely spazzy I don't particularly care so long as it leads to verification.

If they want to adorn their offices with my likeness, then so be it. Being half-Iranian has never led the cops to my home.

....or has it?

Weeooo weeeoo

:eek::axeman:

I have been asked for a selfie. I find it easy and completely within reason.

Within reason, yeah right! Not all of us have good enough camera phones to take a clear picture of a passport or the right lighting. I'll probably need to get it taken professionally somewhere. So I should send neteller the bill

Its ridiculous overkill unless it involves large deposits etc.., but sounds like they do it a lot. You could be right the asian name may have triggered it however don't let them win, do the selfie and then its done. BTW I would feel exactly the same way you do, but the good thing is she won and they now owe her money.

Ive had a few places ask for, or suggest sending a selfie while holding onto say, my birth certificate. (i dont have any other photo i.d so this tends to come up as an alternative). God knows what they think at the other end as I hate my photo taking at the best of times and find myself very unphotogenic lol not that it matters - aslong as i got my account verified i didnt mind. :)

It was a massive withdrawal of '£38!! Apparently her losing hundreds before hand didn't require a selfie only when she wanted to withdraw. How about before you deposit taking a selfie....of course not as everyone would bigger off elsewhere.

I've withdrawn hundreds on mine not asked for single selfie ever. It's down right blatant picking out the foreigners. Not overly offended but white fraudsters do exist too!

To be fair to them, I can see how £38 might trigger suspicion

I'm sure some of these casinos must do it just to wind us up, talk about taking the f**kin biscuit. The fairer sex are more self conscious about strangers peering over their photos, so quite understand if the GF is reluctant. maybe ask if you can have the ID validated through the casumo rep on here rather than by an unknown person [Im assuming there is a casumo rep]

You using same ip-address? That have been trigger it for some (don't know though how that would help to proof that one is not using both accounts to get bonuses twice...). Also if your playing/deposit pattern is very similar, they might suspect that you use both accounts but still as above, if you haven't use any same payment methods but both own ones and they got her verified (which suggest that it's not photoshopped fake ID), it's hard to understand what they can proof with that.

Verification is sometimes pain in somewhere, but suggest that you just take picture from your GF holding her ID and problem solved. If they have asked it, you don't get around it without sending it (in 99% of cases)
