Sorry need to rant a little!

I’ve been a member of Casumo since their launch and always had a good relationship with them, it’s one of my fav casinos.

But received an email this evening just after my last widthdrawal (no issues with that gone through fine)

Email states:

“As you have an old UK account, we have now closed this one down so you can open a new one correct for your market (which includes £). You can use the same email address when signing up, but you will need to come up with a new cool username.”

Those that know Casumo know that you go on an adventure levelling up and gaining achievements, which in return get you free spins, achievements, bonuses etc. So this closure means I lose all of that , I did reply to CS bit they confirmed it carnt be transferred.

“Unfortunately, we can't transfer these features to a new account and you would have to start from level 1. We deeply apologize for this inconveniece and hope for your understanding in the matter.”

So that’s it all the years levelling up gone/wasted. I know in the bigger picture it’s not a massive issue, just annoyed that there was no notice or really an explanation of why it had to be done? Left me feeling that the love was just one way.

Sorry for the rant.

Ah, I see. Odd they let you have a Euro account in the first place.

Ask for a bonus for the inconvenience!

Goes back to the time when Casumo offered EUR only as account currency. All UK players have to change it to GBP, and in general, the only way you can do that with casino accounts is by opening a new account.

Pretty sure redbet was the same when i first joined them - only EUR but then one day i logged in and it was GBP: no new a/c needed ;)

I don't get that. Ages ago I asked for my account to be converted from Euro to Sterling to save on the currency conversion fees and they said no can do.

Surely it is as simple as updating a few database fields to make it the correct currency?

@CasumoLouis - care to comment?

As I said, "in general". :)

Did you get to keep your achievements e.g. on IR, TSII? Because in the background it might have still been a new account.

I had both cases, opening a new account and changing the currency of the current one. What I do know from one case is that it is not straightforward and easy to change. I had most of my accounts in AUD and had to convert them all (well, those I wanted to keep) because no one was accepting the currency anymore.

Mostly though they ask to open a new account.

Apparently not that easy :)

I think it depends on what back-office software they are using. E.g at Microgaming casinos such as 32Red, Casino Rewards, Digimedia it is an absolute No-No. You have to open a new account when you want to change the currency.

Multi-platform casinos might have ways to do it easier.

Yes, my account is a legacy one with Euros too, no doubt I'll get this changeover sooner or later.

Can you at least claim the welcome offer again? Since its a new account and you start from level 1?
If that possible, I would gladly open a new account and claim the 100% bonus with some spins.

I never really had any issues with them, except went through verification twice as well as the 2nd time they needed an ID with expiring date. Our normal government ID do not have expire date. I had to then apply for passport LOL,which took 2 weeks to receive, then verififed myself and got my withdrawal a few hours later. Most frustrating too weeks of my life

Yes I lost my drivers license a few days before that with my wallet, so I had to re-apply for that as well just in case some of you were wondering.

I had an account at level 180 in Euros that I've had since launch, but they changed it to pounds a few months ago and I had to register a new account in pounds. But on the plus side you go through the whole journey of collecting spins every couple of level ups.

I remember I use to love the Super Spins you get on weekends when leveling up, but that has fallen away.

Yup, little consolation really but I had to do the same a couple of years or so ago.

€€€ account, level (almost) 180, can't remember but was really close. Also games like IR, Jurassic, Thunderstruck II, full choice of bonus rounds/achievements, etc etc

All scrapped and start again (they did honour a brand new welcome package on the £££ account though so not all bad)

Now for the daft part...... The old euro account was so, so lucky for me, in fact "is it broken" lucky! - Rare I had a fast bust out there, sure I was well in front when it got closed also.

The new pounds sterling account is awful, same games, same stakes but cannot hit sweet FA

Sadly despite their reasonable regular deposit offers, stopped using the account a while back due to having zero luck there :(

When they changed the currency on my Leo Vegas account and i had to open a new one,6 months ago. They transferred my vip level without a problem.
