Casinos not taking deposits promptly

we all know that Casinos are very quick to take our money but often much slower in paying it back.

I deposited a few hundred pounds over a week ago using my debit card, so from my bank a/c. The deposits have not been taken yet and the charges have now dropped off my authorisations so the money is showing as available (even though I know it isn't).

This happened to me once before when deposits were only taken 2 weeks after the event.

It's rather annoying as it means I have to make sure I include the funds every time I check my balance.

I suppose I should have a separate a/c just for gaming to avoid this. I'm trying to avoid using a credit card these days.

I am having the opposite problem. Every time I make a deposit it double bills my account so then the funds are not available to me because they are held for pending transactions that will never go through. I don't actually get double taken from my account, just pending double until they clear. Just as confusing, never sure what my balance is, especially with the odd descriptors and amounts.
