I also feel like people are just going to make useless posts (like this one) to seem active. It doesn't add anything to the forum yet it looks busier.

Sometimes there just isn't anything going on that I want to comment on. Now with the World Cup I'll chime in now and then but my busiest time was when we were fighting about politics, which doesn't happen that much anymore I think

I agree with the 10 posts in principle,but it's bloody difficult to post when you are hardly playing slots and can't get a decent win to save your life. Summer is a difficult time for me and money as it's the season of bills and not much money coming in as my spare cash comes from refereeing a certain sport we all love here in the UK. I try to budget accordingly,as should we all.

On the flip side, this post you made here counts towards your '10' ;-)

This is actually a great idea and will help on my work load certainly.

If CM wants everyone to have an opportunity to remain here and enter they should be told sooner rather than finding out in August they are not eligible after they have spent real money to try to enter. Once told of the req's it's on them to make the effort this month(should also be made clear in July competitions if any run).

I feel we need some disqualifications so people understand they can't come to the forum just for contests.
If these disqualifications mean less participants for one month it's all good. They will start contributing more and eventually that's good for the forum.

I think that "forcing" a certain number of forum posts from would-be contestants might backfire because it tends to give a somewhat constructed feel to topics and discussions.

Also, what happens if someone who's been a contributing member for a long time but absent for however long makes a return to the community they once were a backbone of and see there's a contest they would very much like to take part in - would they be refused entry because they didn't meet last month's posting requirement? This would be an example of the rules working against their purpose.

Could a better alternative be to invite members to the contests based on their Reaction Score, which is something this forum uses to kind of measure a member's "content". Like: "You'll need 250 pts to enter our contest". If you have that sum of points, you must have contributed in some way or another, be it now or before, and should be welcomed into the contests.

I have to admit that one did made me chuckle, simply because it is SO true.

Contribution points shouldn't only be replies but also "reactions" to posts or amount of visits in a month. It's not because people don't submit a new thread or comment to one that they're not actively reading topics. Sometimes everything's said before I'm able to read a topic, should I just say exactly the same or react with an emote to whichever comment(s) I think are good ones?

It's a thin line between an active member and an "active" member. Well, IMO.

All this hassle for mods and members because of what seems to be a few people who only do comps. It's seems to be obvious who they are.

I don't think it's the guys doing well in the comp this month either, I see them post in other threads that are unrelated to comps often enough, not their fault if the comp favours their play style.

I can see the mods problem in dealing with this but every criteria will just be abused or worked around so maybe it's just better to ban the actual comp abusers the same way bots are.

Also maybe only allow new users to take part after 3/6 months or, if not that, delay their prize for 3 months and cancel it if they haven't contributed in that time. If they only do the comps and nothing else ban them too.

This looks to me like it's going to turn into that 'old lady that swallowed a fly' nursery rhyme as more and more rules are made when loopholes are found or complaints made for the current ones.

Considering that @mcgameboy already named two earlier in this thread and @geordiecolin pointed out in the last comp that one of them was not eligible but they were still included in the winners isn't the simplest solution for mods to just actually ban 'comp abusers' at any time, even if it's during the comp or at the end, rather than making it so convoluted for everyone else.

Just accept that 'comp abusers' are the really obvious ones, not people who might log in when they have time to contribute or take part in a comp once in a while if they are able to.

These types of rules will just alienate long time members or more casual players who might have 'paid their dues' in contributions.

Banning those ones who were named would have avoided all this hassle for all of you imo.

I think I have been fair and even handed so far. Whatever changes made will be enforced by me moving forward.

Think it should just be if members have been here a while and regularly post even if only a few a month they should be eligible. Not really fair on members that have been here for years through the good and bad and regularly posted that they can not join in if they did not make 10 posts the previous month.

As for the posts. I mean does 100 posts a month repeating that VS battles are shite really add more to the forum than a member that makes 4 constructive posts on same month.

My experience has been excellent since you guys became the main mods.

The reality is something like 12 entrants for the current 2 running competitions wouldn't have met the requirements if it was for 10 non competition posts in June to win a prize in July.

What is the point of a full competition if 12 of the people aren't actually using the forums for anything other than trying to score some free money. They're otherwise not around posting so why should they be allowed to enter.

If it means there's 10 prizes and only 10 legit entries then it simply means everyone who is active on the forums gets lucky with a win.

I think mod discretion should come into play here as well. The minimum posting bar could be lowered to 5 for instance, or if a member of good long standing returns, should they be stopped from entering? I don't think so.

1000 euros is the prize pool each month yeah?

So overall largest X win base or bonus - 100 euros
Commiserations prize smallest X win bonus only - 100 euros

If either ties to the exact .00x then split it in half I guess

Wins over 250x 1 entry to raffle (3 prizes of 100 euros)
Base game over 50x 1 entry to raffle (5 prizes of 50 euros each)
Bonus multi over 15x 1 entry to raffle (5 prizes of 50 euros each)

Runs for a month so limit of 3 total entries for each category and 3 for largest/smallest X submission too. That way there's 2 fixed prizes and another 13 random prizes up for grabs. With just 3 entries to max out in a month everyone has a fair chance to get submissions in over the 30 days.

All 3 of those categories are not 'easy' but are possible. It should allow people to enter at least somewhere.

Actual numbers could be adjusted depending on if you want it easier or harder for someone to actually submit all 3 entries.

I want these comps to be fair. So moving forward instead of people pointing it out in a comp thread, for action to be taken where needed, a PM is the best solution.

Just to go back to my point earlier and clarify what I was really trying to say is that when slots are treating you badly,as happens to us all, it's very difficult to talk much about them as we get a negative frame of mind and likely do something else.

Reading all these posts and I feel sorry for Webzcas.

These are promotions that are kindly being offered monthly by CM and Pragmatic , Bragg etc. Promotions that were never available monthly years ago. Tho to be fair most of people commenting weren't here that long ago.

They are generous promotions. People should be happy to just enter and leave it up to staff how its managed. So what if there are load of entrants and you have less chance of winning. Is it really a big deal. Why should anyone be saying members that have been here for years when it was a proper forum and contributed way more than screenshots and made thousands of posts be told sorry you can't enter you never posted last month.

Myself I only enter the odd competition. Could enter every month but half the time can't be bothered. Just leave it up to ones that seem desperate to win to enter.

Think people need to remember these are competitions that don't need to be ran . Older members here will remember how we used to.have plenty of Reps taking part and posting comps etc. But the whinging and constant moaning drove them away. Now look and tell me how many Reps post and offer competitions. Exactly so who is to say that if people keep complaining about competitions that the owners won't just go fuck this its not worth the hassle.

Fun fact regarding the Red and Yellow Card system is that it is based on the traffic light system. English referee Ken Aston was the smart person who thought of introducing this simple system to help both players and spectators understand the players who have been cautioned or dismissed after having cards shown to them.
