I didn't get this one specifically, but I get at LEAST twenty a day from these guys, sometimes more. I hate them, hate them, hate them. I think I'm gonna go and start signing up for a bunch of newsletters and spammy affy sites with their support email addy. Assholes.

I just received one 10 mins ago. Seeing I just woke up I opened it and sure enough knew it was SPAM at that point.

Now obviously this is not a random db mail list because no one other than gamblers are going to know who or what casinomeister is, correct?

So some pr#ck in the industry has collected and sold our emails, not that we didn't know that already. But my point is no one is going to use casinomeister@hotmail.com unless they were pretty sure people would open it.

As far as Gold VIP Casino I don't know what can be done about them but they & their band of spammers are starting to really annoy me.

Cheers

T

This is going to make Bryan mad:mad:

WE know it is spam, but what about others, who will look up the reference "casinomeister", and associate this site with Gold VIP Club.

This is by no means their WORST stunt by a long shot, they don't stop at scraping the bottom of the barrel, they then dismantle it, boil it up, and suck the last "goodness" from it.

They are probably one of the few casino groups I would consider a "legitimate target" for a "dirty" cyber war;)

It might be helpful to work out which botnet they are using, one was recently shut down, but managed to trick an ISP into giving them a few hours to transfer data in order for them to survive. Gold VIP Club are at the darkest end of "black hat" marketing and promoting.
The mass spamming will always give them enough suckers... sorry, customers, to make the operation profitable, no matter how many "rogue pits" the casino ends up in.

The clincher, as always, is the $2400 SUB, filter on that, and you can find their spam & ditch it.

had the same one, but knew it was junk, still hate getting all that crap

Ditto here ........... hotmail account = freemail = anyone can have one = no ID required!

So please explain this to me .......... how are email addys harvested from this site? Doesn't CM have some security in place that prohibits that?

I got it too and am only registered at a few casinos. Came to check the forums to see what was up with it, figured it was spammers. Dirty rats.

Got the same email but didnt open it though. Sure enough, the topic has already been discussed here. Go after 'em Bryan.

Trouble is, they are in Costa Rica, not much inthe way of law there that can stop them.

No good attacking the domains either, probably some innocents who are being spoofed. In this example, you might attack the casinomeister site, because you see it coming from one of "his" addresses or domains.

The only way to get the guilty party is to attack the domains hosting Gold VIP Club casino.

They have paid "black hat" hackers and spammers, and it is all about fun & money for them. If anyone can give them a better offer, they can have "fun & money" out of attacking the casino servers, so that no-one can actually register and play. Hacking the homepage would be even better, replacing it with a more truthful one:D

My Nephew claims to "know people", but this may be out of their league, and he may well just be exaggerating anyway - I cut him off from the internet, and he failed to hack his way back in again (he even got "call a friend", - not thinking outside the box, it wasn't software, it was "real world" - a strategically placed sweet wrapper:D

Sent a PM to B on this, just in case he hasn't seen it already, or one of you haven't already alerted him to it.

As we all know, anyone can open up a hotmail account. And even though you get an email from presidentobama@hotmail.com, I think most people have the sense that it is not from him. Same goes for the Casinomeister brand.

All you can do in this situation is to alert the affiliate program at GoldVip and report the spam to Hotmail.

So please explain this to me .......... how are email addys harvested from this site? Doesn't CM have some security in place that prohibits that?

If you post your email address in a public thread, the email harvesting spiders will eat it up. So you should not post your email address in public view unless you don't mind spam.

The email address that you use to sign up and receive emails via the site are protected - these are only available to the moderators and me. No worries there - unless I decide to sell them :D

I got 2 of these, both sent to an email address that existed only at intercasino, which somehow got shared with a bunch of affiliates and spammers (gosh gee, I wonder how that happened).

Got another one of these today. At the bottom it says:
As a Player at Gold Stream online casinos, you are registered to receive correspondence from us. As part of Gold Stream support of responsible gaming it has an 18+ age policy. Senders address: SJO 3482, 7979 NW 21ST Street, DORAL, FL 33122-1616 USA

WTF is 'gold stream online casinos'? I don't seem to remember signing up with them. And if the email is from 'gold stream casino' (or whatever), why is the return email casinomeister@ hotmail ?

Bunch of morons...

Every time I get an email from a casino I just hit the report spam button, this way I don't get the same shitty emails and then I just go right into my spam mail and hit delete all..

I got one of them yesterday also. deleted it

Got one just now, the Meister sure is busy:rolleyes:

Great that we now have another "Virtual Group casino detection tool", this makes it easier to follow all their name & branding changes;)

Since it's a US address, how about tipping off the DoJ that they are HEAVILY PROMOTING and ILLEGAL activity to US Citizens.

How about someone from Kentucky sending this to the governor and asking, "this is what you mean by "legal" right - it's based in Florida, so we can play under your rules & we are at least spending WITHIN the USA"

IF you can convince the US authorities that "ordinary citizens" are seeing things this way, it might make Virtual the "most wanted" on the DoJ hit list of arrogant offshore casino companies.
