Hey!

I hope I won't break any rules by posting there my recent videos from streams. I have quite few of them and thought I might share it with the community.

Cheers!

You could of course have posted them in the relevant thread (of which you are well aware of) but I guess that wont give enough of exposure to your channel..

I have to be honest and say that it's pushing the boundaries of 'fair exposure' a bit IMO.

Yes, Chopley has his own thread but doesn't promote casinos, when I had my old channel I would post videos in the winner (or loser) videos thread not in my own one. I would also mention the casino name and deposit amount then just show the game screens and nothing else during the video as that's what I personally considered fair use.

I must say to actually be allowed to use a casino name as your username and your business logo as an avatar when not an official rep for an accredited casino, and then make your own exclusive thread takes the piss a bit. It's back-door self-promotion to bypass the rules if you ask me. If Bryan permits it, then fair enough but it could set a precedent for chancers and spammers to do the same when word spreads.

At the start the OP states that he 'hopes he isn't breaking any rules' but did he actually check he wasn't first? I'd be interested to know Admin's view on this. :)

P.S. I get the feeling that now this thread has been established, there will be daily posts to ensure it appears above in the 'top 10' recent posts each day. Otherwise there would have been no point in starting it.

The peps are right here. I can't have dedicated streamer threads because everyone and their brother streamer will be posting their videos here for marketing purposes only.

It's great that you want to share information - but let's keep it at that. Thanks!

BTW - CasinoLand is oldtimer member Slotmonster who recently requested a name change. Just so you know.

End note: please don't exploit the forum for marketing purposes. Thank you.

I still think it's questionable that a member is permitted to change their name to a non-accredited casino's name which can only be for one reason IMO - brand awareness.

It's a backdoor method of advertising for which there are no grounds to do so, i.e. they aren't an affiliated accredited casino with a rep.

It could also be problematic if and when in future the casino in question decides to join CM and get accredited, then their new rep CANNOT use the casino name in their moniker like the others can.

I do recall your announcement about this name change but thought nothing of as I didn't click at the time that it was a brand name, which are exclusively allocated to casino reps, or hitherto were.

Anyway, signing off as 'dunover' henceforth to be known as 'PaddyPowerVegas':lolup:

Edit - the more I think of this I have to respectfully suggest it's unwise to permit casino names and monikers in avatars. This could lead to all kinds of abuse in future with dodgy casinos possibly being named and it wouldn't surprise me due to the CM internet presence that members here could be paid a one-off or monthly sum behind the scenes to use a casino name. I'm not comfortable with it personally.

I wasn't aware that Casinoland was a casino. I didn't check - I thought it was merely Slotmonster's new handle and that he was doing the streamer thing.

Yeah, I guessed as much - neither did I. :eek2:

Good point. Normally whenever someone signs up as a rep, I verify the email to ensure that it's related to the casino. But there are so many white labels at the moment, I can understand that there could be efforts to abuse this forum with the methods you've described.

Hello everyone :)

I think this username kind of belongs to me and I started using it way before the Casinoland casino was established.

If you check the whois service, I own the website casino-land.org which I created in August 2012. I also had Twitch and YouTube channels which I created in 2015. Now casino-land.org redirects to casino-land.su website which I also own.

Casinoland casino was created in 2016 I believe. Based on that, I'd think that the right to use CasinoLand username belongs to me. Also, I think it is not right to claim that I'm here to promote this casino, since I never played there and I just wanted to post videos of my wins from various casinos.

As for the dedicated thread, I created it because there was a thread called "winner videos", however, I don't see it anymore.

Thanks!

tbh if my name were say Casino Dionysus and 5 years later there came to be a Casino Dionysus I wouldnt be interested in giving up my name especially if I had an online situated casino presence
CasinoLand was registered in 1997. Secondly, he only just changed his name to it, well after the establishment of the casino, which was well before 2016. Therefore there's no chicken-and-egg question here.

Yes, there's flexibility in names, I could probably buy 'bet365-days.com' or casumo-slots.com but if it did cause issues subsequently on here I bet I know which way the axe would fall. ;)

I'm only going what he posted as a timeline and having checked the assorted casinoland sites having from 2016 to 2018 at the bottom of their pages. If they were created prior, I've no (personal) knowledge of that.
Either scenario, what I posted, holds true - that if a casino WERE to come around 5 years after I held the same name (be it here in CM or online)

I guess he was mostly active in here before you became a member. Many of us old ones remember Viktar as a nice fellow, just to mention that :)

If he say he has had that name for his website for many years then he have. I can question why he changed his name in here but I can also understand it if he is working full time with it now.
I'm sure Bryan and him can work out what his name in here should be and what and where to post his videos.

I remember when Trilej, English was still something a little more new for you. Some complex tenses there. Bravo! :)

I'd imagine the name change reflects who he interacts as online, nothing insidious - if it has the added benefit of added traffic to his streams, I don't see it as any different than any other members who namedrop their site or add links into their videos, contests, video reviews, posts et c.
Personally, I think it should be an 'everyone or noone' scenario.
But as you say, I'm certain he and Bryan can banter it out.

Just FYI there is a discussion behind the scenes with the OP about this.

There are 2 facets here - posting this thread for promotion and not using the winner videos one is a bit naughty and Bryan has already mentioned that above, he has apologized and will in future use the proper thread like other streamers - sorted, all cleared!

The second facet is a bit more convoluted - as Dionysus and the OP have mentioned in our discussion, he is not promoting the casino of the same name and has owned the casino-land domain for a while. This has lead to an unfortunate situation which can often arise when you buy 'cut-and-shut' domain names. I'll explain:

When setting up a site, you obviously want a really good and relevant domain name with a good keyword. For example, if I wanted to buy 'onlinecasinos.com' it would have been snapped up 20-odd years ago and if not presently being used would be traded for a fortune! It is a premium and desirable generic casino domain name.

So knowing or seeing that one wouldn't be available for 10 euros like most domains when I went to a domain purchasing site, I then try (what I consider) to be the next best thing i.e. 'online-casinos.com' with the hyphen. Now if you check, Google don't like this and you'll see the un-hyphenated version will usually rank higher then the original, all other things being equal. Now naturally, having bought the hyphenated version you will not call your new site 'online-casinos' but either online casinos or onlinecasinos, removing that inconvenient hyphen and also removing it from your site's meta tags and search keywords. This is not something I would recommend that any webby's do, but it does go on. A bit like buying 'casino-meister.com' although that's a brand name not a generic title so is far worse than my initial example.

This is all well and good until it conflicts with the un-hyphenated premium version as it has here. You are naming your site without the hyphen while having bought the hyphenated version of the name, cheap.

I accept that the OP is 100% straight here and did not foresee this issue and has been a bit unfortunate in that the chickens have come home to roost in this case. Remember, it's ownership of the name that's the cause of any issues, not the timeline of who did what first!

To that end I have suggested a solution that means a very small tweak to the OP's changed name and would not cause any future issues with the casinoland gambling site. I am awaiting responses, it's the seniors' decision and we can await their verdict.

IMHO Viktar is a decent bloke.

He's been around for a while. I don't think its malicious on his part.

At the end of the day, its fair just to post in the Winner Videos section without a dedicated thread to yourself (If you are an affiliate)

Nate
