I was looking around if there was a thread on all the Casino ads on TV but I couldn't find one, so here it is. Just a chat to share some thoughts about the best way to advertise a Casino on TV during breaks.
I live in the UK, so I see what I see, and I have no idea how Casino advertising works in other countries, but here are some thoughts.
I've noticed in the last 3 years, there is a focus on "when the fun stops, stop" at the end of the narrative, which didn't exist 4 years ago, so the focus is to show all these Casino are responsible gaming Casinos. Whilst I don't see any ads for Casinos I like, I see often a few strange ones that I would like to hear comments on, what do you think?
1. Foxy Casino with Heather Graham - she is a nice looking woman, not sure they spent that money well, as they could have found someone local, just as beautiful and less expensive. Also, with all the problems their group had with affiliates, they could have used that money to clear some of that up.
Heather and Foxy don't mix and here's why, Heather is American, and Foxy Bingo promote themselves as hard core British, they have all these sayings you could only ever understand if you were from Manchester. So while one half of the commercial is with Heather, the other half dubs a male voicey, with the manchester accent on heather's mouth cause she could never pronounce it correctly. I noticed it as I thought why did her voice change and then I realized no one non-british could ever pull that off. But I don't understand Foxy's stance, I looked on the site and all the Manchester english put me totally off. I think their whole concept is such a miss.
2. Casumo...a Casino? So they get a man doing a 50's news style voiceover on some breaking news. Aliens have landed, but they call themselves Casumos, What do they want? Oh, they want us to play games and have fun.....fair enough. Casumo.....a Casino???? Ok, clearly they want to portray themselves as a totally different Casino, and want people to google it as the ad doesn't really say anything about the Casino except that they may have some relations to aliens. So if Aliens did come to earth, but only wanted us to play at their Casino and have fun that would be fair enough and humanity would have no need for concerns?
Sorry for what appears like rants but I understand the value of having TV adverts for Casinos in the UK, I have done some story boarding myself but would have never thought the above ideas would have gotten through.
Do these adverts speak to you in anyway? Do they make you want to deposit and play at the said Casino and do you think you could win there? If you weren't a Casino player, do you think this could sway you? For me, it's a no
Foxy Casino ad:
I cannot find the current Casumo ad on youtube, but it's a similar style to all the other ones, but it mentions nothing about the Casino
