Canbet scamming me

I received an email claiming to me from canbet casino. Well,I had an account before they went out of business and they addressed me by my name. The mail was a promo and the link went to a page with a host of MG casinos from various groups like VPL, FL, Riverbelle and the Palace group. Sorry, the title should read spamming me. Can a mod help to change it please.

Can't quite work out what they are doing with their casino. Looks like an affiliate website to me, promoting other brands. My guess is that this is what they are doing. They are probably sending mailers out to their old database, hence why you have received an email. It's all kind of strange.

This is VERY serious indeed!

The "play sports" tab on the "banner farm" Canbet casino site goes to the GENUINE Canbet sports book, and this GENUINE Canbet site has "play casino" on the right hand side. Clicking this brings up a BelleRock casino, one of those being touted by the "Canbetcasino" banner farm.

This is not mere cybersquatting on "canbetcasino" and passing it off as connected, this involves the GENUINE Canbet sportbook site DIRECTLY, which is offering CURRENT sports betting.

If this is a phishing attempt, it is a blindingly clever one, as one can log in to one's Canbet account on the GENUINE URL it always had, yet one that now promotes a whole host of other casinos to run alongslide the sportsbook.

The last I heard was that the Casino was closed, but only so the company could focus on it's sportsbook.

If ALL former account holders are getting this, and the GENUINE Canbet URL is involved, it seems almost certain this is Canbet themselves who are behind this, even if only by selling their domains and customer database to some "super affiliate".

I don't recall EVER being notified by Canbet that this would happen, let alone being given a chance to opt out.

I did NOT actually try to log in to my Canbet account, even though everything at this point look genuine, this is just SO strange that I can't even trust the proper URL any longer.

So, have they now stepped up to "spamming" every ex casino customer in their database now, and directing them to a separate "banner farm" site that every sensible and experienced player would interpret as the work of a rogue affiliate, and quite possibly a scam.

When signing up to their Casino, players expected emails about Canbet related products, but not only is this email marketing other casinos, it's content is highly misleading as it gives the impression that the offer is a specific one for "Canbet casino", and a specific bonus is offered in the email, which turns out not to exist when one clicks through, because all you end up with is a "banner farm" website promoting a whole range of casinos with a whole range of welcome offers, so Canbet CANNOT legitimately market a SPECIFIC offer in an email, because they are not in control of what these other casinos offer, and maybe only ONE does, or used to, feature that specific offer.
